Chapter 7
Luna woke up groggily, her sight hazy as she lazily opened her eyes beneath the queen-sized covers that swallowed her form. She winced as opened her eyes to the bright light of outside and as such quickly turned around wanting to savour any amount of laziness as possible.
She looked at her cupboard and noticed that there was an outfit already there hanged on the door, meaning Penelope had come in earlier and had set it out along with taking the food that she had forgotten to eat.
Luna’s mind wandered off to her night and her encounter with Tadashi. That crown had to be important for him to get angry, but she had no clues to make any connections to anything.
“I could ask Dante, but I doubt he would tell me anything without Tadashi’s permission.” Muttered Luna thoughtfully. “So, the only people I can ask are Penelope, Mable and Aiko.” Luna sighed before wiping the tear that threatened to drop in her tired state as she yawned.
Getting up from her bed, not bothering to make it back up, she went into the bathroom taking notice that the bath was already made and sat in it. She wasn’t a fan of showers, she didn’t like the feeling of the water as it pounded against her skin, it reminded her too much of someone crying relentlessly, mourning for the death of a lover.
“Maybe I should stop watching tragedies,” Luna muttered again before cleaning her self up and wrapping the towel around her form once she stepped out of the bath. She quickly put on the clothes that were hanged for her and brushed her hair, particularly the ends as they had a fascination of getting tangled all the time. Putting on her timberland black boots, she opened her door and made way to the kitchen.
Like normal it was the typical closest thing to a master chef kitchen, pearly white that it put toothbrush adverts to shame and had a large yet clear family sized table. Seeing that no one was at the table she delved deeper into the cooking area of the kitchen and saw Mable making the last few touches to the breakfast that she had made.
“Morning Mable,” chirped Luna glad to see her faithful companion again.
“Morning ma’am,” replied Mable as she picked up two plates and placed them at the large table and motioned for Luna to sit. “I take it that you slept well?”
“The bed was divine like always,” moaned Luna as she ate Mable’s food, once again glad that her friend was a certified chef. Opening her eyes, she realised that Mable had not sat down yet and sent her a confused look.
Taking notice Mable shook her head. “I’ve already eaten ma’am.”
“Then who is that for?” She asked confusedly.
Mable opened her mouth to speak but was quickly interrupted. “It’s about time that you woke up. To think that it is already past ten.” Said a voice, slightly snobbishly.
Luna turned her head to the voice and sighed. It was her sister Asuka named after the Japanese princess and she took that name to new level as she believed that she was entitled to nearly everything and used it to her advantage.
It didn’t help that she was a beautiful girl too. Blond hair that just reached past her shoulders and a soft face that screamed that she was pampered a lot. Her exotic sapphire eyes were always filled with lust, which just screamed that she was pansexual. She was taller than the average woman at the age of seventeen and a lot more filled out too which didn’t help.
In short, she was a more sexualised version of herself with an opposing personality to hers. While Luna was and worried wreck half the time that was scared on stepping on the toes of people, Aiko strutted her stuff and oozed confidence like it was no one’s business and Luna wasn’t ashamed to say that she jealous of her sister in more than one way.
“Akiko,” drawled Luna in attempted to sound bored. Her sister thrived on reactions as it fuelled her with more energy, sounding annoyed would only prolong her sisters stay.
However, it was clear that it didn’t work as Akiko strutted towards the table and sat down at her chair which happened to oppose Luna and with a wave of her hand dismissed Mable.
Luna didn’t bother to defend Mable, already knowing that it was not only what Akiko wanted her to do but she already knew how Mable felt about being dismissed so rudely and Luna defending her.
“Luna”, she retorted as she grabbed the pair of chop sticks and daintily put a small rice ball in her mouth.
“Look Akiko, I’m not looking to have an argument with you.” Started Luna bravely.
In response Akiko raised a brow before swallowing and taking a napkin that rested on the table. “Yet notice each time we argue it’s because you start it.”
Luna sent her a look of disbelief and she was sure she felt her jaw drop slightly. “What?” she gasped before taking her fork and pointing it at her. “You still haven’t dropped that incident over your dress.”
“It was my favourite dress,” she responded casually yet anger laced her tone.
“It was ten years ago, Akiko! I was like six at the time!” said Luna voice slightly raised as she pointed her fork at her.
“Your point?” she said as she put down her chopsticks as she went for her drink that Mable had placed down during their talk.
Luna opened her mouth, showing that she was going to reply before deciding against it as she finally started to eat some of her English breakfast.
“You have questions no doubt. Knowing father, he left you with no idea of where u are.” In response, Luna nodded and swallowed her baked beans silently. “Personally, I call this place neo japan, simply because of that Japanese is the second most spoken language from what I’m aware of. They have a strange language that I’m slowly piecing together I’ll show you my notes sometime.”
Not missing a beat, Luna finished of her food to as questions filled her mind. “Its actual name?”
“Geohekanra.”
“Um what?” Luna questioned.
“Geohekanra, that’s the name this country,” stated Akiko like she was stupid.
“what kind of name is that?” Luna asked, scratching her head confusedly.
“What kind of name is England, France or America?” Akiko questioned back with an eyebrow raised.
“Anyway,” drawled Luna, “is there anything about this place you can tell me?” she continued as she sipped some water from her glass.
“I just arrived here, you do the math.” Akiko retorted as she got up from her chair and made way for the exit, her hips swinging hypnotically. “But if you really want to know something about this place, have a look at the news feed or something. I’m sure you’ll find something there.”
“Um sure,” she said in attempt to sound certain but instead she sounded confused as she turned her body and chair slightly in order to face her sisters back.
Akiko turned around slightly just so that the left side of her face was clearer and Luna almost gasped when she saw a concerned look on her face. “Something is going on outside, something must have happened last night as the streets are barren. So, I want you to stay in for today and tomorrow,” she said softly.
Luna smiled. Albeit, rather hidden from Akiko. This was the most civil conversation she’s had with her sister in a while and while rough it was rather nice.
Akiko’s expression quickly changed hiding her expression. “Not that I care for you or anything!” she said over her shoulders as she disappeared from sight.
Luna’s exhausted sigh echoed in the now empty dining portion of the kitchen and the scrap of her chair screeched even louder as she harshly stood up, causing her to duck her head as she cringed.
She slowly made her way to room, taking her time as she analysed her surroundings and shook her head as she reached her door.
“Looks like papa still doesn’t know the difference between a house and a home, huh?” she said as she slowly opened her door.
Looking around she noticed that she had a desk, with her laptop already set up for her leisure. Throwing her self onto the chair in front of her desk, Luna slumped slightly in effort to relax as she quickly opened her laptop and entered her password.
Almost ritualistically, she automatically moved her mouse to the Wi-Fi symbol and clicked it. If she was correct Mable should have put in the Wi-Fi password for her laptop, but she wanted to make sure just in case.
Luna’s eyes flickered on the tab and her eyes widened slightly. The name of the Wi-Fi wasn’t in English but in what she assumed to be the language of Geohekanra. Luna’s eyes furrowed.
“Now that if think about it.” Luna started, “Mable has a brother here, so does that mean she was born here?”
Letting the thought hang in the air she clicked what she assumed to be the search engine the area used and spent time familiarising her self of the basics of the site. Scrolling through the sections of the sites she found a news article, it looked pretty old meaning that she had accidently scrolled down to far, she was about to press the back button, uninterested in reading it but the vivid pictures got her attention.
Slaughtered bodies laid on the ground deformed and unrecognisable that it could be seen as inhuman. Bodies missing eye’s, arms, legs, hands and teeth, ripped from their bodies or hanging limply from their sockets.
The blood and gore spoke volumes of the incident and Luna covered her mouth in hopes of not vomiting.
Luna quickly took her eyes of the pictures and quickly went to exit the news article. But not before passing the title that forced her to leave her seat and make headway for the toilet.
“A kings massacre, hundreds dead, one alive.”
