Every dream has been of you

Your warm smiles

And your irresistibly quirky personality

That shimmers in my heart

And passionately lives in my mind

Each dawn, I have attempted

And struggled

And wished

To shimmer with you

To shimmer doing things you would scintillatingly do

And you said “I would love to do them too”

But as moons have passed

Your smile has faltered

Into a mask to greet me with

Like I am someone you met in passing
