Coming out of the building after his osteopathy appointment, Aiden saw White's car parked outside.
He quickly crossed the pavement and got in. After a quick kiss, he fastened his seatbelt.
White started the engine and got the SUV into motion.
"How was your osteopathy appointment?" White inquired in an interested voice.
"It has been one of the most bizarre experiences of my life."
"Bizarre?"
"Yes, but in a positive way because it was not what I expected," Aiden explained as he held his cheeks in his palm.
White kept his eyes on the road as he asked for clarification.
"What did you think it would be?"
"Remember I talked about my headaches and how they felt like pressure in my head?"
White nodded.
"After the osteopath did his magic, I can't feel the headache now," reaching for his jawline Aiden continued, "for instance my jaw now feels very relaxed."
"And my ears initially felt like they were about to pop so that was really strange."
"Did the osteopath work on other things?"
Aiden nodded and listed the areas.
"My angle, my hips and my shoulders. There was tension in them now they feel so odd and different."
"Did it hurt?" His voice low and filled with concern.
Aiden smiled gleefully at White.
"No, it didn't. I had a little pain in my left wrist and the osteopath worked on it. It felt like he was reaching deep into my muscles."
"Does your body feel any different?"
It feels overwhelming. We did breathing exercises in the beginning and then did the movements and we did the breathing exercises again."
"After which everything felt totally different and very relaxed."
"So the overall experience was a positive one," White's eyes were intent on meeting Aiden's eyes.
Aiden nodded with blushing smile.
"Where next should I take you?"
"Take me to Central World Mall. It's my parents wedding anniversary and I want to buy them an anniversary gift."
"How many years are they celebrating?"
"About thirty years and they are currently in Phuket. I will join them there."
White smiled charmingly.
"Why don't we go together. My calendar is free and I would like to meet your parents," he added.
"You want to meet my parents?" Aiden asked while trying to read his face.
"Yes, I do. I know it's soon but if you do not object to it I don't see why not."
"I have no objections, and It would be nice to go with someone."
White reached Aiden hand and gave it a squeeze.
"I just hope my presence wouldn't be an inconvenience for your family."
"No, it won't,' Aiden assured him.
White watched from the car as Aiden went into the Mall. Once he was out of sight White reached for his phone and dialed May's number.
Yim entered Kisara restaurant around lunch time, its inviting space was adorned with stylish wooden interiors.
The restaurant offered a diverse range of premium seafood and succulent meats on its menu.
Upon seeing seeing May sitting by herself, Yim decided to join her company.
"I am not in a good mood, so you have been warned," May told him as he sat next to her.
"Maybe I can improve your mood."
Yim placed a black velvet box in front of May.
"What is that?" She asked.
Yim opened it to reveal a bejeweled bangle with two rubies facing each other.
May started laughing when she saw it.
Yim took the bangle and slipped it onto her wrist.
"Something this beautiful deserves to be seen on someone worthy of its beauty."
"You nauseate me," May said as she looked away with boredom.
"I am glad I have some effect on you."
"Do you like me?"
"I am infatuated with you," Yim answered.
"No.....you like me," May expressed as the realization dawned upon her.
"Say yes , and I will be yours forever," Yim promised.
"It isn't that simple," May said, looking at the bejeweled bangle on her wrist.
"It is simple, you should not with him. You should be with me." Yim cajoled with an impassioned inveigle.
"Why should I?" May inquired.
"Because I love you more...."
May's phone started ringing.
It was White.
"Hello?" May answered.
"I am going to Phuket in a few days with Aiden."
"This is very sudden."
"I know but it's a brilliant opportunity for me to meet his family."
"Did Aiden ask you to?"
"No, I offered."
"But why would you do that?"
"Like I said it is to meet his family."
"And you think meeting his family is good idea considering our plans?"
"I know we have plans but I am going to Phuket with Aiden. And my decision is final."
The line went dead.
Two days later, White and Aiden boarded a plane to Phuket. The flight took an hour and twenty five minutes.
It had been a sunny day but by late afternoon the warmth was tempered by a cool breeze.
Aiden, in a light blue linen shirt and shorts sat contentedly beside White on the plane. He hardly noticed that his spirits were agitated.
Aiden wondered how his parents would receive him or whether they would like him.
Once the plane landed and their luggage was claimed, they were soon inside a black minivan that would transport them to the resort.
On the way White relaxed and laid himself out to entertain Aiden.
"I was thinking we should do a bit of kayaking into the tangled mangroves. Maybe even visit a local farm or we could learn the ancient art of batik painting."
The island of Phuket besides it's many powderpuff beaches, candy colored mansions, a nod to the days of tin barons. The island also had rolling hills and thick rainforests framed by gushing waterfalls.
Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Tri Trang Beach, the resort itself was set in tropical gardens and had three outdoor pools.
Aiden's family were waiting in the hotel's elegant foyer.
His parents were delighted to see him for they were devoted each other and welcomed White with gracious friendliness.
Aiden's Aunt however, did not like White and made no effort to hide her feelings.
Around six in the evening, when they were dressed for dinner, White commented half laughing as they rode the elevator down.
"Your Aunt dose not like me."
Aiden became uneasy and felt the need to mollify him.
"My Aunt dose not like people when she first meets them."
"Is that so," White inclined his head at Aiden.
Aiden nodded and quickly added.
"I really wanted everyone to like you."
"I know you did."
They all went onto the beach where the dinner table had been set up with cream colored cloth peonies and hydrangeas floral arrangements and lighted candles in glass holders.
And Aiden felt it was a pity when White probed into his father's retirement plans to find out whether Aiden would be set up with some form of a trust fund should anything happen to them.
Even though Aiden saw no change in his father's expression, he knew the inquisition was displeasing to the entire family.
He could feel the disquiet around the table.
Aiden's mother quickly changed the subject to himself and his work.
White made no secret of his ambitions and Aiden saw nothing wrong with that.
White it seems believed that money was necessary for one's happiness.
It was a gorgeous morning in Phuket again, Aiden dragged himself out of bed, stuck his feet into house slippers and hurried a long to his Aunt's room.
Aiden found her doing her daily affirmations when he entered.
"Why don't you like White?" He asked after they both sat down for a chat.
It was a subject uppermost in his mind.
Aiden's Aunt eyed him fondly and finally said.
"He is too ambitious to the point of being desperate. And I noticed a glint in his eyes that told me he was not above doing the most vile thing if that brings him closer his goal."
"But he has been nothing but kind and loving towards me," Aiden felt the need to defend him.
"Well, he is very clever or cunning is the word I am looking for about hiding his true intentions if you ask me," his Aunt was not easily swayed.
"And what do you think those intentions are?"
"Very sinister ones. I can feel it my gut. Be very careful with him."
Aiden shifted with frightening anxiety when he saw ominous look in his Aunt's eyes.
"I do not want to believe he has sinister plans. He has been the sweetest, kindest, most generous person I know."
"Han told me you two met at a party some time ago."
"Are you in contact with Han?"
"Yes."
"But why? When you know we are no longer together?"
Aiden could not hide the feeling of betrayal from his voice.
He is nice young man and I like him compared to this one whom you are forcing down our throat. I think you should get back together with Han."
"But Aunt," Aiden exploded.
"He broke things off with me. No. I will not go back to him."
"I am sure he did because you drove him mad with your constant whingeing and grumbling. If you were not my favorite nephew I would have given you a good spanking myself."
"Dearest Aunt! How can you be so heartless? You are supposed to be on my side not his."
"I am on no one's side my dear, I am simply stating facts."
"I think I will go to my room now."
Aiden stormed out of his Aunt's room with an air of insolence.
White had suggested they go for a swim in one of the tropical pools at the resort and later do a cookery class together.
They chose a pool with a tranquil atmosphere amidst the beauty and comfort of a lush tropical garden.
The green surrounding the pool gave it a secluded feel.
While White swam laps around the swimming pool Aiden decided to explore the tropical gardens.
As he strolled through the lush garden, he closed his eyes, allowing the cool, pleasant breeze to sweep over him.
"I hope you are daydreaming about me."
Aiden quickly opened his eyes and saw Han standing in front him like a magnificent manifestation.
"Did you come all the way to Phuket to stalk me?"
The contempt in Aiden's voice was unmistakable.
Unmoved by Aiden's contempt Han rather commented.
"You always think everything I do is because of you."
You bastard! Aiden was thinking as he gave his rejoinder.
"And is that not the truth?"
"You are so wrong with that backward thinking."
Aiden linked his hands together and interrogated.
"Do you want to tell White about us?"
Han laughed as put his hands in the pockets of his trousers.
"I don't indulge in salacious gossip."
Aiden flinched at his careless laugh with a look of fury.
"Why are you pretending to be indifferent?"
"Me pretending to be indifferent? So you expect me to keep longing for you. Don't you think that's little greedy, when you have clearly moved on."
Though Aiden was enraged he could not deny the throbbing carnal heat between them.
And with their eyes passionately locked together Aiden found it hard to breath.
Wanting desperately to break this throbbing carnal spell binding them together, Aiden raised his hands to push Han away.
But Han took domination of his hands.
"Aiden, please control your emotions," he advised.
"You are starting to look pathetic. Or do you want your current beau to find I was the best you have ever had?"
With Han mocking him coupled with his anxiety boiling into a frenzy was a little too much for Aiden.
Aiden cursed Han with his eyes for making him feel this way.
"Stop talking nonsense. You are just envious of White because he is with me."
"I am not envious of White. I have better things that preoccupy my time."
Just as Aiden was about give a scathing reply, he heard White call his name.
"Aiden."
Aiden remained still and silent.
White called again.
"Aiden."
"No, I can't let him see us together or he might get suspicious," Aiden impetrated with apprehension in his eyes.
Han quickly sprung into action and pulled Aiden into a cluster of palm trees.
