Standing before the box, Robbie eyed it carefully, running his hand along the wooden surface as he tried to think of what could possibly be in the box taller than himself. He had pictured something small, handheld or something the size of a laptop, if not a regular computer. Running his hand along the front plank, he pressed his ear to it and gave a small knock. When nothing responded, the pinkette thought that was foolish.
As his stomach growled, Robert pulled away. 'Totally forgot…' He trudged off to the kitchen but peeked around the corner as if the box would have disappeared in his absence. As he walked through the room, pulled out a knife and eyed it carefully. "I wonder…" he thought aloud as he walked back into the living room.
Upon arriving, the pink-haired teen noticed a seam along one side of the crate. Looking down at the blade, he poked it with his finger and winced a bit as he noticed a red dot grow on his fingertip. Placing the finger in his mouth for a moment, he pulled it out to inspect it. Seeing no blood, he focused on the matter at hand.
Wedging the knife into the seam, the teen wiggled it around, attempting to break any seal that may have bound it closed in the first place. Not hearing a pop or even a crack, Rob pulled the utensil out and tapped his foot.
"How am I supposed to get this open?" Setting the knife on the coffee table, Robert went upstairs and walked into his room. "Computer, can you open my email and look for the manual I had gotten a few days ago?"
The screen lit up and the pinkette stood by, looking out his window. The sun was still shining and instead of being relaxed and content, the teen felt worse. Even his curiosity had subsided. That was until he heard his computer give off a small bell to indicate it had found what was requested. With interest restored, Robert leaned towards his computer, his hand using the mouse to scroll down the page.
When your PDA arrives, it will be enclosed for privacy and security reasons.
We advise you not to try to break your way into said container due to the risk of harming said project.
To access your PDA, we ask that you locate the keypad along the surface of the container and enter the last four digits of the serial number located along the tag at the top of the box.
If you find the tag removed or the crate opened, we ask that you contact us.
Hazel eyes scanned the screen for a contact number but found none. The email didn't even have a valid address much to the pinkette's own annoyance from when he had attempted to ask them a question pertaining to the so-called PDA. But with his current question answered, Robbie walked downstairs and stared up at the box.
"I love being short!" the pinkette shouted sarcastically before covering his mouth.
He looked around slowly before remembering he was the only one in the house. Turning his attention back to the box, the teen guessed it to at least be between five foot nine and five foot eleven. Much taller than him and even taller than Kaito. And with that thought, Robert walking into the dining room, grabbed a chair and dragged it back into the other room. Propping it up against the container, the teen climbed up and searched the top lid for the alleged keypad. After a few moments of searching, he noticed a small computerized pad with a number pad.
Taking a peek at the tag, the pinkette reached over, leaning against the upper half and keyed in the last four numbers. Not hearing any sound of confirmation, he tried again. Nothing. He tried again. Nothing.
"Stupid code," he muttered, climbing down. He pulled the chair away and eyed the box before kicking it. "Why won't you open?" he asked angrily as he tended to his foot.
Once the pain ebbed away, the pinkette stared at the container before kicking it again for the sake of kicking something. He then heard a click and that's when he stumbled back. The front panel fell off from the locks being undone. What fell out either surprised or scared the hell out of the teen. 444Please respect copyright.PENANAI4kt4MmpLj
Perhaps both.
What fell out wasn't handheld. It wasn't small like a laptop. It wasn't even a monitor. What fell out was bigger than Robbie himself. 444Please respect copyright.PENANAI6ieiJBA5v
What fell out was a person and even after they hit the hardwood floor face first, they didn't move. Several things then ran through the teen's head. 444Please respect copyright.PENANAYrv9gfnzdu
Call the police. 444Please respect copyright.PENANAUfq3P9kAIc
How was he going to explain he got a dead body through the mail? Another thought was to call his mom. 444Please respect copyright.PENANAS8sN8MGkwu
Again, how was he going to explain to his workaholic mother that he got a dead body through the mail?
'I could call Kaito…' the hazel-eyed teen thought.
He then frowned and shook the last thought away. Kaito made it obvious that he wasn't interested in any form of communication.
Chewing on his bottom lip, Robert walked over slowly and knelt down beside the body. Maybe the person was unconscious. How he hoped that to be the case! He couldn't explain something like that to Skylar. The small redhead might've been scarred for the rest of his life.
"Um…h-hello?" the teen asked hesitantly as he shook the other's shoulder.
With no reaction, he tapped them on the arm but pulled his hand away. Their skin was almost ice cold. He then came to the conclusion that the other was dead. 444Please respect copyright.PENANA4KdN1UXNLI

The teen ran around the room, finding the cell and began to call the police though he hung up before he hit the last number. He then called his mom. The phone rang though it wound up going to voicemail. In the end, Robert guessed he couldn't bring himself to tell his mom there was a body in her living room. He couldn't even contact the people who sent the thing; some help they were.
Pulling out his cell, Robbie looked through his contacts and reluctantly sent a text to Kai.
I know you don't want to talk to me right now but I have a problem.
He stared back at the one on the floor and after a few moments, he looked quickly at his phone as it started to buzz. The violet-haired teen actually text him back though the reply wasn't really one the pinkette wanted.
Whatever the problem is, I know you can solve it. I'm not always going to around to help you, you know? Anyway, Mrs. Tarris says she expects you to know each conversion since you made it clear you didn't care about the lesson. Test Wednesday.
The purplette had actually brushed him off. 444Please respect copyright.PENANAE2lO1f6j2V
Kaito actually brushed him off but who else was Robbie going to turn to? Reading the message again, the pinkette took a deep breath and called. He expected it to go straight to voicemail despite the fact that school already was over for the day.
"Hello."
"Um…"
Robert hadn't expected the other to pick up.
"Hello."
"Um, Kaito…"
"What is it, Harukana?"
The other flinched at the tone before saying, "Can you help me?"
"With what?" Kaito asked as he walked down the street.
"I, uh, I don't really want to say it over the phone…" the pinkette said, trailing off as he looked at the person on his floor. "C-can you come over?" There was silence and for a moment, Robert thought that other had hung up. "Kai…to?"
"I'm not coming over," he finally replied. "I have homework to do."
"You could do it here."
"No," the purplette said. "Now, I'm going to get started on my Chem. homework."
"But-"
"Harukana, I gotta go."
"O-ok," Robbie said despondently before hanging up the phone.
Kaito slid his own phone into his pocket as he turned his head left to see the pinkette's two-story home. He knew the other was alone due to the empty driveway and Skylar wouldn't be home for at least another hour or so. The longer the purplette stood there, the more unsure he became. 444Please respect copyright.PENANAlTaTlNd7yT
Robbie did sound worried.
'Maybe for a moment…' he thought as he began to walk over.
His legs then stopped on their own accord as he stared at the white door. The longer he stood there, the more he rethought his situation. In the end, he shifted his bag to his other arm before walking off down the sidewalk.
With a yawn, the green-haired scientist sat up, rubbing one eye while the other had a look around the lab. Rising from his seat, Jay stretched his arms above his head before placing them in his pockets. Kay, the irritated brunette that was pestering him earlier, was nowhere to be seen; an odd notion in the other's mind.
"Kay~?"
No answer came from the vast room he was in. Walking over to the wall-to-wall computer screen, he saw that the algorithm he had been working on was yet to be completed. Scratching his head, Jay walked out through a side door and walked down a hallway. His blue eyes glanced through different windows.
One room showed an assembly line though nothing was being manufactured at the time. The fact was that Kay wasn't in there so he moved on to the next room: Chemistry Room 102. The brunette liked mixing things together but, like the other room, he was not present.
"Hey, where are you?" the greenette shouted as he passed the cybernetics room. "Kay?" No answer. "Hey, this isn't funny!"
Twisting the doorknob to said room, Jay walked in to take a look around. The two hadn't been the room for almost two months so he found it a bit odd that the door was even unlocked. Flipping on the lights, the greenette scientist walked around the room, picking up a cybernetic eye. He eyed it for a moment and put it down quickly, giving himself a small chill. He didn't favor picking up the pieces of tech that looked like that of a human. Despite what Kay had said, they still gave him chills.
"K-Kay?" He heard a groan from the far corner before something else clicked against the white tiled floor. "Kay, is that y-you?" the other stammered as he made his way across the large room. "If it is, a-answer me."
"Jay…" Said scientist went rigid as he watched a small white ball roll along the floor. When it stopped, he saw the golden iris staring back at him. "J-Jay, help me…"
"Kay, where are you?" the other shouted, his voice going almost an octave higher.
"O-over here."
Hurrying over but keeping distance between him and the creepy eye, the green-haired scientist turned a small corner to see the brunette face down, his arm bent at an awkward position.
"K-Kay?" Jay stammered as he knelt beside the other. He shook his shoulder lightly. "Hey, are y-you ok?"
"J-Jay…they're taking over…"
"What?"
He rolled his partner over to see a large metal box strapped to his chest, a red blinking light in the center. When Jay went to eradicate his friend of the oppressive device, Kay grabbed his hand. When blue eyes drifted towards the other's face, his face blanched at the sight of the gold cyber eye covering the other wise violet one the brunette owned.
"K-Kay…?" the panic-stricken scientist shouted.
"A-assimilate…" Kay murmured, his voice more robotic than human. "Jay…must assimilate…!"
"W-what?" the greenette stammered backing away as the brunette sat up with an outstretched arm.
Wires ran down the length of his sleeve and Jay was already on his feet before Kay attempted to grab him.
"Join us, Jay…" The brunette stood, walking forward steadily as the other backed away quickly. "Assimilate!"
A blue eye twitched as its owner backed off, stumbling a bit as he stepped on the golden cybernetic one. Once he regained his footing he turned and bolted to the door though he had to slip out of his lab coat; Kay had grabbed him by the back of it. Once the article of clothing was off, he slipped out of the door.
"I knew this would happen one day!" he shouted as he slammed the door shut, locking it with a small click.
He stared at the brunette through the window before backing away as the other pressed a wired hand against the reinforced glass. His violet eye narrowed as he hit the glass, making the other flinch before running. Once the other was out of sight, Kay let out a small laugh as he removed the voice changer from around his neck. He had hidden the item carefully under his shirt before he pulled away the wires on his arms and clothes. The last thing he took off was the golden eye. He stared down at it with his natural contrasting eyes and couldn't help but laugh again.
'That'll teach him to fall asleep.' Setting the items on the table, the brunette walked over to the door and twisted the knob. A frown soon appeared on his face as he pulled on the handle. 'You have got to be joking.' Walking back to the window, Kay began to beat his hand on the glass. "Jay!" he shouted as loud as he could. "Come open the door! I was only kidding!"
