ZOOTOPIA TANK POLICE
Capítulo 5: The first mission
In the Trump Tower, Mayor Leodoro Leonzález gave instructions to Deputy Mayor Bellwheter, all related to "the welfare of Zootopia".
“Listen, I don't like you sending my clothes to the cat dry cleaners. Yes, I know they are the best in the city, but they charge a lot of money, so I order you to be the one who takes care of my clothes... and you better iron my pants very well than tomorrow I have a meeting with Mayor Scar of King's Rock... and then a date with Gazelle... you better think about what breakfast you can prepare for Gazelle since we'll both be "talking" all night about the future of this city.”
A sad "yes sir" was heard coming from across the line at the same time as a miserable sigh of resignation.
"JA, then I'll give that prima donna Scar, all the details of my date with Gazelle. That effeminate guy is going to die of envy," Leonzález thought, after turning off his cell phone and headed for the large window of his penthouse.
“Stupid filth that lives in this stinking city. I should have my "love nest" in an annex to my mayor's office, but I have to keep up appearances to all these idiots that I govern.”
“Hey, what's that?” the mayor asked no one in particular, as he lowered his glass of cognac and focused his attention on the street, more specifically, on a trail of dust heading for the building.

In a small building that served as a kindergarten built in the shade of the Trump Tower, young teachers did their best to take care of the young children as best they could despite the nighttime hours. It was about half an hour before their mothers came to take them home.
“Ma me mi mo mu mu... pa pe pi po pu... and now everybody sing the song," the young rabbit teacher sang happily, while her companion, a young possum, played a charango to the delight of the little children.
Suddenly, the front doors opened wide and a group of subjects entered through them: a small, light beige desert fox; a weasel with bulging eyes; a sly-looking orange fox; and a yak that seemed to be surrounded by a cloud of flies.
“Everybody freeze, the Alliance of Evil has just entered!” shouted Finnick as he put on his best evil face.
Both the teachers and the young children were paralyzed and saw the criminals with their mouths open.
Finnick seemed very satisfied with himself when faced with the reaction of his future hostages, when something happened that was not foreseen.
In one blink of an eye, all the young children began to cheer for him and his men, as they began to surround and embrace them.
“But what are these children!” shouted Duke Roedriguez in dismay.
“I think these kids are confusing us with a bunch of superheroes... or clowns," replied Nick Wilde, as he tried to keep his fluffy tail away from the bunch of little ones.
"I told you, Finnick, we shouldn't have dressed up like super villains," said Nick.
“Where are the caretakers of these brats? Let them put their house in order at once!” asked Finnick.
“I don't think they can," Duke replied, pointing to the two teachers, who had fainted.
“We have to make these kids understand that we're not playing games! Right, Yax?” Finnick asked his hippie subordinate.
“And this fly is called Mondongo, and this other one is Trolebus, and this other one is...” Yax explained with a smile to the children who looked fascinated at the flies that seemed to be trained as they performed acrobatic flights over the greens of their "owner".
“You're not helping!” shouted Finnick, in frustration.
“We better get all these kids on the bus before the mothers arrive," Roedriguez said.
Finnick agreed and the criminal gang put the kids one by one on the bus driven by Flash, the sloth bear.
“What's wrong with the ladies?” a child asked.
“Hey, your teachers are very tired so we better not wake them up," said Nick, who was carrying one of the fainted girls. “Don't worry, they'll go with us too. We're all going someplace really fun.”
“What... is... that?” asked Flash, outside the kindergarten, as he saw something huge coming towards them.
.
.
At the pedestrian crossing, Buajaja and his gang could not believe how the tank pilot, whoever he was, showed an unprecedented stubbornness and insisted on continuing the tank's march along the pedestrian road at the risk of disrupting the entire roadway and everything in it. In fact, that's what was happening!
“Boss, you've got to hurry, meow!” asked Anna Puma.
“Quickly turn left, nya!” suggested Uni Puma.
Buajaja did so and with this increased the distance between them and the monstrous but slow tank.
Both Judy and Key clenched their teeth in frustration. The black cat struck the inner shell of the tank, while the rabbit saw something that might help them. Judy stretched her arm to a button with the Turbo sign on it.
Key tried to warn her to stop but it was too late. A thud as if something was hitting the engine from the inside, was the anticipation of such an immediate and violent acceleration that the two tank crew members glued themselves to their seats involuntarily and with nothing they could do.
It seemed incredible that something as big, slow and heavy as the green tank could make such a dizzying speed, so much so that it would even jump over the road, skip meters off the road and then land on the ground again and continue at the devilish speed.
When it reached a corner, the tank went through a business and went through a long way until it reached a road destined for vehicular traffic.
The avenue was very wide and Judy could see that it did not extend indefinitely, but continued behind a curve, and behind it she saw a school bus that was just at that moment receiving small children from a day care center.
"Oh no, I have to do something," Judy thought alarmed, while closing her jaw and forcing her right arm out of its static position and into the controls.
Key would have liked to have helped her, but he was far from the controls and his body was stuck to his seat and unable to move it even an inch.
"Come on Judy, come on damn it, move that arm," she encouraged herself, and after a colossal effort that seemed to take a long time but was only a couple of seconds, she grabbed the controls and shifted the gear from the tank.
The trail of smoke hit a huge building head-on. If you wonder what happens when an unstoppable force hits an immovable object, the result is certainly not much different than what happened next.
The seat belts protected Judy and Key. When Judy breathed a sigh of relief and wanted to ask her friend if he was all right, he grabbed her by the ears and pulled her out of the tank.
“Ouch, what the hell are you doing!”
“Judy, let's run away!”
Judy did not understand what her young superior was referring to, and when she was on the verge of complaining to him in a bad way, she heard it. The sound of something breaking, so big that the thud turned into a rumble that reverberated all over the block. Judy looked up to heaven and her soul fell to her feet.
The Trump Tower was collapsing on them, they had to get away from the tank as fast as they could!
The rabbit ran awkwardly as it was held by its comrade who carried her away from danger. Suddenly she felt the whole ground vibrating at her feet and a cloud of dust swallowed her up with her companion.
.
.
Back at police headquarters, Judy and Key, covered in dust but safe and sound, watched the ZNN nightly news.
"And Mayor Leodoro Leonzales, will be veiled at the mayor's office tomorrow, the funeral will be in the afternoon...."
“Judy... are you okay?”
“Key, how did this happen?”
"After the funeral, Deputy Mayor Bellwheter will be sworn in as the new Mayor and..."
Key hugged Judy, who was shaking and looking devastated.
"Moving on to other news: A group of citizens known as the Alliance, seeing that the Trump Tower was going to be hit by a tanker police vehicle, proceeded to put the children of a night nursery school and their teachers inside a bus, rescuing them all. All these heroes..."
Suddenly, Chief Bogo entered the tanker police hangar with an angry expression on his face. Judy's soul fell for the second time.
She would have preferred it if he had yelled at her, but the buffalo did something worse: with all the calm in the world but with a cold voice, asked Judy to hand over her police badge, she had been fired.
“Don't give it to him Judy," said Key, who stood firm and didn't avert his eyes from Chief Bogo.
“With the Trump Tower in ruins, I think I have the right to ask the pretty bunny to hand over the damn plaque," said Bogo as the rest of the tanker animals entered the place and watched the confrontation expectantly.
“It is not the first time that the tanker police have caused serious damage in the city. It can't be helped considering the level of crime we have to face," Key tried to reason, hoping that Judy would keep her job.
“What about the mayor? Now he's dead," Bogo fought back.
“It is also not the first time that there has been collateral damage to civilians by the displacement of the tanker police," insisted Key.
“But never before had anyone make this much shit," Bogo finished, and Key had to swallow saliva.
The situation seemed insurmountable but then Benjamin Garraza entered through the door.
“This way," said the obese cheetah, and then the Deputy Mayor, Bellweather, entered.
“What is the Vice Mayor doing here?” Bogo asked herm, who composed the face.
“Chief Bogo, I heard that Officer Keyhearth and Officer Judy Hoops almost died in the Trump Tower incident. Poor things, I hope they're all right.”
“Emmm, we're all right, Deputy Mayor," said Judy as she was gently hit on the back by Key.
“Thanks God," the sheep breathed a sigh of relief, "all this is a very ugly business, imagine Chief Bogo if the press learns that it was the two officers of the experimental program who were involved in this incident. We can't let this get out, Mayor Leonzalez's legacy would disappear.”
“But...” was trying to say Bogo.
“Besides, it's not just about our late mayor, it's also a plan that is being implemented in other cities like New Port for example. We can't let all of this go to waste.”
“Excuse me, Deputy Mayor, but these two...” The buffalo was already beginning to get upset.
“They are your subordinates, so the responsibility should rest on you. Especially considering the entire tank unit was destroyed for nothing. If you had caught Buajaja, none of this would have happened... but don't worry boss Bogo, I just spoke to Commissioner José Rosano, and we decided that you will keep your job, as long as you doesn't hide behind other officers.”
This time it was Bogo's soul that fell at his feet.
CONTINUARÁ…
Oh, my gosh! Judy killed the mayor! Don't forget to comment and vote.
