CHAPTER 4 (A violet flame)
It had been five minutes I checked, and Thomas was still in that room, from what I didn’t want to see, their bodies were too close, as if in an embrace. I called Samuel. He was at me side in two ticks.
“We need to get your son out, now.”
“Stay here Hunter. I know what to do, well I think I know what to do.” That was honestly not very reassuring. I watched the third silhouette appear in the room. Oh this is going as well as drowning. The room lit up. My soul, I was mesmerized. I had not seen that since the encounter Moses had. The colour was out of this world. Hang on are they having a party, or in the process of trying to smite the Goddess of Darkness, because two just became five, and a fight broke out. Well here I go. I grabbed my dagger and jumped through the open window.
“Wait, Hunter. It’s not her, she used a proxy. Look the violet flame does no harm to her. It really is not Metzli.” I nodded at Samuel. Yes it was crystal clear, she had played us like a violin. Wow, the Thomas double, really was his mirror image. “Can we all get out of here?” This place made me uncomfortable, and I could hear her laugh at us. Bitch. Well if the bitch fits…..
We drove away. Not one of us knew what to say. I looked in the rear view mirror, Samuel was staring out of the window, then I stopped so fast, our heads knocked together, and I just averted one hell of an accident. “Sam where the hell is Thomas?” Samuel looked at us. “He was right behind me, Hunter.” I made a u-turn. Thomas was not in the Motel. Thomas was nowhere to be found. Samuel cussed every word in the known human world and beyond. “Hunter, how do we trace her?”
“Samuel, I am not a blood-hound, but give me a second.” I searched in my mind for the glimpse she had given me. “Water, a port, and lots of buildings, sorry Samuel that is all I can see, but I know who can see much more.” I called Lydiana. My description was close, hers were spot on. The place we entered could feature on, the most haunted factory in the world. It was eerie, and old, and cold, and as silent as the grave, not even a rat to be seen, please can I see a rat, just one. There was no life in this place. Okay a bat, give me a bat, the flying kind. We went two by two, kind of biblical I say. I was teamed with Samuel. Ariel and Michaelus, and Ryan and ……hang on back up, who the hell was that? No time to ask, we searched. Not a sound. I listened even for a heartbeat. We went lower into the building, and it got colder. Then I heard it, the heats. I told Samuel telepathically. He asked how many hearts can I hear, referring to the once in jars. Six, I can hear six, Samuel, that doesn’t mean she killed Thomas. Just follow me.
Thomas was alive, but nailed to a table. That was honestly not a good sight, his wings had been broken. “Ryan, cover me and only me, I will free Thomas.” I covered Thomas mouth so he would not cry out, when I pulled a nail out. The tears pooled over, he was in serious danger of going into shock, Angel or not. He is flesh and blood. “Samuel, find that bitch and fry her, I have a human doctor, that is my friend, I will get Thomas into a hospital, find us in Tuscany.” I grabbed Thomas, and flew for his life. I found Guila at home and asked her to call the hospital, I will fly Thomas through a window. I left while she was talking to her son. Thomas was rushed into surgery. I sat and I waited. I called Lydiana, and told her what had happened. Then I waited. Andrea woke me up, I had not realized how tired I was. “Come with me, Hunter.” I followed the doctor into another room.
“I don’t know, how he survived, I have never seen anything like it. His heart is missing, Hunter, we did a heart transplant.” I puked, right there. After I could talk I asked if Thomas would live.
“I can’t say, right now, Hunter. The first twenty-four hours will determine that, we had a heart, thank God, and the surgeons that worked on him are deeply devoted, even more so now. I will pray, as you should. Hunter if he has any family, do Angels have family? Then get them here as soon as you can.”
I assured Andrea I would be back, I had a score to settle. I went back to the factory. The others were on their way to Thomas, this I wanted to settle on my own. The hearts were still in the jars.
“My-my, not the one I expected, but, hell, a lady cannot be too picky. And you are a fine specimen. So what can I do for you, oh Fallen one?” She manifested into her human form.
“I like you, Metzli, I watched you the night with Bradley, and damn I wanted in on the action, so do you want to oblige a brother, oh Goddess?” She watched me closely, then looked at her six hearts, debating whether to screw me, or to do her Ritual. I won the toss of the coin. Things got hot, I can’t believe my body would react to this vile creature. “Go on top, I want to see your face.” I whispered to her. She was fully human now. She sat on my abdomen. And could not see my hands. I have only used the violet flame once, it is a no-no, but I was desperate.
I moved her on top of me, and told her to close her eyes. The second I felt her move down. My hands glowed like purple fire. I touched her breast, she hunched back, then I ripped her heart out. She looked down at her beating heart in my violet hands, then she fell off me. I don’t think a zillion showers will ever wash me clean.
I had not mentally prepared myself for this part, no one is mentally prepared for this, that I can reassure you with the utmost conviction. While her heart beat, she was alive, we stared at each other. I got up, and watched her where she lay, I don’t know who is the victim in this scenario, honestly, my mind was not processing what I had done. I heard the other hearts, and on instinct, call it what you may, I stepped on her heart. There was no, whoosh, nor snap, crackle or pop. It burst into flames, I stepped back. Then she did, the smell was nauseating, no not sulphur nor the smell of burning flesh, it was none descriptive. Darkness fell over her and her heart, it kind of consumed both. I don’t know why I said it. “I am so sorry, Metzli.”
I grabbed the beating hearts. Then I sought out a motel. I scrubbed her blood off me, I felt tainted to my core. Then I paid for the room. I lied, my bad. I told the owner, there had been an accident, and I was not fit to be gazed on, I would have scared his patrons away. I paid double, and I left. I hid the car deep in the woods, and I high tailed it to the hospital.
“The last heart, doctor. It’s this one, believe me.” The heart they had placed in Thomas was being rejected. I asked Andrea, to use the other five hearts as soon as he could. He was not one to ask questions. Thank God for that, so we waited. All I said to Samuel was. “Metzil is dealt with.” From the look on my face, he let me be. They all did. I went and sat under a tree. I needed to breathe. Using the violet flame, could have dire consequences. It is an ancient tool, one that had a long standing connection to Moses, and his abilities. The violet flame works on a high-frequency energy. It changes negative energy to positive, and it is mostly used by Ascended Masters, those whom abide in the seventh realm. How do you kill darkness? Shine a little light on it.
That was the only thought I had, at that moment. I said a prayer, then I wept, I don’t know why. It saddens me to take a life, the way she looked at me, she was begging for her life. I didn’t feel Samuel connection to my thought, until he placed his arms around me, then I let the flood gates open. “You saved other lives, my son’s included, the transplant is a success, Hunter. I know good does not outweigh bad, but today, you are my hero, thank you.”
Andrea assured me the other five hearts had found bodies, and two were for a young girl and the other for an adolescent boy. “They will grow up, and live full lives, Hunter.” None of their words made me feel any better. I went to the Chapel, and I asked the Padre’ if he would hear my confession. He would, and he did, all I could feel, was how deeply he needed his own faith restored. Not that he lacked, no. all the deaths he dealt with was weighing him down. So I opened my wings and I enfolded him in it. Well that did the trick. We as Angel’s Fallen, or those with their halo’s fully intact, can give back, a hug, a friendly word, reassurance, but above all, FIATH. We have that gift, we can do so much, for the human race, the get ill, the suffer, are abused, berated, hungry, you name it, and we need to do is spread our wings, a crust of bread will taste like a five course meal to a happy man.
Thomas recovered, I went to visit him after two weeks in ICU. “Hey Hunter, come here bro.” I held him gently, his wings hung every which way, and believe me I know how that feels.
“How are you feeling? I got your heart back?” Thomas laughed, well more like a chuckle. “Yes, Hunter, you got my heart back, thank you. How are you, you are looking mighty off my friend.”
“Thomas, I need a breather, I am no murderer at heart, no pun my friend, I don’t think I could ever take my own heart for granted, I trap, and I exorcise, but I have never killed.” Thomas frowned.
“Hunter, do you remember the Anakim?”
“They are not easily forgotten, Thomas. God commanded us to take them out, and not to tea.”
“Exactly, God commanded. In a war, you listen to your Commanding officer, and that is what you did when you put an end to Metzli, I am pretty sure, she is alive, the Goddess of Darkness, will be back one day, the fact that she was not reunited with her, twin, well that will be all the encouragement she will need to be back, so I think, take a trip, and go on a date, with the lovely Lydiana. All the monsters and devils will still be here when you return.”
This time I listened, and yeah, Thomas had a point, you cannot kill the immortal. So I found my car, went to the barber. And I phoned Lydiana. Damn I was nervous. I have never been on a date, it never crossed my mind. Yet here I was dressed to impress and all sweaty palms. Once I saw her, that all vanished. And I thought only Angels have a calming effect.
The dinner was superb, Noodle lay asleep on my lap while we had coffee in the den, it is a charming room, filled with antiques, and stunning paintings, not overdone, just a place of comfort. We spoke about life in general, Lydiana is highly intuitive, and the lady has a formidable mind.
“Hunter, you don’t need to answer me, but why did you leave Heaven? You had it all. Forgiveness, God, a family. You where in the one place, we humans have to strive to go, and the road to Heaven, is not an easy path, it is filled with tests, and pain, disappointment, we never get to see God, we never get to hear God. You had Him right there, why would you give that up?”
“When you do a cross-over, what is the first thing a soul or a spirit says to you?” Lydiana thought for a while. “It is always the same, they miss touch, being touched, holding their loved one for one last time.” Realization flickered in her lovely eyes. “You can’t feel?”
“Yes, we can’t feel. We were created to protect man from devils. We were created to glorify God, day and night. Yet I have not seen God, that does not mean that I don’t believe in God, I do unconditionally. But I wanted something else, I had no clue what it was until I hit the ground, and very human-like, I wanted back to Heaven the second I hit the ground. We honestly are never content with what we have, we want more, even though we cannot define what that more is.”
I scratched Noodle, he purred with delight. I love animals, all of them, they are what they are, and they stay true to their true-natures.
I checked my watch, I had been here for much longer than anticipated. “Lydiana, thank you for a lovely evening, and for your cat, he makes me miss Sam, the cat, no not the Angel.” We both giggled a little. “You are most welcome, it is an honour, Hunter, and I would love to do it again.” I could feel the uncertainty in Lydiana. So I pulled her into my embrace and enfolded her in my wings. “I like you lady, more than I can admit to myself.” She looked up at me, then I lifted her up, she is so tiny. She kissed me, no I am not complaining, damn my heart went ballistic, it was the most, how shall I describe it, divine feeling I have had in a long time. I kissed her again, hey I needed to be sure, and bang, that feeling swept all over me. She held on tight, it is the most surreal feeling, to have someone hold you with their soul. I knew at that moment that I would fall, this time I wanted to.
“I am new to the courtship thing, so help me please, lead, beloved woman and I shall follow, teach me and I shall learn, correct me and I shall be blessed…..” That was as far as I got, and she kissed me again, was it something I said? We spoke with her in my arms, oh I could hold her for days. She caressed my wings, then my face, and my chest. “Hunter you are perfect, hush. I want to say this, this is the first lesson in courtship, listen to the other person, their feelings, be it big or minuscule, is the most important information you can get, that is how you build trust. So when I say, you are the most beautiful being I have ever seen, you know where you stand with me. Well I float, you do the standing.” I had to smile. “My apologies, thank you Lydiana, as you are the most beautiful being I have ever seen.” I kissed her and placed her on the floor. I felt lost, as if I had lost something, so I picked her up again, and this time, she really taught me how to kiss.
I ended up staying for five days. In the spare bedroom. I would never take advantage of a lady, and never one I intend to marry. Those few days taught me the magic of communication, it is as powerful as the violet-flame. It opens up a higher understanding, by the time I was standing at the front door ready to leave, Lydiana and I had set a date, for our nuptials. Samuel, had called the night before. Some calamity again, however, Thomas was doing well, not fantastic, but he will live. So duty called. I kissed Lydiana inside her house before I left. I placed a prayer of protection over her and all she owned. Parting is not sweet sorrow, it sucks. There that is my take on that BS. Damn it felt as if my heart was being ripped out. Now I fully understand why humans use the phrase, love hurts.
I found Samuel, and Michealus at my house. I asked them to give me a second, so I ran next door, kissed my cat, and Guila. Then returned to my home, that oddly felt unfamiliar to me. “I could say I missed you two, but that would be a blatant lie, so what do we have to deal with this time?” Samuel smiled. Yeah, we love Michaelus just the way he is.
“We heard via the grapevine, that Liam Woods has gone dark, by that I mean the child is summoning demons. Since Bradley’s death, the boy has now become a real menace. According to his Mom, Natty Woods, the boy has become completely Satanic, he has been expelled, and no school will take him, he has attacked her numerous times, and no tutor will go need the child. From what I hear, the child has been marked, now I don’t know if it is self-inflicted, or a real demonic omen, so we better take a look.”
“He has the Satanic-bible locked up under his bed, but I thought, that was because of the whole Abrux BS.”
“Well, he has gone dark-side, apparently they have cookies.” I only shook my head. “Yeah, Samuel, cookies.” I had a shower, and went to see Thomas, he really is healing well. Then off to the Black Hills. It is such a historical place, of grandeur and living legends, I don’t know how anyone can become evil in such a place, well many I could. Adam and Eve did live in the Garden of Eden, so I take that back.
We came down to earth as Watchers, so watching Liam Woods, was second nature to us. The boy was clearly, not functioning on all the correct spark plugs, I watched him slap Natty across the face. Samuel held me back. We waited. “Hunter, if we are going to exorcise this boy, it has to be for a far better reason than slapping his Mom, not that I agree, he will get his, that I can promise you, but, we need to really see what the hell he is up to, another exorcism, can be fatal.” I nodded, then watched.
Thus far, I can tell the boy has no friends. No one calls, and no one visits, people do not even walk past their house, they cross the road, well this had my full attention. “What did Liam do?” I know Samuel had read my mind. “He tortured his cat, then he ate it.” I sat completely frozen for a full five minutes, yes, that will top the list, of disturbing. “He ate the cat?” Samuel nodded.
“Do you think he is possessed, or just acting out?” Samuel shrugged. “I don’t have a clue.”
We watched as Natty, switched on her night light, it never went off, that lady is terrified of her son, that is for sure. “I am going in, keep your thoughts connected to mine.” The house had a bad odour, it had not been cleaned in a very long time, the place where Bradley died, had not been cleaned, the stench of death hung in the air. I listened. Liam was in the back of the house, he was chanting something. “Guys, you better get Natty to safety, then come in here.” I heard Samuel fly in and out of her window. She was so dozed up on sleeping pills, she never even woke up. Samuel and Michaelus flanked me. “He is doing a sacrifice, to Lucifer. Smell the blood, and no not the old blood, this house should be destroyed.” They both nodded, once an evil entity takes hold of a home, it is best do burn it to the ground, even with new rugs and paint, it will not remove the evil. We listened. “Shit, another cat, let’s go.” We burst into the back room, the smell made us retch. I grabbed the cat, and tossed it out the window, this was the ground floor. It is whom sat in the chair, that stopped us in our tracks. Bradley Woods, sat staring back at us, the hole in his chest, was so big I could see the other side of the couch. “Well, Bradley. Wow, so this is what your son has been up to, keeping you from the hot seat?”
Bradley shrugged. “He has not failed me yet.” No wonder Natty had to comatose herself, the poor woman will be scared for life, I know I am looking at zombie-Bradley. Man I cringed. “Guys, anyone, what do we do?” Samuel answered. “Grab the boy. Get him far away from this house. Michaelus and I will deal with zombie-Bradley, and that ghastly book.” Before zombie-Bradley could get up, I grabbed Liam, the child was clearly possessed, it took all of my strength to fly him out of there. I took him to the hospital, and I tried to explain that they needed to sedate him, and keep his Mom safe. The doctors did listen, after I asked them if Bradley Woods body ever made it to the morgue, well it did not and there was no record of a burial. When I reached the Woods home, it was a furnace. Michaelus and Samuel kept the fire department at bay, all they had to do was stop the fire from spreading. “Where is zombie-Bradley?”
“Staked to the chair, and in the fryer.”
“Thank you, Samuel for that mental image.” Samuel smiled.
“Samuel, Bradley needs a burial, or he will haunt.”
“I know, Hunter, that’s why I staked him to the couch, I will get him out once I can see his soul, then the humans can take over, I need to send his soul down under, he is an abomination, I will never allow him to walk the earth in any form.” I nodded. We both saw the soul. Samuel grabbed hold of it, and Michaelus fetched the body from the burning house. He handed it to the fire chief, whom dropped it in utter disgust. “You all should really bury your dead.”
I watched Samuel hand the soul over to Ryan, that cannot be good. So I looked away. Next was Liam.
