"Valentine! Wake up! You have school!" I heard footsteps going up the stairs. "Valentine! You have three seconds!" I could hear her getting closer and closer.
"Five more minutes mom!" I heard the door open, but I didn't open my eyes. I was curled into a ball and warmer than ever. Nothing was waking me up.
"One... Two... Three..." I opened one eye, I saw what was about to happen to me. One of my worst fears. My eyes widened, my tail puffed up.
"Shit..."
My mother had poured an entire bucket of cold water on me. I freaked out and jumped into the air from all fours. As I was in mid air, because of the shock, my body instantaneously transformed into my human form because of what happened. Then I landed on my two feet, shivering from the water and fear.
"What was that for!?" I asked, chattering my teeth.
She laughed, "I did warn you. Now get dressed. No one wants to see you like that."
She walked out of the room. My naked body was still shivering. I wobbled over to get a towel and dried off. I put on black jeans, White shirt, vest and tie. I looked in the mirror. "Gotta make a good impression."
As I was walking downstairs, I heard loud shuffling behind me. I looked back, frightened, and my sister came lunging toward me and pushed me down the stairs. I flew in the air then landed on my feet. I took a deep breath. "You are such an ass. You scared the shit outta me."
She laughed while sliding down the rail. "It's not my fault your such a pussy. I'm trying to get you ready for high school." she said while landing in front of me.
A loud echo ran through the room. "Girls!"
Amanda started to run towards the kitchen. I went down and swept my leg around to meet with hers. She fell with a loud thud. I giggled, jumped over her then made my way to the kitchen.
"Hey dad!" I sat down at the table. I looked at my plate and saw fish. "Mmmmm" My favorite" I rolled my eyes.
My dad turned around. "You need to work on your sarcasm girl."
I looked down... "Sorry sir"
"Where is your sister?"
"Here daddy!"
"There's my little angel!"
I rolled my eyes again and scarfed down my food. "Gotta go dad. Bye."
I made it to the front door, but my mom stopped me. "You make sure to be careful. People aren't always... nice..."
"I know mom, but I have to make friends with different race. We are the last of our kind."
"I know. I just get bad feelings sometimes. Good luck, be safe, and have fun!"

I walked out the door. Humans know that we exist, so we don't have to be afraid of not "blending in." We all have a truce that demons and humans get along. I looked at my watch. "Crap! I'm gonna be late!" I started running towards a building. I saw a tree next to it then started to climb to the top then jumped onto the roof of the building.
I was near the edge and looked down. There was my school. I went to the very edge. "Don't turn into a cat, don't turn into a cat." I jumped and had a good 8 stories to fall. I landed on my feet. I felt around. "Yes!!!" I put my hands in the air and did a little dance. I casually walked in the front door of the school.
I looked around to see if anyone saw the dance and I noticed this mysterious, dark, yet gorgeous women staring at me with a smirk on her face. I instantly turned red and walked away.
I pulled out the school map. I couldn't quit make out what the layout was then this preppy looking girl in a school uniform came up to me. "Hi! My name is Brenda! You're new here aren't you?"
"How can you tell?" I asked kinda freaked out.
" Well you're looking at a map dummy!. Well that and it's upside down."
"Oh." I looked down. "Well can you show me where room 128 is?"
"Sure! That class is right next to mine!" We started walking and I couldn't shake the bad vibe that I was getting from this girl. We arrived. "Here you are! 128! Good luck."

I walked into the classroom and saw a skinny white guy. The first thing that came to mind was... "Sit as close to him as possible." I took the seat right next to his desk. I sat right next to a really hairy guy. I heard him say that his name was Mikey. He must be a wolf. As I was looking across the room. I saw the same girl that saw me dance. I had to know her name. There's no way she is a human. Before I knew it the bell rang for class to end and I found myself staring at her. Right before she looked at me I wobbled out of my seat and ran outside. I noticed that there were two people pushing each other back and forth. I jumped over the rail with ease and walked up to them. They were definitely not human. Wolves maybe?
"Hey! Whats going on?" I shouted. They both stared at me. I instantly regretted saying anything.
"What does it matter to you? Kitty?"
"Look I don't want anyone getting hurt."
I could tell that the person to the left was ready to attack. He threw the first punch. It grazed my nose. The second guy tuned my around and punched me square in the face. I went down. As he went to get me up I turned into a cat. He threw me in the air. I transformed back into a human and landed on my feet. Not even thinking I grabbed a chair and hit him across the head. That was it. They were down. All I heard was "Shit just got real!" I looked around and people were staring at me. Oh no... I looked down and noticed that i had just a bra and pants on. I couldn't move. After a few short seconds someone took my hand and ran me into the girls bathroom.
I felt lightheaded and I noticed that this girl put a jacket on me. I couldn't really see. It was fuzzy. She held tissue to my nose and threw my head back. I giggled "You wouldn't happen to be able to heal people would you"
She tilted my head back more and laughed. It sounded kind of evil. But it was sweet at the same time. "No I don't, sorry. That kind of physical treatment is not my specialty."
I held my own tissue. And looked forward and saw her. Her eyes were a beautiful brown. "Wow, I really like your eyes."
"Aren't you the sweet talker, but you shouldn't get between wolf fights. They're like men. They show their fists, pump up their chests and all bets are off."
"I knew that they were wolves, but I also know that there is a treaty that can't be broken."

It caught me a bit off guard. "Your not with those other guys are you? Cause if you are I'm running."
He laughed "Nah. I'm to lazy. I saw the fight though. Pretty good. But I could've done better. Just kidding just kidding. I'm Mikey." He said while going in for the hug.
"Hi, I'm Valentine." I hugged him and purred a little.
" So, do you want to come sit with us?" He pointed over towards a bunch of big guys and a couple girls.
"That sounds nice, but I think I'm just gonna go home."
"How do you plan on sneaking out? There are guards everywhere. And not to mention, if a human sees you then they will tell someone."

"Thanks, I will." I waved at him and turned around. I was thinking what my best escape route was. Me sister and I always used to play hide and seek as kids. I noticed that it was harder for her to find me when I was in plain sight. So why not just go through the front door.
I entered the front building and saw a faculty member watching the area. ""Well, here goes nothing." I started casually walking towards the front door. He wasn't looking my way. I was a few feet from the door now, but I stepped on a bag of chips and it popped. He looked my way."Shit." Out of nowhere the same girl that pulled me into the bathroom saw what happened and ran into the teacher. I took this as my chance. I bolted out of the door. I ran a few blocks before I stopped.
I couldn't stop thinking about the treaty and what would've happened if I hadn't had stepped in. Granted that girl was right. It was pretty stupid. I got to my house. "Well can't go through my front door." I backed away from the wall a bit and started to run towards it. I planted my foot on the wall to give me a boost and I jumped in the air to grab onto the edge of the second floor where my patio was. I turned and looked out into the distance to see a few people fighting. I wasn't getting involved. Not again. I opened my door as quite as I could. As I was closing it I heard a throat being cleared. I turned around to see that my dad was standing there with his arms crossed.
"Hey... Dad!..." I said while giving an awkward chuckle. "How was your day?"
"I would much rather know how your day was. It has to be good considering you skipped out on school."
"How did you know that I was home?"
"I do have good hearing. You should know that because you got it from me. Lord knows that your mother has gone deaf." He cleared his throat again as if he said something wrong, looking behind him for his wife. "Get changed into work out clothes, you have some training to do."
"Why do I have to train. I can handle myself."
I came closer to me and poked my nose.
"OW!!"
"That's why. You have five minutes." he said while walking out of my bedroom. I went into my closet and got gym shorts and a loose shirt. I looked in the mirror and noticed that I had cat ears. "Damn it!" Looks like I'm stuck this way til I turn again.
I ran down the stairs and into the basement. "You're late"
"Sorry sir. I just wanted to look fabulous." I said sarcastically.
"Don't be a smart ass. Go get your gloves."
I jogged over to the back and put my gloves on. As I turned around my dad swung at me. I had no time to think and he got me on the mouth. He didn't hold anything back. As I was falling he wrapped his arms around my waist, picked me up off the ground and clothes lined me on the cold concrete floor. It knocked the wind out of me. I quickly rolled out of the way and back onto my feet. I stood there trying to focus. He approached me and went in for a kick to my face. I blocked it and grabbed his ankle and swung him around into the pole. He hit the back of his head and stayed down for a few seconds. As he got back up he wasn't in a fighting position anymore. "I'll give you one thing, you're a fighter. But you're stupid and lousy at times. You need to be strategic while fighting." He grabbed the back of his head. "We are cutting it short today. Good hit." He started walking up the stairs slowly.
"Dad..." I said quietly.
He stopped. "What is it?"
"Why are you training me? Why not Amanda?"
"I think that you are bound to do great things. You just be patient." He smiled at me and went upstairs.
I shook my head and went to continue training without the man.
