As I stepped into the bright classroom, I knew something was wrong. Something was very, very wrong. In fact, something was so terribly wrong that I started to feel very nauseous. I couldn’t put my finger on what was so disturbing, and that just made me feel even more uneasy. I sat down at my desk shakily, and examined the scratched-up wooden surface, trying to figure out what was causing this feeling.
“Michelle, what’s wrong? You look as pale as a ghost!” Exclaimed my friend Caroline. She didn’t look too chipper either, probably due to not getting enough sleep. She has to wake up at 4:00am each and every morning to get ready for swimming. She’s a competitive swimmer. 666Please respect copyright.PENANAfiDRnfdx4j
“I’m totally fine,” I replied unconvincingly. “I guess I didn’t have enough to eat for breakfast this morning.”
The teacher, Ms. Robespierre, walked up to the front of the room to begin the first lesson of the day. Math again. Wearing some worn jeans and a yellow tunic, she turned around to face the board. Her white, curly hair was tied up in a ponytail, and it bobbed up and down as she moved. Despite being only twenty eight she had white hair. She says that she was born with a genetic defect that made it this way. As she wrote some confusing math equations on the board, I realized what was troubling me this whole time. We had math homework to do over the winter break, and I didn’t even start it!
Before the holidays, we had been assigned some homework to do over the vacation. We were given time to do the work in class, so we wouldn’t have to worry about school work during the hectic holiday season, but guess who didn’t take that opportunity? That’s right, it was me. I later forgot the paper at school, and it was never seen again. I was screwed. To make matters worse, during the time we were given, Ms. Robespierre kept prompting me to do the work, due to the fact that I often don’t finish my homework. Instead I was enjoying photoshopping some friend’s faces onto turtles.
“Remember the homework that we had over the break?” asked Ms. Robespierre in a friendly tone. It wouldn’t be friendly for much longer. “I’m coming around to check that it’s done.”
She started to circle the room, looking for unfinished papers. I shuddered. She was getting dangerously close to getting around to me. Judging by the look on everyone’s face, and the occasional murmur of ‘good work’ from the teacher, everyone else had completed their assignment. The mix of stress and chattering students started to give me a headache.
“Michelle? Hello…?” Ms. Robespierre questioned with a worried look on her face.
I must have zoned out!
“Ummmmmmm… y- y -y -yes?” I nervously stuttered in an almost whisper.
“May, I see your homework, please?”
“No. It’s not here.”
“What do you mean it’s not here?”
“I lost the paper I apologize terribly I’m sorry.”
“Why didn’t you do it in class?”
“I DON’T KNOW!” I hollered. Oops. I was about to cry.
A look of rage crossed Ms. Robespierre’s face. Some veins on her forehead popped out and her eyes practically leapt from their sockets. Her skin started to turn a shade of dark red, followed by purple. The class began to laugh.
“Excuse me?” she whispered, clearly not appreciating my antics and the laughter that followed. “You can’t lose your homework.”
“Sorry! I apologize! I SAID I APOLOGIZE!” I panickily exclaimed in severe distress.
“RAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!” Screamed Ms. Robespierre. “I’LL MAKE YOU NOT LOSE YOUR HOMEWORK!”
I watched her with fear as she went to her desk and picked up a fresh copy of the homework I had failed to do, as well as a very intimidating matte black stapler. Her footsteps sounded more horrifying than ever as they approached my desk. Ms. Robespierre had never been this enraged before. Once she was about three meters from the maroon plastic chair where I sat terrified, shaking with fright, she stopped to drink a can of ice tea. It was lemon flavoured. After she gulped down the entire can in only a few gulps, she resumed to getting revenge on me.
“Now I’m well hydrated!” She screamed.
I blacked out from terror.666Please respect copyright.PENANABdg5gt4g5R
