BKK Social club, a swanky bar at Four Seasons offered a glamorous retreat from the hectic Thai capital.
The bar spent it's former years showcasing flavors from Argentina before turning to Mexican styles and spirits.
When White entered the cocktail bar, he first took in the sociable ambiance which echoed the old glamour of Buenos Aires.
He was 45 minutes early for the date.
There was no particular reason why he was early for the date. He had played tennis at two with May, then had fruit salad for lunch followed by a long nap.
After his nap, White had showered and dressed up for an evening out.
Once seated, he was offered a free aperitif drink which was a compliment from the house.
White declined.
The waiter asked: "What would you like to drink?"
"Coke and rum please."
The waiter give a quick nod and left.
White looked at the cocktail menu.
It had an eclectic cocktail list and a few classics.
"Thank you," White said when the waiter brought his drink.
He took a sip and decided to make a call.
Putting down his glass, White reached for his phone and dialed May's number.
At a kitchenware and home furnishing store, May carefully examined a shelf laid out with elegant dinnerware set.
She reached for a dinner plate and looked it over.
May returned it to the shelf and reached for a cereal bowl.
The bowl was made of fine porcelain with a gold painted rim.
She imagined how the entire set would turn her dining table into a luxurious setting for her upcoming dinner party.
And the hand painted gold rims would elevate the look and feel of the menu she had planned to serve her guests.
Just as May was putting the cereal bowl back onto the shelf with a smile, her phone rang.
She quickly pulled it out of her handbag bag. On the screen was White's name.
"Hello."
"Hello. I am at the Four Seasons now."
"I see," May said as she moved onto another dinnerware set.
This new set was made of white melamine and were also hand painted.
"Is he there?" May wanted to know.
"No, not yet," White answered as he looked towards the entrance.
"Do you think he going to fall in love with you?"
There was a long pause as May waited for White's answer.
"Yes, like all the others before him."
Precisely at that moment, Aiden arrives at the Four Seasons and once inside he made a beeline for the swanky bar.
"May I will have to end our call. Aiden is here."
"Bye."
As Aiden walked over, White returned the phone to his pocket and stood up.
A quick hug was exchanged and White planted a quick kiss on Aiden's cheek.
"What would you have?" White asked as they sat down.
"Champagne would be nice."
White gestured a waiter over.
Once the champagne was brought, White began telling Aiden his plans for the future. He had set his sights on opening pharmacy shops in all the posh neighborhoods in the city.
"I know it would be hard work," White commented, laughing, "if only I am able to secure the initial capital capital investment to start with."
"Well enough about me, let's talk about you now."
Aiden felt his breath quickened as he set down his champagne flute.
"What do want to know?"
"Do you have a celebrity crush?"
"Do I have a celebrity crush?"
Aiden repeated the question thoughtfully.
"Yes, I am always curious to find out people's celebrity crushes," White pointed out.
"No, I don't."
"I see," White said smiling, "how do you spend your weekends? I want plan future dates on the weekends."
"Nothing interesting," Aiden began.
"Sometimes I go out to lunch with my parents. I do a bit of shopping, I go for long walks. A bit of cleaning and a bit of reading too. That's the sort of thing I do on my weekends."
"So in an ideal world, would you rather read a good book or watch a movie?"
"I would prefer a good book, but I am not opposed to watching a great movie."
The following morning White paid May a visit.
"May," White called out as he entered the house.
"White is that you?"
May asked as she strolled leisurely down the stairs in a silk nightgown and it's matching robe.
"Hello, it's me. I brought croissants and fresh yogurt so that we can have breakfast together."
"I don't remember inviting you to breakfast," May remarked with a careless chuckle as she walked past him to the sitting room.
"I called to you, and it's Sunday morning. We usually have croissants and fresh yogurt together. It's our tradition."
May smiled before informing her visitor.
"I have new traditions now."
She reached for a pile of morning newspapers before sitting down on a sofa to read them.
White joined on the sofa.
"They are not traditions if they are new."
May just crossed her legs and flipped the newspaper over.
"How was your date with Aiden?"
"It went well," was White's short response.
As Aiden took his morning shower he thought about White and their previous date.
He had not heard from White and nothing had been planned for their next date.
Aiden hoped their date would be one of many but as of now nothing was certain.
Aiden spent the rest of the day in a dream like state wondering about White's real feelings, he wondered about his feelings also, for in the back of his mind there was an uncertainty about the whole affair.
But something happened to change all that, Aiden was out running errands when White called.
"Hello, and how are you?"
"Am fine, thank you. How are you also doing?"
"Am good, what are you doing?" White asked.
"Out running errands," Aiden answered.
"A friend of mine is hosting a dinner party tomorrow evening, I have her permission to send you an invite."
"A dinner party?*
"Yes, I hope you have no other plans?"
"No, I am available."
"Good. I have been thinking about about getting new furniture for my back garden. I was wondering if you join me and give feedback on the type of furniture to get."
"When?"
"Around two this afternoon," White suggested with a charming smile.
"Yes, two is fine with me."
"Good. I will drive to where you are now."
