The day has finally come. The day where I finally get to attend Sorin Academy after I received the acceptance letter just a few weeks ago. Sorin Academy is supposed to be the top notch prestigious academy that has excellent teachers from all around the world and they teach things that you won't get to learn from any old high school. It's not very easy to get accepted into Sorin Academy. My dad, who's pretty much well known in all of England, pulled some strings so I can attend the academy. He's a professor that teaches at another high school. My mom and dad wasn't sure why I wanted to attend Sorin. They felt like Sorin might be too difficult for me. Especially since it's supposed to be a 'rich' high school. My dad might teach at a high school, but we're far from rich. We're not poor either. I guess you can say we're middle class or something like that, but my parents don't mind the middle class life. My dad tries to provide for us as much as he can.
I took a deep breath as I gazed up at the huge castle like Academy. It looked eerie, but also really historic and entrancing. I still can't believe that i'm finally going to be attending this school. I gripped the straps of my bags then stepped inside the school. Just like how it's huge on the outside, it's also huge on the inside too. I feel like I could get lost here or something.
Oh geez. I hope I don't get lost going to class or worst...going to the bathroom, I thought.
I sighed then made my way to the office to get my schedule and information. The lady at the front desk handed me my schedule and room key then the assistant to the Headmaster walked up to me and greeted me.
"Hello. You must be Riley McCaw correct?" She said.
I nodded. "Yup. I mean, yes Mrs...."
"Call me Ms. Riverstein. I'll be escorting you to your dorm if that's alright with you?"
I nodded as I smiled at her. Ms. Riverstein looked like she was middle aged and she was a little tall. She had really pale skin and jet black hair that was tied up in a bun. She was also wearing the typical office outfit.
The both of us left the office and started to walk around the school. The hallways were something else. Both walls had numerous pictures of old and middle aged people and the walls were the color of crimson red. I couldn't help, but to look around and take everything in.
"These pictures are of all the past Headmasters that took over this school and right in the middle is the largest picture of the founder of this school, Headmaster Dean Michaels." She explained.
"Headmaster Dean Michaels...Wait, doesn't that mean that the current Headmaster is the son of the founder?" I asked.
Ms. Riverstein nodded. "You are correct, my child. The Headmaster has a son that attends this school. He's hoping that Sebastian would take over this school like his father and great-great grandfathers did."
My eyes widen. "Woooooah. This school has so much history."
Ms. Riverstein nodded again. "Indeed." She said.
We walked through the boy's dorm hallway and reached my dorm room.
"Each student at this school gets their own room." She said, opening up the door to my room.
"Wow. Really? No wonder this school is so huge."
Ms. Riverstein had a faint smile. "Hurry and set your bags down. We need to keep going."
I nodded then went into my room and quickly set my bags down before walking out and closing the door behind me. Me and Ms. Riverstein continued our walk around the school.
"I hope you'll enjoy your stay at Sorin Vampire Academy." She said.
I immediately stopped in my tracks.
Va-Vampire???
I looked at Ms. Riverstein and stared at her.
"Vampire? Wait, this is a Vampire school?" I asked in disbelief.
Ms. Riverstein turned to me and nodded. "Yes. Is there a problem?" She asked, looking concerned.
I quickly shook my head. "N-no. No problem."
Actually, there IS a huge problem. See, i'm sorta...Well, i'm actually a half human/half vampire and the reason why it's a problem is because it's forbidden for half beings to attend vampire schools or anything that has to do with vampires. I'm not sure why it's forbidden, but it's been a law that was made up a very long time ago. Anyways, if anybody finds out that i'm a half being, not only would I get expelled, (which will be the least of my problems) but I also might get destroyed for tricking vampires.
I didn't think that my dream school was a full blooded vampire school. This is what I get for not looking over stuff before I practically start signing my life away. Which I technically did when I accepted their letter. Well, I can't turn back now. If I tell Ms. Riverstein the truth, that would be the end of me and I also can't just up and leave the school without a reason. Vampires are too smart, but I hope that they aren't smart enough to tell the difference in my blood from others.
I sighed softly then I noticed that Ms. Riverstein was staring at me. Uh oh. I hope she hasn't caught on to me. I stood there, stiff as she examined me. I smiled nervously.
"Um...is there a problem?" I asked.
"Yes. There is." She said.
Oh no.
I gulped and blinked my eyes. Then, Ms. Riverstein smiled.
"You're safe here. There's no need for you to keep your fangs hidden."
"Huh?" I said.
"You're wearing the hidden fang caps right?" She asked.
I gently touched the teeth which are supposed to be fangs right now, but aren't because i'm a late blooming vampire. Most vampires get their abilities and have their fangs grown in when they're younger, but since i'm a half being, it's taking me a little while longer.
"Um...Y-yes! I am! I guess I forgot to take them out." I said, smiling nervously.
Ms. Riverstein nodded. "Make sure you take them out. They aren't good for your fangs if they're kept in." She noted.
I nodded. "Thanks for the advice."
"Right. Let's continue on." She said then started to walk again.
I sighed in relief, glad that Ms. Riverstein hasn't caught me. Yet at least. It's definitely not going to be easy to hide my non-vampire self from a school full of full blooded vampires. I just hope that the small little dose of vampire blood inside me will keep them at bay and won't alert anybody. I can't afford to miss out on learning from my dream school and I definitely do not plan to die anytime soon.
