When we arrived at our houses , they wanted to invite me to their house but I said I had to take care of my dog and that's how now I'm preparing dinner for three. Rachel is playing with Milo, who's enjoying himself quite well and Trevor is helping me with the food.
Rachel put some music on and she was dancing, making Milo bark hysterically.
This house was never so loud.
" Thank god you are my neighbours."
Imagine other neighbours listening to this noise , they would call the police.
Trevor chuckled.
" Sorry , she is too loud sometimes."
I shook my head.
" She is a sweet kid."
Trevor was chopping the chicken so elegantly and he almost looked like a cook.
" You're secretly a cook?" I said teasing.
He winked at me.
" Don't tell anyone."
I laughed.
We prepared so much that if it was only me , I had a plate for each day of the week.
Rachel kept talking about her friends and Trevor kept hitting his sister's leg from under the table to make her stop, making it too obvious.
She ignored him and kept talking.
They have a beautiful relationship between them , it must be nice.
And after rambling on and on she fell asleep on the sofa. Milo kept watch over her while we washed the plates.
" Can we come here everyday ? She sleeps immediately when we come here." Trevor said laughing.
" She has trouble sleeping?"
He smiled sadly and nodded.
" She has nightmares."
I looked back at her , Milo was waving his tail and watching her.
" How about you leave her here for today and you go get yourself a break?" I said.
Trevor looked at me.
" No , that's okay."
I put my hand on his shoulder.
" You look exhausted. Go , I'll bring her tomorrow and if anything happens I'll call you I promise."
He put his hand on mine and shook his head.
" She has very bad nightmares and she can have an attack , I don't want you to witness that."
I looked into his eyes.
I'm not the type to say these things , they two somehow changed me back to my younger days.
" You live next door." I chuckled.
He sighed and looked to his sister.
" Go and have a beer with your friends or something." I said waving my hand.
He chuckled.
" What about you ?"
" I don't have friends. I'll be here all night." I said.
He looked sad for me.
" Don't look so sad, it's my choice that I don't have friends."
He furrowed his brows.
" Why?"
I sighed.
" Long story." I said as I went to put a blanket on Rachel and patting Milos head.
Suddenly a hand grabbed my wrist and turned me around.
" Tell me."
I chuckled.
" Trevor, it's none of your business now is it ? And I told you it's a long story."
" I know it's none of my business." He said while sitting on the sofa.
" And I have all night." He continued.
" Why do you wanna know so bad?" I said getting a little pissed.
He grabbed my hand again.
" Because I want to."
" You know , you never give a proper answer."
He got up and pulled me to him. His nose touched mine.
" Did I give you a proper answer now ?"
His breath touched my cheek.
I couldn't look away. His eyes trapped me in place. I've never seen eyes like his. They showed determination.
" You don't even know me." I said breathlessly.
" That's the more reason I want to know." He whispered.
He put his hand on my cheek and stroked it.
" Why ?" I kept repeating.
But my resolve was long gone.
He inched closer and closer. I couldn't breath.
When his lips touched mine, I sucked in breath.
My stomach flipped and my knees almost buckled.
This was the first time that a guy made me feel this way.
Made me feel alive or that I want to live.
Not after him.
Trevor kissed me softly and pulled me closer.
When he let go , I could regain composure.
" You feel it too, don't you? Let me in Rosa." He whispered moving his lips, stroking my cheeks with them and making me shiver in response.
" That's the more reason I don't want to tell you." I said.
He sighed.
" Fine, don't tell me about your past but, you have to let me take you to dinner." He grinned.
I chuckled.
" To that I can accept."
" Rosa Devine , you are a very weird but interesting lady." He chuckled.
I punched him softly in the stomach.
" If you think that about me than you shouldn't have asked me to dinner." I smirked.
He nodded.
" True, but you know what?" He whispered as he inched closer again.
" What?"
" I'm weirder." he said kissing me softly.
Milo kept waving his tail, watching us , which was getting awkward but Trevor didn't let go for the whole night. He kept me to him and we talked about random stuff. It was nice. He was the very first person after a long time to make me talk so much.
He's a nice guy and that's the more reason why I can never , ever , tell him what I did, how I killed the man I loved with my own two hands.
