Ace
I followed Aspen, once again, through the streets as she ran down them.
We had been running through the city for almost half-an-hour, and the sky suddenly opened up and poured down on us.
Kylo, Miles, and Nick decided to go and take Jax home, and I told them I was going to follow Aspen and see where she was going.
She took a sharp turn into the mid-city street, her hair and clothes drenched with the rain, and she ran father and farther until she came up short to a bench and sat down, putting her face in her hands to catch her breath.
I stopped a bit away from her, watching her and every person around to make sure she wasn't meeting anyone here, and when no one came to her, I stepped over to the bench with an umbrella over my head, settling down and hovering the shield over us both so she wouldn't get wetter.
I watched as she gazed up at me and sighed, wiping the rain off her eyes before staring into the distance.
She was still tense, but I couldn't tell if it was because she was scared of the man on the phone or if it was me.
Jax said things he shouldn't have. He hated her for some reason whereas all of us just want to know why she was acting this way.
She was hiding something, and we thought originally she was protecting the killer because she secretly loved him or something, but now...
When she told him "leave my friends alone or I'll kill you," we knew she hated him.
She was afraid of losing someone. We didn't know if it was us for sure.
I hovered the umbrella more over her, so her shoulders were concealed from the rain, and in doing so, I had to move closer.
She stiffened at this, and I stopped, questioning after what Jax said, if I repulsed her now.
I hoped not... Every night I thought about her and my dick hardened to stone, I had to stroke myself every night thinking about her, and it pissed me off because I was supposed to hate her.
She was staring off still, and I noticed she had no jacket on, and the rain was slipping down her soft skin. I wondered what she tasted like now... I kissed her ages ago. Did she still taste like strawberries? Did she still let out her soft moans when I ran my hands down her arms and hair? I wanted her for years, but I knew she needed time now.
She was fuller and beautiful, her hair was a darker shade of red now than the orange before, and her eyes were much softer, but also much hotter.
I could tell by how they were flickering that she was thinking of something scary, but I could tell by how her legs were shifting over the other that...
Well... that what she was thinking about wasn't necessarily innocent.
Was she thinking about me? Every time I touched her and made her moan? I've never entered her, never seen her with her panties off. I've slipped my hand under her shit and played with her breasts a little.
But we were always interrupted.
Fuck... I was hardening again.
I hoped she didn't notice it.
"So..." I whispered then, hearing my own voice grow thick, "why did you run?"
"I needed to get away from you," she responded silently.
I froze at this. What? She hates us?
"Why?" I said then.
"You shouldn't be around me," was all she said.
"It was him on the phone," I said, "wasn't it?"
She was silent but started playing with her fingers.
Yeah... it was. I could tell by her reaction.
I looked back out. "Tell us where he is and we'll fuck him up, Aspen."
She only chuckled coldly, shaking her head in disbelief. "You have no fucking idea who he is, Ace."
I was silent then, but I kept watching her expression darken.
She was afraid.
"You're shivering," I noticed aloud, and she closed her eyes as if in pain, "and you've been wearing the same clothes for the last two days."
She was silent.
"Aspen..." I whispered then, "you're soaked and you're clearly freezing your ass off."
She never answered, but she started shaking harder, and I noticed goose bumps surfacing.
"I have to take care of something," I told her, standing now, "but I want you at my door in an hour, hear?"
She hesitated.
"You're going to be there," I told her in my stern tone.
She gazed up at me. "Or what?"
I leveled my eyes with hers, holding the umbrella still as I watched my reaction darken her eyes, but the darkness also replaced with something curious.
"Aspen," I warned, seeing her look up at me, "it's not hard to find you, you know. I'll hunt you down if you don't come see me, and you have nowhere to go to sleep without me walking in and pushing you out." I raised her dorm key in my hand, watching her expression darken.
She sighed then, looking away while nodding.
"An hour," I repeated to her. "Be there."
And I left.
