Cali’s mother, Nika (Glaso) Nightsall, stayed home with their little half demon daughter while Cali’s father, Paul Nightsall, went to work in town. They stayed just outside it because it was split between the humans and demons. Neither side liked the other residing on the opposite side. When Cali was 16, Nika went out for an errand but never came back. Cali waited with Paul day and night. This continued for 4 years with her father losing more and more hope since no one reported seeing her.
