MISCHA DROVE BACK from downtown Périville to Le Domain as dusk settled over Belroux. She parked her car in the same distant corner of the lot and in the backseat, changed from her nice clothes to the running outfit. She carried a bag of items from the pharmacy and the sleeping back and made her way back to the forest, the portion that was off the beaten path, where she planned to hide and, she hoped, sleep in obscurity.320Please respect copyright.PENANAjEtuW1Kcpo
She found a good spot and positioned the sleeping bag just as she wanted it. Then she walked about ten yards away and sat behind a thick tree trunk. She needed the flashlight to read the directions on the kit. It'd been five years since she'd dyed her hair, and that was for her role as the streetwise Shelly in 1/2 Shelly, and that was by a make-up technician, not following the instructions on a box. But how hard could it be?
When would she leave this little hideout? She had to admit that she felt pretty safe there. It was tempting, albeit illogical, to stay there for days.
But she had to get moving. She had a small window of opportunity and once it closed, it would stay closed.
"Oh, Mischa," she whispered to herself. "You better know what you're doing."
