Never would I have ever thought I would underestimate the lengths a jealous woman is willing to go for a man. Stank eyes and sabotage are one matter, but murder is something entirely different. Especially when murder involves the use of nuclear weapons and a small town. As I looked down at the vast destruction Mary caused, all I can think of is that Jeff isn’t even that good looking. His nose is crooked, his nails are always mysteriously dirty, and he styles his hair in the same slick combed back style from never washing his hair. He is the least likeliest person to attract Mary, the Queen Bee and the assistant to HQ’s maker, Martin Hagger.
Speaking of Martin, my phone vibrates in my back right pocket from a call from him.
“Experiment ST458 you were supposed to check into HQ before going to your place,” Martin said with mild annoyance.
“You know, I like it better when you're in the office and you call me Stella as if I was a like everybody else in the office,” I said twirling my long straight black hair surveying the nonexistent town I use to call home. Martin doesn’t skip a beat to respond.
“You are not like everybody else in the office and should I remind you of what will happen should anybody else figure out what you are?” I smile to myself. Patently he must not know then that Mary knows about me: well, she has to know about me because I don’t think she would go to the extreme to step off a nuclear bomb for just anyone.
“No, but let’s say someone did find out about me. Then what should I do,” I asked already knowing the answer and just wanting the confirmation.
“Ubit' drifta,” He recited in Russian.
“Kill the snitch,” I repeated back in English before ending the call. I took one last look at the destroyed town. I really liked the area: there was a bakery that baked fresh bread every morning that always mixed well with the smell of rich wine from the store next door. Unfortunately, all good things had to pass and I was not one new to changing times. Besides I had other issues to attend to, for example, I had to deal with Mary. Poor ignorant Mary has no idea what she got herself into by trying to kill me although it is an honorable effort she put forward to think a nuclear bomb can kill me.

The next morning, Martin paged me to come to his office. I saunter to his soundproof office. His door locks automatically behind me and with a quick glance at the ceilings, I can see his cameras are shut down too.
“I see you’ve already dealt with Mary.” I nod, turning to see his hands clasped as if we were discussing the weather rather than Mary’s sudden and permanent disappearance. “I was hoping she would figure it out.” My ears perked up as I gave him a questioned look. He sighs and relaxes his body as he explains, “She is such a snake-like selfish person that he knew she would keep what she knows for herself and didn’t have many friends which makes it easier to have her erased.” I grinned at him. Time and time again, Martin has proved himself to be worthy as the only person I let live when I escaped from the experiment. He always has an objective viewpoint when it comes to situations I cause, and he is also the best in the world at getting rid of all traces of people.
“How have you done it this time?” I asked as he pulls out two tall champagne glasses.
“Everyone connected to Mary will receive an email in,” He checks his watch, “five point two seconds.” He pulls out a bottle of pinot noir. Right on time his computer dings with a new email message and he smiles as he turns the computer screen towards me to open the email. A quick glance at the address bar confirmed my suspicion that he would make the sender practically untraceable to himself. The email address is the company’s general email address. Obviously, that would mean that should anyone look for the sender it would mean that it is someone within the company and by the restrictions sent up by Martin a person can’t send an email to himself; therefore, the send would have to be the one person who didn’t receive the same email. Martin grinned at me putting the wine bottle away.
“So who sent this hypnotizing email, this time?” Martin chuckled.
“Well, who better to send the email than sleazy Jeff?” I laugh and smile in agreement as we clink glasses sipping our wine together.
