After Jonah finished reading the note he started thinking about what G.S. had said about meeting under the oak tree everyday after school as he was taking his cold shower and by the time he had finished finally decided that he would go meet at the oak tree everyday. Jonah had taken off his old note from the window and wrote a new one that said, "Hey G.S. I've decided that yes I will meet under the oak tree everyday after school. -Jonah"
The next day Jonah almost couldn't stay focused on his classes because all he could think about was meeting up with G.S. under the oak tree after school was over. During lunch it was all he could talk about with his friends, he talked about it so much to the point that they asked him to quit. When this happened Jonah had stopped talking and started blushing because he had just realized how much he was talking about it.
During Jonah's last class of the day he almost couldn't stay in his seat as the class had gotten closer to being over. After school Jonah had basically ran all the way to the park because of how happy and excited he was to meet G.S. in person for the first time. When Jonah had gotten to the park he saw someone standing by the oak tree seemingly waiting for someone else and Jonah almost exploded with happiness just at the sight of him thinking it was G.S.
Jonah tried to walk up to him as calmly and casually as he could. This mystery man could obviously tell that Jonah was trying to act calm because to be honest Jonah wasn't trying very well to hide it. So, he walked up to Jonah and gave him a note saying, "I was supposed to give this to you and tell you the writer says sorry." With those last four heart breaking words Jonah shakily takes the note opening it trying not to cry.
The note read, "Dear Jonah, My father found out that I'm gay and went into a rage over it and physically beat me for the first time every to the point where I almost needed to go to the hospital. So, I decided to stay home and not go to school or go anywhere outside of my room. I'm sorry Jonah but I think this might be my last note I every write to you. Please move on from me I was just a passing moment in your amazingly wonderful life. I'm sorry we never got a chance to meet in person but there should hopefully be a picture of me attached to this note if it didn't fall off. Love G.S." After reading the last line Jonah frantically looked all around the oak tree in hopes of finding the picture but alas wasn't able to find it.
From that day on Jonah had still gone to the oak tree after school everyday for the rest of his senior year. He never missed a single day hoping that he had read the message wrong and that what he thought G.S. meant wasn't true but sadly a new note never showed up that year and no one had ever come to the oak tree to meet him. Until the day before he left for college.
