"Well... this is concerning," I stated when I stared down at Aspen, seeing her passed out, again, on the floor. Only this time she looked like she was sleeping.
I gazed around the room with raised brows, noticing the walls were covered in water and there was glass shattered all over the floors, along with scattered flowers.
But when I locked eyes on the room, I noticed there was only one bed.
Was she the only one in here?
I was originally going to ask why she spent so much on flowers and not food, but I noticed the flowers in the vases were clearly picked from the school's garden.
Huh.
My cousin, Jax, had been staring at her on the floor with raised brows, watching her sleep blissfully with a touch of annoyance.
And he slightly nudged her with his foot. "She alive?"
"She's breathing," I hissed, "stop, you dick."
He threw his hands up in defeat and decided to walk around the room, examining her walls and floors.
I sighed, gazing down at Aspen as she slept on the floor. "So, you pass out in the graveyard, puke out food I give you, and then end up throwing a temper tantrum in your dorm room when you left this time, not me. It's not on me now, Aspen. It's all you."
"I thought you hated her," Jax stated, shuffling through her books for information on the attacker.
I just rolled my eyes, and nudged her with a hand, hearing her groan in annoyance before her lashes parted.
Her eyes were glossed with drowsiness, and she seemed genuinely calm despite her next question, "How did you get in here...?"
"I have a key," I responded, making her brows draw together. "Now get up," I told her, "we're going out to breakfast. All of us."
She rolled over and gazed around her room. "I'm not hungry."
"I don't give a shit," I said, "get up."
"You're too fucking pushy," she told me, but still listened.
