Today is practically life or death for me. I gave what Cyr said some thought and I decided that maybe it'll be best I tell my parents. I just have to pick the right moment. I hoped that today at school, Justin and his friends wouldn't pick on me. I don't know how much of this I can even take. Currently, i'm heading to my study hall period. I closed my locker door and started to make my way to the library when someone grabbed my arm and pushed me against the lockers.
"Welcome back to school, pansy."
I gulped. "Justin...please..."
"Justin, please." Justin mocked me. "There's no such thing as 'please' in my world. I guess you need to be taught another lesson, geek." He said then punched me into the stomach. I dropped my books to the floor and held onto my stomach. I started to moan out in pain.
Justin and his friends started to laugh and laugh and then they all took turns hitting me and kicking me everywhere. It was like an endless cycle of hell. There was no way in hell that i'll be able to make it out of this. I started to feel pain all over my body and I felt myself slowly starting to fall into unconsciousness.
"Hey! What are you doing?!"
It was Cyr.
Justin and his friends stopped beating me up and ran off. I just sat there, trying to cling onto life. Cyr ran up to me and looked me over.
"I'm taking you to the nurse." He said then started to pick me up.

"I gave him some pain medication. I'm going to keep him here and call his parents." The nurse said to Cyr.
I laid in one of the beds in the nurse's office.
"Thank you." Cyr said then looked at me and held my hand.
"Jonah,"
I glanced over at Cyr. I was in some serious pain. It felt like my bones have been cracked but when the nurse checked me, she said that my ribs are just sprained. I had a tiny bandage on the edge of my bottom lip and a large bandage on the right side of my face.
"Jonah, I wish I could've been there sooner."
I shook my head. "You didn't know. Though, how did you know?"
"I know that you walk by yourself to the library everyday and nobody is around so I figured that that's when Justin was going to attack. I snuck out of gym, though so my gym teacher doesn't know i'm even here."
Cyr chuckled. "It's worth it, though. Just to keep you safe."
I smiled. "You're the best."
"Best boyfriend?" He teased.
I chuckled softly then nodded. "Best boyfriend ever."
Cyr smiled then kissed my cheek gently. That's when the nurse came back in.
"I got into contact with your mom, Jonah. She'll be here any minute."
I nodded. "First stop, my mom."
"Shouldn't be too hard. She seems pretty understanding." Cyr said.
"Yeah but it's my dad that's the problem."
Cyr nodded. "I wouldn't know. My dad left you know."
Then, the door opened and in came my mom.
"Oh...Jonah." She walked over to me and looked me over.
"Are you okay? Who did this to you?"
"Justin and his friends." I replied.
"Why would they do this to you? Have this always been happening?"
I nodded.
"Why?"
I sighed. Time to come out with the truth.
"Because...i'm gay. That's why."
I watched as my mom's eyes widen and her jaw nearly dropped.
"Somehow, Justin and his friends found out and they started to target me. Before, they would just pick on me but now, they beat me up." I explained.
"The other day, Justin and his friends threw Jonah into the school's pool. He would've drown if I didn't go and save him." Cyr explained.
I watched my mom as she seemed confused and heartbroken. She then sighed.
"I'm sorry I never told you earlier. I was afraid you were going to disown me for being gay."
"Jonah, please don't think like that. I'll never stop loving you. I'm sorry if I pressured you into liking girls. I've always thought you were just a late bloomer." She said.
I nodded.
"Your father on the other hand is a different story."
"I know. I just told Cyr about him."
"We'll talk about this more with your father tonight okay? Right now, i'm taking you home."
***
"And there you have it, Jaime. Mom was totally cool about me being gay. She took me straight home so that's why I wasn't in my classes."
"I know, Cyr told me."
I sat on my bed as I talked to Jaime on the phone.
"What about your dad?"
"Mom and I are waiting for him to come home. We're going to discuss it over dinner with the whole family. Well, minus my little brother of course. He's still too young to know about things like this."
"Good luck. Look, I gotta go. See you tomorrow." Jaime said.
"Bye." I hung up then laid back on my bed. "This week has seriously been eventful.
