"Stupid alarm, fucking alarm" cursed Pawat as he reached out half awake half asleep to switch off the alarm clock that was vibrating madly on the bedside table.
"It's okay go back to sleep I will switch it off" someone said to him. He immediately fell back to catch a few more minutes of sweet sleep but wait! what?? Who just said that??
Pawat's eyes flew open under the covers and he quickly reached out to feel around the bed. His hand landed on an arm, a chest and a face!! "What the fuck?" He cursed loudly as he quickly threw away the covers, scuttled out of bed, ran towards the light switch and turned it on. "Go back to sleep. It's still 5am and you have no lectures today" said the man in a sleepy voice as he pulled a pillow over his face
"Who are you and why are you naked in my bed??" Pawat shouted in his best tough voice.
"Oh boy! Your dreams are getting worse. Come here let me hold you back to sleep" said the guy as he sat up and beckoned him over.
"I should just call the police huh??" Pawat threatened but much to his fears the guy just got up and walked towards him.
"Babe calm down okay?. " He said while reaching out to hug Pawat who just fidgeted and fought to be let go.
"We are both naked you idiot let go of me" he cried out.
"The more naked we are, the better."
"Son of a bitch let me go" cursed Pawat while using all his strength to be set free but his efforts were futile seeing that the other guy just held him with one hand as he caressed his hair with the other.
"Let me go and I will stop struggling" he tried to negotiate.
"Are you sure??"
"Hmm" Pawat nodded his head in affirmation and was finally set free. He turned around as if to go only to pick his phone and dash out of the room at full speed while dailing the police number.
"Pawat come back here , it's freezing outside" shouted the guy but Pawat did a mad rush to the living room, out the door and locked the guy inside.
"This will teach you to never enter people's houses" he said as he locked the door.
"Hope the police are quick or else they will find you frozen into a popsicle in your shorts. " said the guy from the other side of the door. The truth is it had been snowing all night. Pawat looked around and then looked at the guy standing naked in front of the glass door.
"Still better than getting raped by a stranger" he muttered to himself as he shivered and coughed.
"Atleast let me give you a coat as you wait Pawat. Don't be stubborn babe, if you die your father will crucify me" pleaded the guy as he held a coat in his hands.
"I know it's your escape plan. I open up and you take off with that jacket" Pawat said with his teeth clashing against each other.
"Hahaha that is actually a good one" the guy laughed off as he looked at Pawat who was rubbing his hands against each other trying to gather warmth.
Soon police sirens sounded in the distance. Pawat peeped in the house to look at his prisoner who was comfortably seated in the sofa in a warm fluffy sweater sipping some hot coffee unbothered.
"Idiot! " he cursed. "Wait till the police get here so you can know who owns this house".
Soon a police car pulled up at great speed but it wasn't alone. It was followed by a black 4WD. Four men came running out at full speed with a warm blanket and a tumbler with hot chocolate. Pawat was not even allowed to talk as he was all taken care of. The police man then walked over and greeted him.
"Good morning Mr Chitsawangdee, we are at your service"
"Arrest him " Pawat ordered as he pointed to the guy in his house who just looked at them and waved. To his surprise the four men bent their heads as if to salute him and the police man waved back with a smile.
"Open the door first sir so we can arrest him"
Pawat opened the door with a confused face. Everyone looked calm except him . More to his surprise. The policeman just saluted the guy.
"Good morning Mr Prachaya. Sorry about the delay but he is fine."
"Helllllooo it's me who called you" Pawat said as he waved his hands in the air to get attention.
"Yes sir you called first but your boyfriend called us to hurry and bring a blanket and a hot drink since you stubbornly closed yourself outside."
"He is not my.....".
"All the best sir. Since he is safe we shall be leaving now. Mr Chitsawangdee, your dad said he won't have any more winter shenanigans or else he will make you sit in the river for a day"
Pawat "..…......"
The four men walked out with the police officer, got in their cars and drove off.
"And what is the meaning of this??" Pawat roared as soon as the cars started. "I will need you to explain how I am your boyfriend and why even the police staff know it but I don't"
"Oh God!! Time to chill with this prank and let's start the day babe"
Pawat almost ran mad hearing the word babe.
"Babe??" Look here Mr Prachaya I don't know you okay?? he said as he hit his knuckles on the table. But the guy just looked at him with more interest than anger. As if he was used to it.
"It's either babe or Billie but not Mr Prachaya. That's my surname, my father's name. " He replied as he slowly approached Pawat with a smirk.
"Stay away from me!!!" He screamed.
"What if I don't stay away from you?? Huh? What will you do? I want to see what you can do..." said Billie as he took another step forward. Pawat calculated and it was only three more steps and they would be face to face. So as Billie took the next step, he dashed away from the wall but he was no match for this giant. His arm was pulled back in a spiral and he ended up in Billie's arms.
"Doesn't it feel warmer here" he cooed in his ear gently while holding him tight. This felt wierdly good and Pawat stopped struggling a bit. "You like it don't you??" He added.
"Yeah I do but you are holding me too tight I can't breath" Pawat replied with a pout.
"Oh sorry" Billie apologised as he loosened his grip only for Pawat to use the chance to push him back and run away.
"You think you are too smooth huh? Wait till I catch you" shouted Billie as he started the chase.
Pawat knew better this time as he locked himself in the bedroom and bust out in laughter.
"Let's see how you get me out of here"
Billie reached the door and knocked but no reply. He tried pushing the door but nothing and he couldn't break it. Then an idea popped in his head.
Meanwhile inside the bedroom, Pawat started ramaging around to find clues about this tall handsome boy who was so convinced they are dating. But nothing was there. Then he decided to check the trash can and there was nothing in it but wait!. He emptied it out on top of the sink and out fell a packet. He picked it up and it had a tiny microchip sealed inside.
"I don't remember owning a microchip" he muttered to himself and took it to the bedroom and put it on top of the closet. Just as he was about to look around a little more, a nice smell wafted in. The smell of grilled sausages and eggs. His stomach started grumbling.
"I can wait a little more, I can't surrender now" he reassured himself but his stomach and mouth wouldn't co-operate. He quickly stuck his ear on the door and listened. Nothing, no sound. Then he heard a squeak and the front door closed.
"He is going out. I should go and steal the food and bring it back here with me" he thought to himself. He quickly opened the door to rush to the kitchen.
" Caught you" shouted Billie as he grabbed him by the waist with one hand and the plate of food in the other. Pawat just played on a poker face.
"I came out to make sure you don't rob my house"
" Look at you lying through your teeth.. don't you want to eat though..it looks pretty good" Billie teased as he put the plate infront of him.
Pawat looked at the plate of food and his stomach betrayed him as it grumbled loudly.
"I can see you only came to check out the house" Billie teased some more as he pulled him closer.
"Hoiii let me go na.. let me go back inside" pleaded Pawat.
"If you wish" replied Billie as he let go of him " but don't come asking for food when you get hungry later"
"Man shall not live by bread alone but by the word of God" said Pawat matter of factedly as he held his arms behind.
"Haha even Jesus decided to multiply the fish and bread when he had the choice to feed the people on the word of God. Then how about you??"
"We must live in faith not doubt" replied Pawat as he closed the doors behind him.
"Amen pastor , let me go and eat while you feast on the word of the almighty." Billie answered.
Once in the room, Pawat kicked the wall in anger.
"You can't even tell me to stay and eat but you won't stop telling the whole world I am your boyfriend..stupid boy" he said to himself.
"I am still here babe. I can't eat without you"
Pawat"........"
Just then the door opened and Billie walked in with food. He set everything on the floor nicely as Pawat watched and then invited him to eat.
"I am just eating because I have nothing else to do but otherwise I wouldn't have"
"No, problem. Let's exchange meals .. I will eat the word of God while you eat my food" Billie mocked only to get a glare that silenced him.
They ate in silence and after the meal Billie washed the dishes and started cleaning the house. Pawat just went back to sleep after eating.
A few hours later, Pawat woke up to the sound of someone talking on phone. "This fool hasn't left yet" he thought to himself but didn't open his eyes. Then he heard.
"He doesn't remember a thing about yesterday"
"I threw away that microchip in the trashcan. Oh you still need it..let me check"
Pawat quickly opened his eyes. "What the hell is going on?? " Then he remembered the microchip on top of the closet just then he heard Billie coming back and quickly closd his eyes again.
"Dr Jones it's not there. I can't find it. I might have lost it. But its okay he knows nothing"
"I took the biggest blow, he can't even remember me a little bit. He doesn't know me. It's hard keeping a straight face. I feel like crying , I feel heartbroken. Everything I struggled to build all crashed in one day. I have to start from zero so let me love him in peace this time round. Leave us alone" he screamed out the last sentence.
Baaannng!!!!! went the phone as it hit the wall and Billie sat down on the floor and broke into tears. Pawat felt the tears well into his own eyes too. He slowly got up from the bed and walked over to him and wrapped his arms around him.
"Stop crying" he cooed to him only for the big guy to break down into fully blown sobs.
"I feel guilty Pawat. Sorry you had to hear that phone call. But I had to do it for you. I love you more than life itself"
"Shhhh!! It's okay... Calm down first and we shall talk"
They sat on the floor holding each other for a long time as Billie sobbed and Pawat calmed him down.
Then suddenly Billie picked a piece of paper and wrote on it.
"I can't tell you what happened cause if you remember, your whole memory will he erased and I will be killed immediately"
Pawat scrunched the paper over and pulled on some winter pants, a scarf, sweater and overcoat, picked something on top of the closet and walked out of the house. Billie just looked on scared to follow or even say a word.
Three days passed by with no sign of him. He wasn't at his home nor with friends or relatives. No one knew where to find him. Today was the last day of waiting before his dad could order for a big search to find his son. Billie just sat at the door everyday, crying himself to sleep and not eating anything.
"Pawat I still love you, please come back to me " he said to no one in particular all day long. Today was the last day and a hell would break loose as both families set out in search of the him. As usual, Billie was still near the door and soon cried himself to sleep.
A few hours later he opened his eyes and there infront of him was the one thing he would die for. "Babe" he shouted as he quickly sat up. "Must be a dream he thought to himself but a gentle knock on the door brought him to his senses. "Babe.. babe it's really you" he screamed as he opened the door and rushed to hug Pawat
"Don't break me to pieces" said Pawat as he hugged him back tightly.
"I missed you, I almost died"
"I missed you too, really missed you. Must be great having your memories with you huh??"
Billie froze in Pawat's arms. "Babe are you fine?"
"I definitely am. I watched the microchip you threw in the trashcan"
"You saw the whole thing??"
"Yes I did. Dad and that woman I saw them.. is that why you wiped the entire day worth of memories just to save his image"
"You had a heart attack after you walked in on him sleeping with her. The doctor saved your life but we couldn't risk having you remember that memory so they wiped it out but it ended up copying onto that microchip and I decided to take it incase you found out and needed the truth later on in life."
"I didn't get the heart attack because of that. I felt the signs earlier and decide to go tell my dad but the moment I reached the door I just saw him in bed with a woman and then I lost consciousness."
Billie "........."
"I think it only came up on the microchip because my eyes saw it and my mind registered it. I would have asked questions later as to why he cheated on mom but I wouldn't hate him for that... He is an old man he knows what he is doing" Pawat explained.
"I am sorry" Billie just mouthed out as he backed away from Pawat. " I don't deserve you, you are too innocent and too good" he added on as he walked to the sofa and sat down with a thud.
"I watched you everyday these past three days as you cried for me all day all night. I believe my dad pushed you to do it to save himself.. I don't remember you but one thing I know is you love me. " Pawat said softly as he moved towards him.
"But I wronged you Pawat. Please forgive me " Billie begged with tears in his eyes. "I can kneel, I can do anything you ask me to but please don't leave anymore"
"Shhhh stop crying na.... Take it that your memories were erased too and let's start afresh. I don't remember you but something tells me it won't hurt to love you.. let me learn to love you again" Pawat said as he wrapped his arms around him and put his cheek next to his.
"Let's press reset na" he whispered in Billie's ear and pressed a finger on his nose "This is the reset button" he said with a giggle.
"But but...babe."
"Shhhhhh !!!! we shall be fine... Let's go and cook dinner"
