Just as I said that, there was a terrible screech from behind us. I looked back to see that damn naga with the crimson scales burst his way through the dome. Wisps of smoke curled up from seared patches of his skin as he slithered his way closer.917Please respect copyright.PENANACLal1vEOIl
"Oof, he's a tough one, ain't he?" Veran commented, chuckling. I carefully slid off the back of the horse, unsheathing my blade.917Please respect copyright.PENANAH3nKjVCogY
"Now, Veran. You might have sobered up a little, but you're going to stay on the back of that horse anyways, understand?" I said, not looking away from the naga that was making his way towards us. 917Please respect copyright.PENANAgMicghZa9J
"What? No way! I am perfectly fine!" I briefly glanced back to see Veran pulling his bow from his back, and nocking an arrow. He fired off a shot just fine. A shot that zoomed right over the naga's head, crashed against the dome, and caught on fire. "Oh. Shoot."917Please respect copyright.PENANAv5yaqrWDUg
Meanwhile, the naga was almost upon us. He had lost his trident, but his claws were still quite menacing. I raised my scimitar and ran forward. As the naga lurched forward, aiming to take my head between his claws, I dropped, letting my momentum slide me across the sand. I rolled to my feet just in time for the naga to whip around, his claws skidding across my chest, leaving shallow slashes in their wake. 917Please respect copyright.PENANAdaP2jUzzco
I swung my blade, leaving a long gash along his exposed arm, then backpedaled. The naga hissed, the bright red fins along his face flaring outward. I was pretty sure I really made him mad now. The naga's upper half lurched forward as a thunk could be heard. From where I stood, I could see piece of an arrow sticking out of his back.917Please respect copyright.PENANACUW4MhhumP
"Ha! I told you I was fine!" I heard Veran shout. The naga snarled, coming after me again. As he reached for me, I sliced at his hands, which caused the creature to recoil. I brought my scimitar back around, deepening the slash on his arm. 917Please respect copyright.PENANA3N3ZfUn1wT
He hissed, sputtered, and growled. He tried to slither back, but it wasn't working out well for him. I waylaid more slashes over his arms mostly, but I got a few strikes in on his chest.917Please respect copyright.PENANAOURdtdMTDM
The naga collapsed backwards over his own tail. Without missing a beat, I planted one foot on his chest, and rammed the tip of my blade into his chest. 917Please respect copyright.PENANAvncH7MW6D9
"Not so cocky, now are we, hmm?" I tore my blade free, and kicked the naga on the side of the head. "Suicidal bastard," I grumbled, sheathing my scimitar. I made my way back to Veran and the horse, taking the reigns from Veran. "You crazy bastard. Thank the gods you didn't shoot me." 917Please respect copyright.PENANAHrvFj0v5f0
"Listen, m'drunk, not stupid." Veran leaned forward in the saddle, draping himself over the back of the horse, closing his eyes. I looked around, wondering how long we were going to be under here.917Please respect copyright.PENANAhD95A3VXil

Eventually, after what felt like forever, the water did fall. Once it had completely receded back into the sea, the dome broke apart and vanished. I looked to where Moorehelm once stood. Nothing but jagged rocks were there now. It was still night, and the dark clouds hung heavy in the air. Distant rolls of thunder could still be heard from the storm the naga had conjured.917Please respect copyright.PENANAbcfXS5vvkl
By now, Veran was fast asleep on the horse's back, and I didn't want to wake him, so I led the horse along as we continued on our way.917Please respect copyright.PENANAWlMsc2LSeu
I tried to wrap my head around what the naga could possibly want with the Bloody Isthmus. Sure, it was an extremely strategic location on land. But the Naga had the whole seas to themselves. What did they gain from destroying Moorehelm? And I'd never seen any naga conjure up a tidal wave like that before...917Please respect copyright.PENANAa4SBnTtOx4
A realization dawned on me. It was a test. That's all this was. Surely, the next place they were going to drop a tidal wave on was Alderas.917Please respect copyright.PENANA2Um4tv8Gld
Or maybe I was just paranoid, but it was too many lives were at stake to not be paranoid. I had to warn them.917Please respect copyright.PENANAv2wmX2Aym4
