ASOBI NI IKU YO
Capítulo 6: We're back to play
Kuune visited the embassy and told Kio about the decision to leave Okinawa.
“I understand, I think you're right, Captain," said Kio as he looked down.
“Wait a minute, you're about to accept it so calmly!” shouted Manami.
“Manami it' s for the best” was trying to reassure her Chaika.
“For whom is it best? Not for me, I gave up my dream of being a secret CIA agent because of you and now you tell me you'll leave and I won't be the embassy's bodyguard anymore, it's not fair!”
“Manami...” I was trying to say.
“No, it's not fair! What about you, Aoi?”
“I was abandoned by my parents and my country, the only thing that interests me is to be next to Kio, even though he doesn't care about my feelings," said Aoi and everyone looked at her.
“I don't want to be separated from Kio, nor from Aoi, Manami and Utis," said Eris sobbing.
“You won't say goodbye to them, Eris, you can visit them every time we pass near Okinawa," Chaika reassured her.
“We will not leave immediately, it will take a couple of days to move the space elevator to its temporary position at the south pole," Kuune smiled.
“So you expect things to work out with the governments of the Earth?” asked Kio.
“Yes, and that is why we will continue to require your services," said Kuune and I was surprised because I thought my affair with the cat girls was over.
“Is that right, Captain?” exclaimed Chaika hopefully.
“Yes, it's true, with all these problems, we need Utis' help more than ever, I hope this doesn't mean a problem for you.”
“Don't worry, Captain, on the contrary, I'm happy to help.”
Kuune and Chaika returned to the mother ship and I felt the atmosphere in the house go quiet.
From what I had heard, the girls had made an alliance to "share" Kio, but that had been in the heat of the moment, after the battle with the dogisians, things became tense again. Manami, continued with her tsundere attitude even though she loved Kio and the only way to express her feelings was always to criticize him.
I still remembered the fuss when I spent the first night at the house, Manami had gone into the bathroom while Kio was bathing and found him in the company of Eris, who was washing his back.
“Manami, you can't accuse Kio of being a pervert because from what I heard, Eris was just washing his back and he wasn't very cooperative. Besides, what did you mean when you went into the bathroom knowing that Kio was bathing? From what I heard, neither Kio nor Eris were making any noise for you to go and investigate what was going on in the bathroom at the time.”
“I knew you'd defend him, all men are perverts.”
“Manami, you are the only one in this house who says these things: "perverted this, perverted that", isn't it because you are the only pervert around here?”
There was also the fatalistic attitude of Aoi, who loved Kio, but acted like the silly soap opera saint who preferred to see her happy friend in the company of another, because she didn't want to hurt anyone.
"Aoi", I remembered saying to her. "Your vision of love is very childish, in reality love is the most selfish feeling one can have. No one will blame you for fighting for Kio to notice you, quite the contrary. Everyone will point out to you how weak you were for not fighting and the worst part is that the one who will criticize you the most will be you."
Eris was a different case, always cheerful and willing to help others, did not lie to herself and went straight to the point with Kio, but my friend always escaped with an attitude that would correspond more to a super-ultra-mega-orthodox Christian than to a normal boy of his age.
.
.
After a couple of days, Eris and I said goodbye to Kio and the girls and promised to visit them when the mother ship passed near Japan. Eris was sad and I comforted her as best I could as we headed for the mother ship, which had already landed in international waters.
Without the sight of the space elevator in the sky, world protests ceased and everything began to return to normal at a slow but steady pace.
Inside the ship I continued to teach the catgirls and it was all a routine that I could not complain about as I kept busy preparing the classes and also learning everything about Cathia's technology and history, as well as the history of the other races that inhabited the known universe.
.
.
After a couple of days, we were sailing close to the coast of Russia when we learned from the news that a Russian submarine had sunk and that the crew was still alive inside.
It was not the first time this had happened, nor was it the first time that Russia had refused to receive help to rescue the crew. In the end, an American rescue boat specialized in these situations was authorized by the Russian government to provide assistance, but could do nothing.
Kuune was surprised by the call from the U.S. and Russian governments to help the submarine's crew as they were running out of recycled air from the submarine.
It was the perfect opportunity to make the relationship between Earth and Cathia finally go forward so Kuune and the other girls were happy to help.
The American and Russian ships moved away so as not to get in the way and the ship began to make preparations to try to board the submarine.
“The chains of nano-machines are ready to attach the submarine and bring it to the surface," Melwin reported on the bridge. I was also on the bridge so that I could see the whole rescue procedure on the huge screen of the place.
“The submarine currents are very strong, are you sure that the nanomachine chains will resist?”
“Don't worry," said Chaika, "the chains fuse with the metal they make contact with and their strength and flexibility are unmatched.”
.
.
I was able to observe how the rescue operation was successful, all the girls on the bridge were euphoric and celebrated what was sure to be the happy opening of diplomatic relations between Cathia and the Earth.
All the girls were very happy and did not see the bridge screen, but I did and I could see something strange, apparently the engines of the submarine that were supposed to have been destroyed had started to work and they were taking the submarine to the surface at a dizzying speed, very close to the mother ship.
“What the hell?....? Melwin, power the ship's shields to maximum power!”
“What, what, what's going on?”
“Do as the fuck I say!”
“Chaika, girls, close your eyes!”
“What's wrong with you, Utis....? Kiaaaa!” Chaika shouted as she was knocked to the ground by my onslaught.
I brought Chaika's face to my chest and I closed my eyes tightly as I covered my face with my forearm. Yet I could see the bones of my forearm despite my eyelids closed.
A strong jolt shook the ship afterward and at the end a calm of death.
“Chaika, you're okay!”
“I'm fine but....”
“MY EYES, MY EYES, I CAN'T SEE! KYAAA”
Chaika and I heard the other members of the bridge screaming and shaking on the ground trying to hold the eyeballs, which had liquefied and spilled between the girls' fingers.
“Chaika, call Durel on the bridge and let her know! Chaika, Chaika!”
“Kyaaaa!”
I had to be the one to call Durel and other Cathians to take control of the bridge and take the wounds to the ship's medical room. Chaika also had to be taken there because she suffered a nervous shock.
Eris wasn't on the bridge of the ship so she wasn't hurt, so she comforted me by having to see Chaika in that state.
Eris and I went to a computer and saw that several websites blamed Cathia's ship and crew for the disaster.
Unfortunately, not a single media outlet has yet heard about this accident and they have already put all of this on the Internet," I said without believing what I saw in front of me.
Eris hugged my back and started to cry.
The submarine disaster was the perfect excuse for several aircraft carriers from different countries to "escort" Cathia's ship. Chaika, who had recovered, was now in command.
“Is this the entire fleet of the Earth?” she asked me.
“Most of them, Britain, Russia, France each have one aircraft carrier, the United States sent its ten aircraft carriers along with its others that were in retreat and is accelerating the construction of its other twenty aircraft carriers.”
.
.
One night Durel sent for me in the medical room, apparently Kuune wanted to talk to me.
“Tell me, is there any way to help the people of Earth because of what happened to the submarine?” Kuune told me who wore a blindfold and tried to smile despite her emaciated face.
I leaned over to her side and cried.
“I don't think it was humans who operated the sub. Surely it was the asistedroids of the dogisians who committed that suicidal mission. Fortunately Chaika put up the shield before the explosion," I said after calming down.
“It doesn't really matter, does it?” Kuune told me after a while,'They would never have accepted us anyway. “You were right, the help we offered them was very prompt for Earth.”
“Actually, you could offer some help. Information on how Cathia overcame the problems of state and judicial bureaucracy, how it overcame the mistrust of her neighbors in the cosmos, how to make lithium batteries last 24 hours instead of three," I said more animatedly. I think that would be a great help, Captain.
I left the medical room and Durel told me to my relief that the captain and the other girls would have their eyes regenerated in a couple of days and in perfect condition in a couple of months.
Kuune was very depressed so Chaika decided to relieve her of her post and assumed the role of ship's captain and mission commander. Under her orders, she ordered the space elevator to leave the Earth and head for Cathia, soon to be followed by the mother ship.
“I would have liked to have stayed with Kio," Eris told me, "but at least I know he will be happy with either Manami or Aoi.”
I gave Antonia all the useful information I talked about with Kuune and after saying goodbye to Kio and the girls on skype, I set out to leave the Earth with Chaika and the other catgirls.
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
"Antonia I left the Earth in your hands," I thought sadly as the ship's engines started, while Chaika and I joined hands.
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
"Hi, my name is Eris," recalled Eris when she met Kio and rinsed a tear from her face as the ship ascended.
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
"We want to have peaceful relations with the Earth," Melwin recalled when she met with Japan's representatives in Okinawa, suddenly a smile of embarrassment came over her face.
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
"We came to play," Chaika recalled when she, Eris and Melwin had introduced themselves to their friends in Okinawa after Eris' rescue.
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
“One day Cathia will return," said Durel to the Captain, who looked with milky eyes and tears on her face at the beautiful blue planet in the distance.
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
“You're right, neither we nor Chaika nor the other girls will see it, but one day Cathia will come back to Earth who will welcome us with open arms and then someone will say: "We're back to play".”
