Chapter 2652Please respect copyright.PENANAA3FDCTJgwQ
Groggily, Luna woke up as a soft but firm shake disrupted her slumber. Quickly, she shifted in surprise but quickly stopped as a sharp bolt of pain erupted from her neck. Groaning in discomfort, Luna slowly righted her position before opening her eyes, and quickly blinked to rid of herself from the blur her eyes created.
She looked at to where she felt the hand shaking her came from, and her eyes widened in surprise in seeing Mable next to her inside of one of the many cars her father owned.
Mable’s eyes widened in surprise once she saw Luna getting up. It had been a while that she had been shaking Luna awake for and it was taking its toll on her arm.
“Mable?” she questioned, wiping the tiredness from her eyes. “what are you doing here?”
“You had forgotten already?” Mable responded with a brow raised.
Luna blinked as if trying to recall a memory before shaking her head and noticed how sluggish she felt. How long had she been sleeping for? She was never this sleepy after a packing her bags to change locations.
“I’m going to be staying with you for your year here. You will be living by yourself and your sister, so your father thought it was necessary to have someone familiar outside of blood to be around you.” She said nervously, auburn hair curled around her fingers.
“You mean to monitor me?” Luna responded negatively, eyes burning.
“I was only tasked to watch over you and to serve like I’ve always had.” Retorted Mable, soft but strong. “Your father does care, and this is his way of showing it. No matter how small.”
“Well that’s a shitty way of showing it.” Said Luna scathingly, eyes rolled in disgust. Mable frowned at her response but offered no defence, and at that time Luna’s eyes widened.
“Wait a minute, you said year here, as in we are already in the location?” said Luna and simultaneously whipped her head round to gaze outside the car.
Mable smiled softly, “I was wondering when you would pick up on that.” However, she was pretty sure that her voice was not heard going by the lack of reaction and Luna’s frozen form. She couldn’t blame her either.
The town was beautifully crafted, each house was incredibly unique as the last. They all had their own symbol that had their own flair but maintained what she assumed to be the main theme or word. Others had their own separate symbol, completely different to what she had seen earlier but while paying close attention she noticed that many shared the same ones.
The grass was stunningly vibrant and looked very much alive as the baby blue sky met the grass from a distance which she could hardly make out. However, what she could make out in the distance was a decayed circle of grass with a shattered crown like statue in the middle.
Winding down the window Luna stuck her head outside the window and took a deep breath. Before releasing and sighing at the pure fresh air that seemed to hold its own unique fragrance.
Bringing her head in a bit, Luna sneakily looked at Mable from the corner of her eyes. “How long have I been asleep for?”
“Around nine hours.” shrugged Mable.
“nine hours? How is that even possible!” Luna exclaimed loudly.
Suddenly, Luna’s head was thrown back by a sudden stop caused by the car, her hair was thrusted forward and tangled into mess in front of her eyes. Clumsily, Luna got up looked ahead of the driver, just to see nothing ahead of her.
“What’s wrong?” she asked the driver confused.
Turning his head slightly, the Caucasian driver looked at her from the corner of his eye. “Nothings wrong ma’am.” Seeing her about to interject he quickly continued. “We’ve reached your destination.” He said before quickly before turning around to look ahead of himself.
Looking back to where she was previously her eyes widened in shock at the size of the school. From what she had lived in and seen in photographs it should officially qualify as a castle instead as the sheer size alone was intimidating to see.
The school had a massive black gate in front and two large buff men that stood guard at either side. Behind them and the gate was a large greenery area before meeting with stones that tickled the end of the steps to the main doorway from what she could make out as that same path of stones guided its way to the black gate.
The castle itself was very Victorian is its appearance as the most distinct feature was the large corners that looked like the top of a rook chess piece. Further on from what she could see were other castles next to the main one dominating the centre, as the two beside were covered by the foliage of her current position.
Getting rid of her embarrassingly noticeable slack jawed expression, Luna quickly booted herself from the car which Mable imitated while grabbing a fairly large side bag. Patting her pink dress down to get rid of all the creases, she turned to the driver while shivering slightly in her long sleeve jeans jacket.
“Thank you for driving us.” She said politely, fair fixed back into position.
The man smiled cheekily, and green eyes shone with a weird aura that Luna couldn’t grasp. “It’s no problem ma’am, just doing my job.” He said casually, waving off her thanks as mere curtesy. “Good luck on your first day.” He wished before quickly driving off.
“You’re going to need it.” He said without a care for the world as he continued his job while looking at the side mirror.
Before Luna could comment on his hasty leave, she was softly pushed forward by Mable. Huffing in defeat at failing in delaying the inevitable, she walked towards the two guards and had to tilt her head a little higher than she thought she would have to as they towered over her completely.
Noticing her approach, the guard closer to her met her half way and raised a questioning brow.
“Luna Violet I assume.” He asked. He gave off a slight but noticeable aroma that Luna couldn’t but help but enjoy as her heart seemed to jumpstart. His voice held a slight rumble and a growl when he spoke, and it sent a very noticeable shiver down her spine for her. Unconsciously, her eyes roamed his body and noticed that his arms strained against his uniform that seemed to almost meld like second skin and the noticeable bulge in his pants that the uniform failed to hide.
Gulping slightly, her soft brown eyes met cool amber and she failed to find the words necessary to answer his question.
“Yes, she is, and would you please stop that joseph, its rude.” Said a soft voice rather scathingly.
Taking his eyes away from Luna’s distracted blue and looking behind her, his eyes widened slightly in surprise and his mouth enlarged a bit. “Kashka, is that you? How long has it been, five years without seeing you?”
Mable smiled before replying. “I believe so, but that’s beside the point. Luna is transferring here today, so I want to make sure she transitions smoothly.”
“Straight to business I see.” Replied Joseph frowning slightly. “Okay, I’ll take her the reception. We’ll talk later.” He continued firmly, yellow eyes pinning Mable’s marbled.
Luna gave the two a weird look before coughing softly to get their attention, before instantly regretting it as the two’s ravenous stare seemed to consume her whole. Despite this she found the will to speak. “Um. If we should leave or I’ll be late to class and that wouldn’t be good for first impressions, right?” She chuckled awkwardly while slightly meek.
Joseph nodded in agreement. “Right.” He said, before giving Mable one last look before signalling Luna to follow him as he walked to the gate.
“When school ends I’ll be here with a car ma’am.” said Mable before waving Luna good bye as she two walked off.
Taking that as her sign to go off with the tall male, Luna waved to Mable before following the man. Like a gentleman, he opened the gate for her and let her through first. Nodding in thanks, she quickly slipped past the large man and couldn’t help but gape at the size of the school grounds.
“Huge, isn’t she?” questioned Joseph as he closed the gate with a soft click.
Luna stood in awe as she saw that the grounds covered for miles on end and she couldn’t see where it ended. The castles also seemed a lot bigger despite only moving forward a few metres. Nodding her head, she quickly walked up to catch up to josephs long strides.
Once at the building Joseph lead her in and quickly guided her to the reception which was at the corner of the entrance. Surrounding it were individual pictures of many animals with their own frames. However, she noticed that each one had the same theme of a one black and white animal regardless of specie, additionally each had their own new born and were surrounding it protectively.
Moving the picture to the back of her mind she moved her attention to the tall boy next to the reception talking to a woman at the desk who was giggling at the boy as though he had made a joke. The boy was slightly smaller than joseph who easily toward over her.
“Is everyone going to be taller than me here?” Thought Luna gloomily before stopping in front of the fair skinned, raven haired boy.
Instantly the two before her stopped and gave her a weird look which instantly disappeared as man sent her a charming smile that caused her to blush. Looking of slightly to the side she saw the receptionist at the corner of her eyes and her foul scowl sent a small shiver down her spine.
“Luna, I presume?” He questioned, voice smooth that seemed to be in rhythm to the music that echoed softly from his head phones which hung from his neck, and that his head bobbed softly too.
Giving the boy a small but quick once over that the boy noticed, she raised a brow and lifted her chin slightly. “At this point I’m willing to guess that everyone knows that I’m coming?” She questioned back arms flailed in exasperation.
Taking that as a sign of a yes, the boy answered back. “Its more of the case that you are the first transfer student we’ve ever gotten period.” He chuckled softly, scratching the back of his head.
“Great, a lot more attention than needed.” Mulled Luna in defeat, ignorant to that the three around her had heard her soft whisper.
“Well then lets be off, you don’t want to be late.” He said chipperly. “Miranda, I’ll be off for now, joseph, I’ll see you at the gate later on today. Luna lets get going, tardiness is not tolerated here.”
Sending him a dismissive but respectful nod the receptionist went back to typing, while joseph nodded his head acknowledging that he had been dismissed. “See you later then boss.” He said before quickly disappearing to the front gate.
“Boss?” thought Luna. However, she was given no time to ponder about it as the boy’s presence suddenly demanded her attention.
“I’ll be your guide here for the week so don’t worry about getting lost or asking questions, as I should be able to them all.” He paused before giving her a small once over and then smiling innocently displaying his dimples and causing his soft molten eyes to glow slightly. “You should fit in quite well here regardless of being a transfer, don’t worry about the looks you will get, it should disappear after a while. Now follow me as I have your schedule.” He continued before turning around gesturing for her to follow him.
Walking at a moderately slow pace, he allowed Luna to walk beside him and was once again reminded of her smaller stature. Curiously, she looked over to him and looked him in the eyes.
“You never said your name.” Said Luna curiously.
“That’s because you never asked my dear.” He said off handily, looking at her from the corner of his eyes.
“And, what may your name be then?” she said slightly leaning forwards slightly eagerly.
“The names Tadashi.” He said coolly with a boyish smile. “Tadashi Yung.”
Putting her hand forward to meet his, she smiled slightly, curious he turned his head to fully face her. “Mine is Luna Violet. Pleasure to meet you.” She said.
“Please, the pleasure is all mine.” He said while shaking her hand. Nodding his head to the side he motioned for her to take a turn.
“If you don’t mind, I have a question to ask you.” She asked and in response he nodded in confirmation. “What is with all those pictures with animals on them?” she queried thoughtfully.
“I see you have a sharp eye.” He said out loud considerately.
“It’s pretty hard to miss when there must be hundreds of them just scattered along this school, if the picture we are passing has anything to go by.” She responded.
Looking up he was quick to take note of her point. “That’s fair enough. These pictures have something to do with a religion of ours.” He said slowly. “We believe that there are two Gods in our world and they walk among us, that they co-exist with us and take our forms. There might even be a day when they have a child who may walk among us, to save this world from peril.” He paused, letting it sink in as he took another turn to a corridor, which only seemed to lead to a green area. “That’s the heavily brief version anyway.”
“Then can you explain why I’ve seen no human form yet?” she asked slightly confused, causing Tadashi to look at her curiously, almost seeming to push her to continue. “I mean, God created man, right? So, shouldn’t your God take a human form, but going by the lack of a human so far that doesn’t seem to be the case.” She continued in thought confidently.
“Here we are.” He said swiftly ignoring her question, stopping in front of a white door which blended in well with the interior. If it wasn’t for him quickly voicing to stop she wouldn’t have even taken notice that a door had existed here.
“What’s this class meant to be Tadashi?” Luna asked politely.
“This class is English literature and language. There shouldn’t be many people in the class right now, so I can quickly fill you in on what you are doing and how class runs.” He explained before pushing open the door.
Just like Tadashi had said not many people were in the class, there were barely any cliques in the room, but the teacher was however, seated behind a large wooden desk.
Suddenly, like a silent command, the few in the rooms heads like magnets whipped to her direction. Cold beady eyes stared at her visage and like a scared sheep she froze in her place. Her muscles tense, locked into place and adrenaline pumped through her veins. Her heavy breath could be heard as well as her forced swallow that did nothing to calm her nerves.
A slow,0 soft dribble of sweat drawled down her forehead, and her heart thumped harder as her eyes lashed from one side to the next. Each time her eyes met the same cold, almost predatory and judging eyes, each with a different colour but same effect.
Unknowingly, she moved forward, and the eyes tracked her movement. Her breath fastened and got heavier. Her heart drummed faster as a soft ring seemed to ring louder in her head.
“Enough!” Commanded a voice firmly.
The ringing had stopped.
Her breathing stopped.
Her heart stopped.
Those cold, almost predatory and judging eyes stopped.
Those cold beady eyes stopped.
One by one the heads of each clique turned and continued as though nothing had happened. Soft conversation continued as they each dismissed her presence.
“Are you alright Luna?” Said the same voice. Turning her head, she realised it was Tadashi that had spoken. “Your sweating.”
Taking a deep yet shaky breath, Luna, hand on her heart, tried to calm herself down. “Thank you for that.”
“Oh? You mean stopping all the stares? No problem, they went a tad too far for my tastes.” He said nonchalantly, eyes rolling while strolling towards the teacher as if he owned the place, full of bravado.
“A tad too far?” she thought exasperatingly. “I was practically suffocating.” Following Tadashi, although much more timidly than he, she quickly scanned the room making sure nobody saw her doing so.
The room reminded her of the pictures of university’s which she saw when she was interested in public school student life. Ten long tables that’s length went from the wall to the middle of the room, only to not touch to make space for students to walk through, and ten equally long chairs to match.
The room was decorated in a way she was unfamiliar with, as there were symbols painted with utmost grace and the highest calligraphy skill, yet she was unfamiliar with each. No matter how much she thought none she saw that she was able to recognise down to each intricate detail, even with her vast knowledge on languages.
Looking at the back of the room she noted that compared to the rest of the walls it lacked a great load of art and instead only had three stars, two large, one gold and the other diamond. In between the two was a smaller star which looked to be pure platinum causing her eyes to widen slightly.
Did this place, where ever in the world she maybe, contain pure and rare materials such as diamond? And if so how were they not on the map? They could make a fortune and build all kinds of things on what land they had. Before she could continue, Luna had to quickly stop herself from bumping into Tadashi and blush when he gave her a knowing look.
Ripping her face from looking at him, she realised that a man was observing her though thin tinted glasses. Nervously, she grinned and waved at the man and in return he did the same.
Rolling his eyes Tadashi gestured towards the man. “Luna, this’ll be your house teacher Hiro Hokan, but just call him Mr. Hokan when in school, formalities don’t matter outside of school.”
Using his middle finger Hiro pushed his glasses up slightly, and suddenly, as a result Luna shivered as she saw ominous dark magenta eyes glare at her paired with a hungry smile. And just as quickly it had revealed itself, it vanished like it wasn’t there and she was looking back at the face of a sincere young man with his hand out to her.
“Pleasure is all mine my dear.” He said invitingly. “Take a seat at the front desk here, I’ll be sure to that you have a good experience for your first lesson at a public school.”
“Thank you very much.” Replied Luna before taking a seat at the desk that he gestured at afterwards, which Tadashi had then copied. “Um, is there a reason you are sitting next to me?”
Paying no mind to her question, Tadashi pressed a button on the table to reveal writing supplies and with it came a name tag that had his name on it. “You mean other than the fact that I’m your guide and this is my seat? No, not one at all.” He exclaimed eyeng her reaction.
Blushing somewhat, she looked to the side and mumbled something incoherently, ignorant to the fact that Tadashi had heard her and that he smirked at her gleefully, before being ruined by a soft chime echoing throughout the room and a storm of children gushing in.
Weather to the fact that they didn’t notice her or didn’t care about her presence remained unknown to her, but she was glad nobody stared at her as soon as they came in.
Quickly, each student sat down, and chatter immediately ceased. Closing the book in his hand and laying it to rest at his desk, Hiro got up and stood at the front of the class.
“Morning all, today we have a new student, Luna violet, please may you all treat her well. Please Luna, stand up and say hello.” He exclaimed, ignorant to what he had caused.
Almost instantly, eyes pinned her form like a wolf eyeing its prey and goose bumps ran along her skin. Nervously, she got up and turned around to face almost seventy eyes staring her down.
Meek, she raised her hand and waved. “...um.” She said anxiously, curling a finger around her hair. “My names Luna. And ugh.” She paused again eyes moving side to side. “Nice to meet you all.”
As soon as she finished, the eyes that bore into her lost interest and turned their attention away from her. Letting her be able to let out a sigh of relief as she sunk into her chair, oblivious to Tadashi’s subtle attempt at comfort.
If she knew that this was the reaction of meeting a new student, she would have protested against her father. Too bad it wouldn’t have mattered either way.
