On the third day, people started walking round and round the cafeteria aimlessly. As if they were only looking for something to do. Mark himself could hardly stay in place. They couldn't even look outside ! Mr. Smith had closed the blinds to prevent them from trying to break the windows. Mark was starting to miss the green lawn that surrounded the parking lot next to the cafeteria, something he had never thought he would do. The school wasn't a particularly nice building. But his boredom was so strong that he now could have spent at least half an hour gazing at the benches next to the bus stop. He then thought about his house, about his room. Oh ! How he would love to be in his bed ! He could see his bathroom in his mind and wished he could just jump into the shower. Three days already ! Three days without getting out, without washing and without sleeping and eating properly ! Then he thought about his mother. He wasn't so surprised that she had agreed with the Principal. After all, the promise of a few days free from her son must have sound wonderful for her. She would be able to do whatever she wanted without his disapproval or even his presence. She was probably relieved that she did not have to take care of him. As if she ever really did ! She had never given a shit about him, it wasn't not about to start now ! He was so angry at her. She had never been a mother, she had never had an interest in him. The only thing important was her reputation. Of course, other people mustn't think she's a bad mother ! Women ! They were all like this ! They all had left him, his mom, Jenna ! They kept bringing him down ! No. Jenna had not left him. Jenna was dead. He couldn't be mad at her. He couldn't resent her. She was dead, so she had never stopped loving him. Letting out a breath, he went back to his seat next to the wall. He didn't care about that stupid lawn anymore.659Please respect copyright.PENANAidmUS0Apw3

When the lunch was delivered to them, the cheerleaders refused to eat and threw everything at the walls and the floor. They began yelling 'Freedom, freedom !” wildly and two of them, Rebecca Greene, who was the captain of the cheer squad, and Kate Barrett, her best friend, who was her second in command spoke loudly:
“Principal Smith, this is a warning. By keeping us in this room, you are violating our freedom.” Her red hair was moving wildly as she spoke frantically. “We are asking you to let us go because you are not going to solve the case this way. You have tried, this past three days, to make the culprit react. But it obviously isn't working.”
Some students in the room dared to express their approbation.
“If you don't want to consider our request, we won't be afraid to destroy the place and physically threaten you. We are more determined than ever, we won't back down until you let us leave this place. This is against freedom and against the Human Rights. We won't stay in this room one more single day. We will sue you and put you to jail. This is now YOUR chance to decide !”
Half of the students started applauding. Mark thought that he had never heard her speaking so cleverly. However, Mr Smith must have been cruelly waiting for the girls to be done because, as soon as they had finished, a dozen policemen rushed into the room. They went straight to the cheerleaders and tried to arrest them but the girls defended themselves, they screamed and struggled to escape from their grasp. Calmly, every policeman took out his gun and the girls finally stopped shouting and let themselves be taken out of the room. On the evening, Mr Smith made a declaration in which he said that the girls were being questioned by the police and that they wouldn't come back until a few days. He also told them that, because of the rebellion and to push the killer to turn himself in, he would now put a strident noise on an hourly basis during the night to prevent the students from sleeping. This was proved to be working the following night as everyone kept waking up and no one was able to get any rest.
