Terry got his schedule; now he needs classy clothes for the job and a good perfume. Good thing that the clothes shop and all other shops are near the town hall. He just crossed some roads and there he arrived at the Toms & Hileas’ thrift shop. The place didn’t look too fancy so he wasn’t too nervous to go inside. Before he could look at the price tags, a woman, about her fifties, approached him and asks if she could assist. While telling her what he needed, her brow raised and the woman interfered him to ask why would he go to Route 31 just to buy some office clothes. Terry smiled a little before admitting that he’s going to work for the Mayor as his secretary. Because of this statement, the little smile on her face vanished then she rushed out off her shop. Minutes later, a man with the same dark hair came to his view and asked where the woman named Hileas went. Terry pointed the direction where she ran then the other went out as well. Now he’s all alone again but he was able to pick what he needs and left some money on the counter before heading out – the cashier is obviously not there because the owners ran away for some reason he don’t understand. Terry was about to leave his payment and go back home when everyone arrived at the thrift shop – the mayor was there, Hileas was there, the man who he thought might be Toms was there. They were talking, more like arguing until they settled, took Terry’s bag of clothes and returned his money. Their fight end up with the store closed and locked. He was about to ask Mayor Corth what was happening but he interrupted to admit that the town folks don’t like big changes; and a new neighbor just says disaster. The mayor just laughed at their state and added that Terry would be a good disturbance – since he’s still young and stupid.
Two weeks before his initial pay is going to be hard since his money won’t be enough to feed him thrice a day. So while he was arranging his stuff around his new home, he was thinking of a way to save as much. The summer house was surprisingly dustless and in a pristine condition so he didn’t have to bother trying to make it better but a couch could sure make it perfect; but again, he’s broke so the floor it is. Terry was cooking dinner when his neighbor, a muscular man, went out to throw everything inside his house. There, Terry saw the stranger’s unblemished couch, and it was made of green velvet! It would be the best day ever if he could have that couch before the trash collector sees it. He waited for the owner to stop dumping his stuff before walking out and inspecting the couch. By the way, the muscular man was already inside his house for an hour when Terry was checking it. But it wasn’t as easy as he thought it would be because his neighbor ran out and called him sternly. He did not let his fear eat him so he was able to ask the stranger if he could have the couch. The man nodded and said that the lad could have everything on the lawn if his car can carry it all. There Terry smiled and said that he lives just next door. His neighbor fell silent then he went to get his car and drove it approaching the town hall. He did not understand why everyone seemed alarmed; not all teenagers are rough and loud. Yet this did not let him give up just yet, or be disturbed by because Route 31 will be better than home for it’s too strange and isolated.
