Anna is in Edison's house; in the bathroom. Edison stood right outside the door and watched her.
"So, this is where it happened?" Anna stepped close to the sink and ran her hand along the mirror.
"Yeah."
"Hmm. I feel a strange energy here."
"Energy?"
Anna shivered. "This dead girl hates Nora."
"Why?"
"Because of you."
"Me?"
"Pretty much," Anna replied as she brushed past Edison and walked into his bedroom which adjoined the bathroom.
Edison shut the bedroom door and sat down on his bed.
Anna sat down in the leather chair at his desk. A sparkling angel paperweight caught her eye and she picked it up. "Beautiful."
"Is Nora in danger at all?
"Only if you're with her," Anna said as she set the angel down.
"I don't get it."
"This dead girl thinks she needs to protect you."
"From what?"
"Nora."
"That's crazy."
"I agree. I found out girl lived not far from here. I was in the county records office all afternoon. I skipped class for you, Edison."
"Where exactly did she used to live?"
"I don't want to creep you out."
"Just tell me."
"Alright. The records say that she lived in that fancy house; the one a few blocks over from Nora's."
"The Victorian?"
"Yes."
"Nora sometimes babysits the twins that live there."
"That's nice." Anna moved from the chair to sit on the bed. "So, I've been thinking. Maybe you should start eating lunch with my group. I want to see what this dead girl does when you're with me."
"Did you find out her name?"
"Gracie Harper."
"I appreciate all the info you found and want to help you search for more, but I have to get some homework done."644Please respect copyright.PENANAWonWpHhwyE

Anna stood up. "Sure, okay."
Edison walked her to the front door. "Thanks for coming over."

"Yeah, see you," Edison said.
In his room a few minutes later, he texted Nora but received no reply.
When will she talk to me again?

A few days later Carter and Anna were sitting in his sports car in a secluded park. It was late afternoon.
Carter drummed his hand on the steering wheel. "Anna, no one's ever dumped me before."
Ann pulled down the visor mirror and touched up her hair. "You knew it couldn't last forever, right?"
"I know...but I have feelings for you. Love feelings."
Anna snapped the visor shut and turned to Carter. She gently kissed him on the cheek. "I think I love you too, but we can't."
"You're still freaked about the being second cousins thing."
Ann looked out the window. "I can't ruin my family."
"Then let's elope after graduation."
When Anna turned to face him again she had tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry, Carter. I can't do that." She got out of the car.
Carter watched as she walked down the sidewalk, her fitted jeans and blouse hugging every curve.
"Damn it," he muttered.
