I want to take this moment to talk about something important and revisit the topic of suicide.
As some of you may know, Evangeline, founder of #NotAllAreHeroes, passed away at the end of January after a long battle with depression. This evening, a friend's mother also passed after leaving a suicide note for her family.
It is truly heartbreaking to know that, for some people, their pain becomes so great that they feel there is no other alternative.
There is something you need to know: You are NOT alone. You do not have to suffer alone. There are help lines, there are support groups, there are people like me who are trained as counselors and genuinely care. You don't have to walk a lonely road through your depression. There will always be someone willing to hold your hand through it, no matter how hopeless or dark it seems. I promise: it does get better, but only if you allow others to help you. They can't help if you refuse to let them.
So, please, if you feel hopeless and like suicide is the only option, reach out to someone first. Friend, family, help line, support group, counselor, stranger... someone will always care.747Please respect copyright.PENANAeUAWIgZnyv
