The next day after Rihaan left to work, I quickly completed my household chores to go to the mobile service centre. When I was about to go out, I had the secretary and his wife at my door. They were Mr and Mrs Svetler. It seemed that it was a regular check up on their neighbours and it was really nice to meet them. They were very friendly. We talked for some time and then they left. I was really hungry of talking to them so I had my lunch and got ready to move out.
I locked all my doors and moved towards the elevator. The elevator door opened immediately and I entered it as there was no one in the elevator that day. I pressed the button to go down. But it went up as someone had pressed the button on the tenth floor. As there was no operator that day I really needed someone to accompany me till I reach the ground level safely. I even felt tired without sleep. My eyes had turned red as it was my first night without sleep for a very long time.
The elevator door opened on the tenth floor and I found out that there was no one. OMG! Maybe someone must have waited for lift and have decided to take the stairs. Very brave indeed to go down from the tenth floor! As the doors were closing, there came someone's hand in-between the doors and the doors reopened again. At last, my wish for a companion was fulfilled but even before my thought was complete I changed my decision for a companion. As it was the same person who scolded me and then apologised in a rough manner. I was really shaking of fear. But I did not express it. I didn't know what to do.
I wanted to get to my flat rather go down with him all alone in the lift. As I was about to press the button for ninth floor he came and stood before me blocking the buttons. I tried to move the other way but he again blocked the way with his hand. I was left helpless. My heart beats once again raced. I even wanted to shout for help. I thought this time heartbeats raced because of fear. I even started to sweat a lot. When I looked at him, he was smiling. But the moment I saw him, his face reaction changed.
" Didn't you sleep last night? Why are your eyes red?", he asked.
Wanted Rihaan to ask this question but a stranger is asking. Yet I didn't want to reveal why I was sleepless last night. So I replied, "No I had a very sound sleep. It's just the dust that went into my eyes that's making it red. That's nothing for you to worry."
When the lift entered each floor, I expected someone to accompany me but I was left alone with him.
I thought to myself, "Why in the world, things like this happen to me?" At last, we reached the ground and I was ready to push him to get out. But by God's grace, he moved away. Quickly I got out and looked for the security to ask for help to go to mob service centre. I reached the service centre which was only a few minutes away from my flat.
I felt happy walking alone enjoying nature although I was disturbed by some thoughts. When I reached the service centre I handed my mob to the person - in - charge. They asked me to wait as it was just the screen to be changed and they even had one in stock. I sat on the chair placed in the corner of the room. I was reading the pamphlet that they had on their desk. Though I was going through the pamphlet I was not fully concentrating. I felt that I was distracted by Mr X's behaviour towards me. I wanted to get rid of him and his thoughts. But I know it was highly impossible. Somehow I wanted to forget him and our conversation.
So finally I closed my eyes tightly and I wished that I must never see him again in my life thereafter. I hoped for the best. But...
When I opened my eyes he was standing in front of me staring at me. His staring made me uncomfortable and so I asked him,
" Why are you following me? Haven't you got any other work?".
He replied, " You have lost something dear".
The moment he said dear, I got angry... So he immediately changed the sentence, "est... I mean something dearest to you".
I had no idea what he was talking. Seeing that, I was puzzled, he held out my necklace that I missed outside the elevator. I got it from him and thanked him to which he replied, "you are always welcome", in a sarcastic manner. He gave a very cute smile which I hated though my heart was melting at it.
I then sat in my place and waited for my mobile. I didn't mind where he went or what he was doing. Then they called for me as my mobile was ready. I got my mob and was about to pay the bill when the person in the billing section said that the charge for my mob was already paid. I was really shocked. I enquired them about who paid my bill. They replied that the man who was talking with me a few minutes ago paid my bill. I totally got surprised and at the same time angry. I was angry because I did not want a stranger to pay my bill? I hardly knew him. How could he do such a thing!
