Blood drips from the silver pendant like a wet ceiling. Caspian desperately clenches to his mother's gift as the one wearing black try to snatch it from him.
"S-stop it please!" weep the young victim. His white-collar shirt is stained with his blood from the bullies stealing his necklace that was around his neck.
"Or what huh!! Is it a gift from your girlfriend?" teases the one wearing black while taking the heart locket pendant hostage and waving it in the air as high as he can.549Please respect copyright.PENANATTTSMc3Y0j
"I don't have one!! Give it back, please!" wail Caspian, trying to retrieve his treasure by jumping.
"You think we're gonna give it back to you if you say please!? What a loser you are, no friends to save you." said the one with a man bun. The one holding his necklace tosses it to the other side of a gate. Caspian and the others gaze at the necklace dropping right in front of the old charcoal gate. A growl is heard from the distance, on the other side.
"What the fuck was that sound?!" said the one wearing black. "Let's bail from here!" said the one with a man bun. "That's what you get for being a loser with no friends!" said the quiet guy at the back as their gang run from the crime scene.
Caspian stood in front of the rusted victorian gate, starring at his pendant. It was as if he was almost gonna cry. "Why does nobody wants to be my friends..." said Caspain to himself. 549Please respect copyright.PENANAGjSHlW9S8y
Bur for now, he had another problem. Was he going to enter there after hearing that groan? But he had to retrieve it somehow, it is his only connection with his mother. If he does go in there, only after a few steps and he could escape right away.
"That's right, I can do it!" told himself Caspian, trying to believe himself as he gulps and clenches his backpack on his shoulder. He could pass through the side of the gate, unguarded by any fence. But it would mean he would have to step on the small red and blue flowers, which he would rather avoid. Another way is underneath the gate itself. The gap is big enough for Caspian, a small boy for his age.
His plan was set in stone. He left his bag on the right post and began to slide underneath the gate. Once he was on the other side, his eyes adjusted to the dime garden. The tall trees forbade the rays of light to warm the sad and gloomy forest. It felt as if the trees were closing unto him, trapping him in this dark place.
In the far distance, Caspian could see the silhouette of a young girl surging from the mist on the bridge straight ahead. He heard a violent clicking sound from behind and he quickly turned to see where it came from. A black rabbit was on the left post, closing the gate for good. Guess the gateway was open.
The rabbit's scarlet eyes stared in Caspian hazel eyes as the beast jump on top of Caspian head unto the ground, making his way to his owner, the girl. She was probably around Caspian age, 12. She wore a large summer hat with a black ribbon, a beige short sleeve shirt and a simple long raven skirt.
"Is that yours?" asked snow-white as she picked up Caspian pendant. "What a pretty necklace you have.." continued while looking closely, holding the pendant with a pinch, one arm behind her.
"Ye-Yes, it is..." stutter Caspian, looking at the bunny climbing on her shoulder. He did not anticipate his necklace to be that far away. "Can I have it back?"
"No... I want to keep it." answered the girl, putting the pendant around her neck. "I'm getting hungry,--- glad you're here." desirously said the girl, licking her bright red lips as if a table full of food was in front of her.
The rabbit grew larger and larger, big enough to eat an elephant in one bite. He looked a bit translucent and his glowing red eyes were fixated on Caspian as the girl giggled while biting her lips.
Before Caspain could process what was happening, the creature launches at him, wanting a piece of Caspain pale skin. Instinctively, he dodges the monster but he could feel a cold breeze through his right leg. He jumps on the left side of the path since the right side was enclosed with a white fence. He ran without looking back. He pushed branches, leaves and bushes trying to get as far as he can go.
His leg eventually gave up. His face was bright red, and his breath was heavy. He could not feel his leg anymore, and his dirty shirt clung to his back. He rested by a tree stump, behind small bushes. 549Please respect copyright.PENANAuzPj1x8jZm
He was still on the edge of the garden, so on his left side, an opening revealed itself with the light of hope. It was his chance to get away, but it was impossible. Caspian is not going to give up that easily. He would have to face that crazy cannibal to reclaim his treasure.549Please respect copyright.PENANAkr39L0WdQN
While Caspian regains his breath, he imagined a way to get it from her. 'Maybe I could spy her, and when she let down her guard, I could get it back from her and make a run for it' thought Caspian. It was not a solid plan but that's all he could think of.549Please respect copyright.PENANAXXMZPsuXfz
Caspian made his way to the main path, where the girl and that monster was. It was silent, no noise, just the sound of his footstep. He decided to follow the path, it could lead to her.
He passes over a bridge, the same white fence surrounded the bridge. The view was pleasant, not as gloomy and sinister as he thought this cursed place was. A small river passed through the bridge, bleu azure. Small orange, red and yellow fish enjoyed their home as light illuminated the area. Butterfly of many cold colours flew above the sky, alone even though there was so much of them. The side of the river was filled with big trees, it was not like a garden but more like a mystic forest.
Caspian continued his stroll until he heard some voices. To be specific, one. It was the girl with a summer hat. Caspian hastily hid behind a bush, spying on the girl.
She was talking to her rabbit, sitting on a dark victorian outdoor table. She was in the middle of an old stone terrace, far away from the victorian house. This place was brightened with the sunshine reaching despite the bushes and tall trees enveloping her. The same butterfly on the bridge flew freely, flapping their wings alone.
"Ughhh!!I can't believe I said that. At this point, making friends will be impossible for me..." the girl said bitterly while rubbing her temples. "What?--Why did I say that?-- I couldn't hold back... It's true! It looked just so delicious." said the girl twirling her hair around her finger. She talked to the bunny like his eyes said some words.
"Hey!! You there! shown yourself or I'll kill you!" yelled the girl in Caspian direction. What gave it away?! He did not even make a noise. He turned backward, back facing the bush and chose to stay put, hoping she would lose interest in him.
"You know I can see you..." said the girl, unimpressed by Caspian hiding spot. She crept closer to him with her arm behind her, without any sound of footstep until she was right behind him.
"Boo!" surprised the girl, her face tilting toward Caspian. Only a bush separated them. Caspian glasses tilted as he clenches at the grass.549Please respect copyright.PENANAjLkXN82Vsw
"Oh, hi..." softly spoke Caspian as he adjusted his glasses, lost in words.
"Hello, did you came to get your necklace back? It as a beautiful picture of a woman, is that your mom?" asked the girl. She came around the bush to have a face to face conversation. she sat right in front of Caspian, holding the necklace to observe the picture in the heart locket.
"It is, can you give it back please..." said coldly Caspian, knowing this girl only wanted a friend... just like him.
"Ahh.. not the butterfly type? Sorry, I must have scared you back then. My name is Ayesha, but my friend calls me Aya." said Ayesha, holding her hand ready to receive a handshake.
"Hello... Aya," responded Caspian, fidgeting while shaking timidly her hand, face looking to the side.
"Yay!! that means we are friends right, Ohhh I always wanted one," said excitingly Ayesha, she held with both her hands Caspain's hand and her eyes gleamed with excitement. Caspian, on the other hand, was surprised and confused.549Please respect copyright.PENANAmhAXqj8Q8S
"You see, I feed off human emotions, so it's difficult for me to have some friends. I get so hungry because you humans just give off so much emotion at once. Back there, Coco couldn't hold back, I mean my bunny and me." said Ayesha, her hand on her knees as she looked far from here.
"Anyway, I am sorry that I scared you, here you go..." said Ayesha while taking off the necklace and giving it back to Caspian.
"Um.. thank you. If you want I can buy you one like this as a sign of our friendship!" said Caspian, blushed face with his hand on his mouth.
"I would love to, I could give you one to so we match. Want to drink some honey tea?" asked Ayesha, dragging Caspian out of his shitty hiding spot.549Please respect copyright.PENANAf8r64OmFk0
"Sure, why not" smiled Caspian, happy to have made his first friend.
Butterflies flutter once again, but each with their pair...
