I regretted my movements right after I injected the syringe. Something in the back of my mind told me to hold her for a bit longer. So after holding her for a moment and cherishing her hair which smelled like peaches and daffodils, I put her down on the bed. I pull the covers over her, and then walk over to Tom.
“You know that we can’t get too attached, right?” says Tom
“Yes I know that, Tom. I am not going to get attached, so don’t worry.” I say, not really sure of what he meant when he said it. I look at her and see a ball of hope. A bundle of joy. Keeping my feelings separate from her is going to be harder than I thought.
“Jacob?” says Tom.
“What Tom?
“You sure that you’re good? Cause you don’t look or sound like it?” Tom chuckles.
But before I could answer Sam shouts, “Jacob, Tom, you guys! Look at the car that is gaining on us. Do you recognize them? It's Hannibal and his gang!”
Soon enough we see a black car in the distance. It looked like a bee compared to everything else. However, the difference between the car and a bee, is that a bee doesn’t grow to be the size of a huge truck with skulls on the hood. Bees also don’t carry guns.
“Luckily we’re near a town, right Sam?” says Tom.
“Not necessarily, but we can make it if we speed up just a little? Can I please just show you guys the new software that I installed in this van?”
“NOO!” we all scream.
As the town comes into sight, we could also see Hannibal's smile grow from the passenger seat. Once we arrive in the town, we drive through a few neighborhoods and lose Hannibal. Now we need to find a cafe to plan the rest of our escape plan. We found a tiny bar named Wolf’s. As we pulled into the employee lot, we decided to lock all of the doors to make sure that Ellen couldn't get out if she woke up. Luckily, we wouldn’t have to worry about that problem because right as we walked in the bar, Hannibal and his crew pulled in next to the beat up van.
Right as Hannibal's crew pulled in, I walked back out to take a call. Once I realized that they were there, I went back to the bar and got my friends. At that point Hannibal, without knowing that Ellen was in the van, was already in the front seat. Some of his men jumped in the back and saw her, and shouted through to Hannibal that she was there. As Hannibal found out, he hot wired the van and drove away. Once everyone in the bar got out, only a few of Hannibal’s men were left with the car that they drove. We had to get through the people that kidnapped the kidnapped girl.
As the attackers charged, I nodded at the rest of the guys, and they knew what to do. I took the lead guy. As he was running to stab me with his sword, I took out a pistol, and shot him. And so did Jeff, Tom, and Sam. Before they knew it, the saying, “never bring a knife to a gunfight” became the reality for Hannibal’s best warriors. I got into the front seat of Hannibal’s truck, and we went off to find Ellen. We set off in the same direction, and soon they saw our old truck. But it wouldn’t be long before Ellen woke up and found herself sleeping with his crew watching.
