CHAPTER 7 (Friend or Fae)
Lydiana sat with her hands in her hair, her mantra had become. “What have I done?”
“Oh get over yourself Lydiana, don’t tell me you actually had feelings for that fool you called your husband. Lydiana shook her head in dismay, she was thankful Abigail could not see her expression.
“You are a sanctimonious Jezebel”, retorted Lydiana. The full extent of her role in this game had bowled her over. How and why had she not seen the truth, why? Why did she do any of the things she did? She of all people should have known better. God be her judge and whatever follows. She had to find employment, she tried to phone Hunter, but he cut her calls, not that she blamed him, she tried to have her husband murdered, a Fallen Angel, none the less, how in hell do you justify such an heinous act? No she messed up, and now it’s time to pay the pied piper.
“Abigail, get out of my house, I don’t care where you go, or how you go, but go.”
Abigail laughed. “You have the gall to call me sanctimonious? I will go. My work is done.” Abigail laughed when the cab driver helped her into the cab. She had won, even if Hunter lived, she ruined Lydiana. And she knew Michaelus and Sam where no longer on earth, she won. The town was Angel free, now she could put plan B into motion. Even though she could not see, she didn’t need eyes for the next plan, oh no, her next “friend” would be her eyes.
Lydiana did a house cleansing, she fired Uncle James on the spot. The house was so quiet, the silence, shouted at her, accused her, and the silence was absolutely correct, she was a bad person. She missed Noodle, and had no idea if her cat lived or not. “What have I done?” She opened her cards, which no longer “spoke” to her. She needed to find closure, yet she stated at the cards, they said nothing, what would they say? That she was a terrible person? That much she knew. Her annulment papers had arrived. Hell no, she missed Hunter. How can one be so blinded? One that professed to see? Murder? Lydiana sobbed. She was lucky the Reaper left her alive, however, this was a just punishment living with your guilt can kill you. She left Hunter a voice-mail, asking him to come to her, she needed to explain. She needed to do something. She walked around her house aimlessly. She was so lost. “My own fault….” Hunter stood in front of her. She was frozen on the spot.
I am not sure why I came, I guess it’s the lessons my Father taught us, forgive so you can be forgiven. Lydiana looks terrible. She has not slept, well neither have I. “You wanted to see me. Here I am, I don’t have the whole day Lydiana, so say what you wanted to say, or I am leaving, I actually have some Angel-business to attend to.” The latter was not a lie, but it was not necessary to be snide, either. “Would you like a cup of coffee?” In my core I wanted to say no, but my head, nodded yes, so I sat at the kitchen table, and watched her make the coffee, she was scared, I wonder if she feared me? We went to the den, it was cold in the house, it felt as if the “power’ had left the building, rendering it a tomb. “Hunter….” She started to cry.
“Lydiana, I just need to know why? Why you hate me so much, that you would conspire to kill me? That you would allow, willingly allow a demon into our bedroom, how you played me like a effing fool? I need to know why?” She tried to hold back the tears, but they pooled over.
“I met Abigail, many years ago, she was running away from Sam, or shall I say Samuel. he had prophesied, that she would give birth to one of the Keys, the seven years where up, I suggested, that she marry Mich, he had been with her since she was three, and they were really close. So she did, but, Sam was different back then, he was ruthless, and he forced her to make some drastic choices, which led to the birth of Abrux, and we all know what he did to her, even when he was in the form of a babe. Then Thomas came along, and she formed a bond with him, never anything romantic, even though she had moved away, we stayed in contact.
Then Sam reappeared, and she was terrified. I helped fake her death. She had enough money to live under the radar for a life time. Then one day you arrived, and she linked you to Sam, the bad Sam, I didn’t know he had died, and that he was transformed, she told me of Mich’s passing, if that is the correct terminology. Then, suddenly Sam was back. Thomas had a son, Veronica’s son, was a Key. Tyler was the sixth Key, and the demons were back. I never “looked” I trusted her, I believed her, when she said, all the Fallen were evil. I am so sorry, I don’t know how I ever thought of you being evil. She then suggested we save the human race, from you. So I married you, and we put this horrible scheme into motion. The fact that I had a Curen in my back yard, never troubled me, I lost my mind, Hunter. I don’t know when or how. But the things I did, it was not by my free-will, I love you. That is a fact, I would never have done this to you, not if I was in my right mind. I am not making excuses, I am not. I am trying to explain my part in all of this to you.”
I thought about it. While I sipped my coffee. Abigail is damaged, that is a fact, and I really do not blame her, she had been through hell, the Sam that walked the earth before he died, was a lost soul, he would do anything and not look back. But, Abigail had no right to judge, and what the hell did I have to do with this? None the less I took her hand. “Walk with me, take your coat, if you are being honest, then we will find the evidence that your mind was being altered, right here in your garden, when you and Abigail started your diabolical plan, to murder the emissary’s of God, have you seen any balls of light at night?”
“Yes, Hunter, always around the pond, but I thought it was either my imagination, or it came from the Curen, not that I know a thing about the Curen.” Lydiana literally hung her head in shame. It was getting dark so I watched the pond. And lo and behold, “Will-o’-the-wisp, or Luz Mala, evil light”. There is so much Lore surrounding these balls of light, one is that is the soul of an unbaptized babe, or that it can alter the minds of humans, I think the latter is applicable here. I will get this out of here. Will-o’-the –wisp, well it will destroy your life. Unlike the Fae, these things are out for blood. I will ask Ryan if I can restore your gifts, use it for good, or this here in my hands will be back, only you have the power to invoke a manmade demon, and this here in my hand is what your bad thoughts created. I forgive you, because I want to and not because it’s a clause in my contract with my Father. But we are done. I might call on you for help, but I am not your friend, Lydiana, get that through your head, I will never be your! Friend.”
I heard her sob as I flew away. Too harsh you think? Well having your heart placed in a grinder, well, that hurts more. So we will leave well enough alone, she can have her powers back. Now see what a nice bad guy I am. I handed Luz mala to Ryan, well one might have thought it was Christmas the way his face lit up. “Restore her gifts, and you can have that ball of loveliness.” Ryan nodded, he touched my hand. “Here give it back to her, I need to go.”
He left with the ball of light in his pocket. I have no time for fooling around. I went back to Lydiana. She swore to do good, I touched her head, and I could see her gift shine through her eyes. “If I ever hear, that you have had any contact with Abigail Marshall, there will be dire consequences.” Lydiana nodded. I left, this is way too much emotions. I stopped by Thomas, we had work to do, and Ryan was MIA. What he was up to with Luz mala, I honestly don’t want to know, ever. But Thomas and I had an infestation, in his old homestead, it seems, the bogeyman has taken up residence in that house. Or what was left of it. Oh do not frown, the bogeyman is not to be taken lightly. He has a reason for coming, and that reason is always linked to a child, what is more frightening than the bogeyman, is the fact that parents conjure him, to scare their children into submission.
Thomas and I sat on top of my hill, watching his house. “That is a lot of activity for an abandoned home.” I observed. There were flashes of lights, all around the ponds, and wells. “There is a water-nymph in your well.” Thomas nodded. “What is it doing here?” he asked me. “Well they are up to no good, that much I do know.”
We went into the house, or what was left of it. The doors were missing, most of the windows broken, nearly all the furniture were gone. Yeah this would be a perfect spot for the bogeyman. He would feel right at home. I recognized him, he plagued Tyler as a baby with nightmare’s and ghoulish images, not one you would ever call a friend, he even scared me. He had a Fae in a bottle and was shaking it mercilessly. “Nackk, do you think you can give that innocent creature a break?” He looked up at me, and threw the bottle into the fireplace, I grabbed for the bottle, but two Baels grabbed us from behind. I don’t want our wings broken again.
Thomas and I shared the same thought. So we will get out, when we could.
“Okey dokey, Nackk, I see you have made some new friends. So what do you want?” I knew what he wanted, and I think I am walking out of here, because there is no way I will divulge the whereabouts of Tyler. Nackk was ugly as sin. Imagine this skeletal-figure with sunken eyes, and long hands and nails lurking under your bed at night, they are utter monsters, and parents are responsible for their creation. “Eat your broccoli, or the bogeyman will get you.” Yeah, very healthy way of raising a child to love and respect you, the worst part is, little Tommy goes to his Mom, and tells her there is a monster under his bed, then he gets a beating for telling the truth.
“I don’t like your friends, Nackk, they are mean bastards, and since when have you, become Abrux’s bitch? I thought you were too independent to form an alliance with the demons, now I see they work for you? Or do you work for them?” He was getting angry, he scratched his nails all along the arm of the couch. “You ask too many questions, Hunter. And don’t try to trap me, that devils-trap shit does not work on me. So tell me where Tyler Lane is.” Nackk looked at Thomas. Thomas didn’t flinch at the mention of his son’s name. I had no idea, if Nackk knew who Thomas was.
“I don’t know where Tyler Lane is Nackk, as you can see, no one lives here anymore. Abrux, is back in the hot seat, and some of the Six are dead, so I honestly don’t know what you are trying to accomplish here?” I heard the hell-hounds. I am starting to think, Nackk, had made a deal with Abrux, and that my very delicate soul was hanging in the balance. I didn’t struggle, Thomas and I were thinking of every scenario we could as to how to get the hell out of there. Yeah Gods Word will work on the demons, but not on Nackk. I wish I had called Ryan, we are in over our heads right now.
“I don’t believe you. The Boss said, that if you don’t tell me where Tyler Lane is, that I should allow one of the Baels to take you to him, he wants to have a heart to heart with you, Hunter.”
“Why does Abrux want the boy? The Six-keys are scattered, it will take a few years to get the six back, so what now?” Nackk shrugged. “I don’t care Hunter, I don’t care if you live or die, just tell me where Tyler Lane is, or you are going into the Pit.” I looked Thomas. He was not strong enough to fight, not yet. “Okay, I shall purge, but, you need to let my friend go, he is just a man, as you can see, Nackk, he was in an accident, so let him go, and we can talk.” Nackk looked at Thomas. “GO”, said Nackk.
In my mind, I told Thomas to find Ryan, fast, and if I was not here, to send him into hell to find me. Thomas limped out. He only flew off when he was at a safe distance.
“The Pit, I will not tell you where the boy is.” Nackk nodded, the house turned into a fiery furnace. The last thing I saw was the charred body of the Fae. It was hot as hell in Hell. I was no longer dealing with the lesser-demons. No the hell-hounds walked beside them. I don’t know how I am getting out of here, there are no exit signs. The things I saw were not human, their features where hideous, they smelt strange, they sounded even stranger. They left me in something that resembled a room, it was too hot, and I was terrified, some of these demons, I put here, they escaped and I put them back, over and over again. Some were not demons, they were my Fallen brothers. This is not easy for me to look at, the changes in them. They no longer had any glory, and their black wings were broken. They hung on their backs. They looked at me with unadulterated loathing. Abrux entered the so called room, all smug. He can’t keep me, well I don’t think he can. Can he? I should have asked that question before I jumped into the deep end, or the fire. Yes there are many kinds of fire here, fire that act as a prison. Fire that char a soul. Fire that destroy a body. The apex of this place is fire.
“Nice to see you Hunter. Would you like a beer?”
“No.” I knew Abrux would toy with me. No actually, I jumped in here blind. “The lovely Abigail, told a friend, where you where, and that friend told another, you get my drift. And looky here, I have you right where I want you. I take offence to the fact that you blinded her, not very patriotic of you Hunter. You swore to protect the clay-puppets, hell you even married one, getting soft I see.”
I had no words, all I knew was, I was in deep shit, and I should not have come. Two of my former brothers, ambushed me, and tied me to a cross. Man this is not good. They really are evil personified. “Guys, not a cross, please, anything else.”
“Oh, how very holy of you Hunter, not wanting to be associated with the Son. Well I have news for you. If you don’t tell me where Tyler Lane is, well then you will become a martyr.”
“No, I don’t know where the boy is, I have been recently married, and I was living a human life, Samuel and Michaelus returned home. So it’s me, my wife and my cat.”
“Wow, lier-lier, pants on fire. Abigail told us what happened. Nackk has been sleeping under Lydiana’s bed since your annulment, to you think I am a fool?” Shit, what the hell is wrong with me, why would I attempt to deceive a deceiver. “Hoist him up, a nail for every lie, he tells us.” They nailed both my hands to the cross, the nails were on fire. I cannot describe the pain.
“We cannot find Tyler, and we need him, Hunter. The Boss, wants out of here, so he wants the six-keys united, and he will get out.” I shook my head.
“Abrux, Liam Woods is dead, there are no six-keys.” Abrux thought about that, then nailed my feet to the cross. I will have these marks for life, and I am not worthy of them. The nails were on fire, but it only burnt in the holes it had made. “So, who do we have, let’s count, Hunter, you do know how to count, right. Oh that nail, was out of boredom. Man my Mommy is still so sexy, and so terrified of Angels. Oh wait, I am having a wet-day-dream. Okay now. So Liam is dead, too bad. So we have Richard, that’s one. Shane, that’s two. Dennis, that’s three. Roger, that’s four. Tal, that’s five and Tyler makes six.” They stabbed me in my side. I could feel the life drain out of my, yet I was not dying. I know I cannot die in here, it might feel like it, but they cannot kill me.
“So, now there you have it, we have six-keys.” Yeah I had it alright, I was dying, yet I wasn’t.
I died and came to, within a split second, as they nailed my hands to the cross. Abrux was very impressed with himself, the next time I died, when I came to, I heard him say. “Do it again.” And the nails entered my hands.
This happened at least sixty-six times. I am losing my grip on my mind. I just want to go home, forgive Lydiana, and go back to my normal life. That’s when I noticed I was not alone. Opposite me, nailed to a cross was Lydiana. “Father, I beseech thee, save your beloved daughter.” I didn’t stop praying until they stuck a flaming poker into my mouth, then I prayed in my head. The nailed her to the cross. “How did she get here?” I tried to ask through my flaming mouth. “Oh Nackk have her a heart attack, and I guess the boys in gold, didn’t not approve of her methods, so the hell-hounds pulled her in just a few seconds ago”, explained Abrux. Lydiana was hysterical. “Hunter, am I dead?” I nodded. “Am I in Hell?” I nodded. “Then why are you in Hell?”
“Abrux want’s Tyler.”
“But you don’t know where Tyler is. He is being protected.” I thanked Lydiana for that. I watched as they stripped her. My head was tied, so I looked. They cut her, the sodomized her, she screamed in agony. They nailed her to the cross, and stuck thrones into her head. She was naked and covered in blood. Abrux, was about to mount her when, a light blinded him. “Ryan!” I shouted. But hell I was wrong. It was Lucifer. He looked at me, then at Lydiana, and Abrux limp penis. “What is this woman accused of Abrux?” Abrux made up so many stories, the truth could not be pin pointed in any of them. “I don’t want her here, take her back to her body, now!”
Lucifer walked up to me. “Do you know where Tyler Lane is?”
“No, Lucifer, I don’t. We don’t even telepathically talk about it, to keep him safe from Abrux, he does not like Abrux, at all. Abrux abused the boy, he tried to raise him as a demonic-babe. The boy had scarlet-eyes, but he had an Angel inside him. When we could we kidnapped the boy, he was given from the one to the next, until no one knew where he was.”
Ryan stepped into the room. “He told you, he doesn’t know where the boy is, so if you are done, Lucifer. I am taking him home.” Lucifer stepped out of the way. Ryan picked me up. And we teleported to Lydiana’s house.
Andrea had tended to her wounds. He came over to me. “Ryan we need to bath him, before I can help him.” They put me in the tub, I screamed with pain. “How long did they have me?” I had to know. Ryan answered. “Six months Hunter. That is how long it took me to find you in that place. Rest, let the doc patch you up, that stigmata will be with you for life.” I looked at Ryan. “I am not worthy.”
“I beg to differ”, said Samuel. He embraced me. Then he marked me. “You are free, Hunter, your Father has forgiven you, you are now one of us.” I was in tears, I could feel the glory burst through my body, my wings opened and I healed, but the scares stayed. I healed Lydiana. She had to shield her eyes. “God be with you.”
“And with you.” We greeted each other, I was about to leave, when I looked under her bed. “Lydiana, when I drag this thing to hell, bless your home, so no entity can enter, ever again.”
“Are you an entity, Hunter?” I nodded. “Then I shan’t do it, or you won’t see your son be born.”
I had Nackk by the ankle, and I was dragging him out of the house. I stepped on his nails, he wailed. He was scratching up the floors. “What do you mean, woman?”
“I am carrying your offspring, doctor Andrea says he is healthy.” I had to wrap my head around so many things. But being a Father. Oh wow. I dragged Nackk all the way to the pit, and dropped him in. “Oh, that place was made for you, go terrorize all the children you want to, but, be warned, Nackk, they bite back.”
Ryan closed the portal. “A baby?” He asked me. “I guess so.” He nodded, and left. I blessed the home. Cleared it from all evil. I placed a few of my feathers all over the house. It would protect Lydiana and my unborn son. I shall not marry. No. not in the form I am now. I have no need for it, marriage. My Father is an excellent Father, and we never questioned who our Mother was. So I will be the best Father to my son. As my Father is to me.
I told Lydiana I would be back. Then I flew up to heaven. I needed to see my home. My Book of Life. I needed to repent, and to see my Father. The three of us waited. Samuel, Thomas and I for Saint Peter to open Heaven’s Gates. I never thought I would be here again, and I vowed not to leave, unless, it was a direct order. But for now my place was in Heaven. Michaelus joined us, as we entered the Gates. “Who is going to defend earth, while we play in the clouds up here?” He asked me. “I don’t know, time will tell.” It sure did.221Please respect copyright.PENANAD5tH3ll7FR
