Moss stood ridged. Crunching up his sweating palms that were tied behind his back, he tried to force his eyes to adjust to the darkness that surrounded him. Noise was muffled by the loud pounding of his heart that echoed in his ears. Moss fought to keep his breathing calm, but gasped for breath as the intake spiked in rhythm. His mind was frantically calculating a way out of this situation, but the haze wouldn’t allow him to process any escape routes.589Please respect copyright.PENANAbHo1TF2MQz
His muscles twitched as he ripped his body from the two pair of hands that held him steady. A throaty scream escaped his lips as he charged. Abruptly his head exploded in pain and Moss thought he heard a gruff laugh from one of his captors as he fell to the ground. Feeling the smack of mud onto the side of his face and seep into his open mouth, he began to feel the world close in on him. Moss felt his chest tighten and refused to lift and expand for breathe. His wide eyes saw the large pair of hands reach out for him and his body went berserk.
Quickly flipping over he lashed out his legs in a frenzied attack on his detainer. His screams of distress called out into the night. Worming his from away from the two massive bodies watching him in disgust, Moss strained to get his hands free of the rope.
“Won’t be that easy lad,” spoke a voice to his left. Moss retched on his side when a heavy boot made swift contact with his bulging stomach. Hot vomit poured into the mud and Moss felt it burn up his nose. The stench filled his senses and he began to pray. Mumbling inaudible words to a nameless god, Moss’ body quivered. Another kick to his frame sent Moss back into the trunk of a thick tree. Bark scraped against his skin.
“You,” came a furious voice close to his face, “do not deserve to pray.” Raging fists assaulted Moss’ face. Thought began slush and his surrounding grew hazy. The man heaved Moss up slamming his back against the tree. Slowly opening his eyes with difficulty from swollen skin, Moss gazed into the face of the man set out on revenge. Eyes blazed in a red fury, yet the man’s face was calm. Moss couldn’t breathe as the man’s torn soul screamed out at him. Bile rose and Moss refused to let it escape his mouth. Hot liquid poured down his trousers as his body trembled. Sweat oozed from his pours. The man before him was his judge and this was his atonement. He was going to die.
Opening his mouth, bile slipped down his chin. Split and bile spewed into the man’s face as Moss screeched. In a manic craze, Moss lost all humane thoughts and control of his body. Lashing out at the man with all his strength, he attempted to break free.589Please respect copyright.PENANAA6IWssdmXG
Suddenly, Moss stilled. A gurgled groan escaped and thick red liquid drained from his gut. A flash of cool silver reflected in his confused gaze. Sliding down the trunk of the tree into a heap, Moss watched the man’s form fade away before him.589Please respect copyright.PENANASlHn2V8sfY
