I looked down at the sparkling clear water below me. It never occurred to me till we left New York City that water could be so different across the world. Back in New York the water was always so polluted and dark that took a great deal of time and patience to fully control it, yet here not too far from Germany’s shore the water is so light and clean that I only needed to use my eyes to conjure up a hurricane not that I would because there were so many innocent fishermen standing around the riverbed.666Please respect copyright.PENANAkvYyZKCDrq
“Clean fresh water is a quiddity on this continent with a majority of its countries being landlocked.” I turn to a smiling Professor who walks to take his place as my right-hand man. “I’ve heard from traveling friends that chocolate from Europe has no comparison to others found around the world, although personally, I believe German chocolate is the best.” I scoff at his remark. These past few months out at sea has softened me up to him and I’ve become well acquainted with his surprisingly large selective sweet tooth nature. The journey to his place in Germany has already been lengthened as a result of his countless extra stops in various places across Africa and Europe in search of a store that will restock his stash of German chocolate.666Please respect copyright.PENANAq2rF7AZ8HN
“Will there be anymore stops for such chocolate now that we’ve entered the Weser River?”666Please respect copyright.PENANA9MKzEFAKu4
“No.” I turn to him with an eyebrow raised in question, yet with no other movement to express my emotions. Professor glances down at me knowing me so well already to know that I want an explanation. “I have a chocolate factory on my grounds and the renovations should already be finished by now.” 666Please respect copyright.PENANART13G3aH6w
“How much longer?”666Please respect copyright.PENANAjIERLA76sz
“Within an hour we will be within my property line.” I turned back to face the front of the cramped river boat we transitioned to once reaching Germany to fit the river terrain. I took a deep breath filling my lungs with the new air. Just like how the air felt cleaner and the water felt lighter, I felt that my time in Germany would be just as satisfying. It won’t make up for the fact that my parents are no longer living, but here with Professor, I feel that I will grow to become stronger and a better person so when the time comes I will be prepared to avenge my parents’ death.666Please respect copyright.PENANAp79Klk9yCa
