She missed her parents but understood they saw her as the perfect choice, so didn’t argue it despite her not wanting that heavy responsibility. Still Rose misses the days growing and harvesting coral and kale. She tries to visit her parents as much as she can but escaping the throne is not simple. Her and Richard were married twenty years before he had gone to visit the people and returned injured, as were the guards. The wound became infected and neither human nor merman or mermaid medic could remove the illness. He passed away about a week later at age sixty, Rose was fifty.
