TRANSLATION SHENANIGANS
AS EXPLAINED IN THIS POST, Karin is Sasuke’s “favorite,” according to Obito. I’m gonna find the official translation as soon as I can, but I wanted to explain some of the distortions IN THIS POST. There are a lot of things I disagree with in this post, but I’m not going to rebut all of them here. You can go read my meta for that - I’ve addressed many of these arguments before. I know a lot of SasuSaku shippers come to the SK tag and read what I and others have posted, so they’re welcome to respond to this particular rebuttal if they like, since this was all started over a post I made.
First - Sasuke calls Karin his favorite.
Here’s Sasuke’s quote:
あの女。。。連れてきて正解だった。。。役に立つ。わざわざサスケが選んだお気に入りなだけはある
Here’s the other Tumblr user’s mistranslation:
“That woman…bringing her along was the right choice. She’s useful. Sasuke specially chose her/ interested in her [abilities] after all.”
The problem here is twofold.

1) She completely ignores the お気に入り (oki ni iri) part (correctly translated as “favorite” or “pet”) and just says Sasuke's “interested” - which conveys a totally different emotion.

2) This thing he’s “interested” in is, according to this tumblr user, Karin’s [abilities]. There is no mention of Karin’s abilities in this original quote whatsoever. The subject of the sentence is “that woman”. Clearly, the meaning is that Karin, as the subject of the sentence, was specifically chose as Sasuke’s favorite with no mention of her abilities (except perhaps subtly, since Obito himself probably thinks her abilities are what make her useful).

Basically, this tumblr user is trying to ignore the part that comments on Sasuke’s feelings (the oki ni iri part) and reduce them to a superficial interest in Karin’s abilities, rather than her as a person. This is a mistranslation that obviously suits anyone opposed to SK, romantic or otherwise.
