As the years went by their love blossomed into something beautiful. The villagers thought one day there was to be a union between the two. Many of them joked with the young lovers as it was apparent that they showed love between each-other, Alenia slowly let David in inch by inch as the years went by.
"Alenia did you wash up for dinner tonight?" Anya asked her.
"Yes sister, I have." She quietly mumbled.
Anya squinted at her. "Are you sure? Let me see those hands." Anya teased.
"I washed I promise!" She yelled slightly.
"Then you should have no problem showing me your dirty little hands!" She yelled playfully back.
Alenia shot up her hands so quickly that Anya couldn't see them. "See clean! no need to worry."
"Hey you little cheat I didn't even see them!" Anya laughed as she tackled Alenia playfully to the floor.
Alenia screamed as she laughed trying to hide her hands from her big sister. They struggled on the floor for a few minutes before Anya finally got her hands. To her surprise they were clean. "See I told you they were clean!" Alenia laughed.
Anya scowled at her. "Oh you little brat! Now help me get ready for dinner." Anya laughed looking at Aria.
"When do you think Papa will be home?" Alenia asked her as she peeled potatoes. Anya's wild expression that she always had. Suddenly changed to a gloomy look. "Papa may not come back, He has gone far to another village to find work." Anya looked down in disappointment as she lied. He had not gone looking for work, In fact, he had gone to be the general for the war. The war of Idor was a serious one. Anya was also a part of this, she was a warrior. Everyone knew that Alenia was to be the savior of Idor. Everyone except Alenia . Anya didn't know how to tell or train her. Although she desperately wanted to, but by the word of the Council she was forbidden to allow Alenia to know the truth. This was soon prove to be a terrible mistake.
"Anya what's wrong?" Alenia asked putting down the potatoes to comfort her sister.156Please respect copyright.PENANApjsKm8OlMj

'Before you came Papa wasn't always like this. Mother was around then, but she died. I wish you could have met her Alenia She was a wonderful woman. Or so I am told. I am not even Papa's real child. Claire took me in before she died. Papa raised me because it was all he had left of Claire." Anya softly said as she was angry at herself for the lies she kept spewing out.
Alenia hugged her sister. "Well I still think of you as my real sister, I hope that never changes."
Anya laughed. 'How could it when your such a little cutie." "Now finish doing those potatoes so we may eat, everything else is ready."
The next morning Alenia got up to several thumps downstairs. "Anya did you hear that?" She yelled out. No response came from Anya. The house was as silent as a mouse. "Anya!" Alenia shouted a little louder. Still no sound came from Anya. Flutters of panic began to increase in Alenia as she stumbled down the stairs. What she found shocked her. The table was overturned, everything was a mess, and the door lay wide open. She ran out into the yard. "ANYA!!!" She screamed but only her voice echoed through the forest. "No..No! NO!" Alenia screamed. "What happened to her..?" Alenia softly cried to the vision in her mind. The spirit of Idor was trying to tell her to awaken. But it only ended in confusion to her brain.
Alenia rolled around in the bed screaming Anya's name. She ran to her sister's aid. "Alenia wake up! I am right here, I am right here." Anya softly shushed her. Alenia awoke with a startle as she hugged her sister tightly. Dismissing it as a terrible nightmare, when it was in fact a warning from the Spirit of Idor itself. "Never leave me!" She cried.
"I wouldn't ever dream of doing so my sister" She said hugging her tight. "Now how about breakfast?" She said smiling.
"I have some baked blueberry muffins down stairs" She continued.
Alenia's eyes widened with a smile on her face. She hugged her sister tightly again. Rushing downstairs to stuff her face with the muffins. As she was eating the muffins she noticed out in the dusk a large figure with yellow spheres for eyes. Putting down the muffin her eyes never leaving focus.
"Hey Anya, I am going to go watch the sunset.." She promptly said as she rushed out. Curiosity struck her strongly as she followed the dark figure deep into the woods behind her cottage. "Hello..!, I know you're out here..." She said.
The dark figure watched from a bush behind her. "Alenia.." It spoke. She twirled around to see two large yellow spheres staring back at her.
"How do you know my name.." She asked it. The eyes blinked softly,
"That is not important, What is important is that you realize how important you are.." It spoke.
Alenia scowled as she reached out to pull the brush away from its face.
The creature bared its teeth, "Back off..!" He barked.
Alenia jumped pulling back as she was frightened.
"Alenia, My appearance isn't necessary, in time we shall see each other..for now, I must tell you that you are the savior of Idor, And I have come to mentor you.." It lied slightly.
Alenia raised her eyebrows, "But Anya said that I wasn't the savior, she was to come later, she said that It was a coincidence." She replied.
The creature growled as it began to spin lies over her mind. "Your sister is lying, You are the savior, the Council haven't yet decided on weather to train you for war," He continued telling half lies and half truths to her.
"Alenia!!!" Anya shouted from the cottage as she looked around.
Alenia perked up, "Coming Anya!!" She said as she looked down to see that the eyes had vanished.
"Anya wouldn't lie to me.." She said as she began to doubt her sister's trust.
Alenia was approached by a young tall handsome man. He had strong arms, sweat poured from his forehead glimmering in the sunlight. His eyes were set on the ever so radiant Alenia. "Hello Nia" He softly said. Alenia wouldn't let him in, although she desperately wanted to.
"What are you doing here David?" She asked him.
He smiled at her, and held out his hand, "Come walk with me?" He asked softly, his brown eyes shining with love for her, Smiling gently back at him she took his hand and they began to walk, "You know, I am not-" She paused looking up at him into his hazel eyes. Her heart skipped a beat. He stroked her cheek softly. "Not what? Interested in me? Nia, I know. You don't let anyone in. But you can trust me. I won't ever hurt you." He teased as he looked at her with passion in his flaming eyes.
Maribel followed them quietly and swiftly as she smiled, "Tonight in this pitch, is the night you die Alenia.." She said cackling as she followed them swiftly. She had given no hint over the years of what she was planning. The shadow followed closely behind Maribel as it grinned thinking to itself. "Two birds with one stone, I shall make it quick for Maribel. She has been useful.." It said as it leapt towards Maribel. Before she could utter a scream from her lips. The shadow bared its teeth into her neck. Blood gushed endlessly out as she whimpered softly. Her eyes glazing over as death began to take her. The shadow smiled and whispered into her ear as she was dying. "Never trust someone who is willing to kill..." It said as Maribel's eyes glazed over. She huffed out her final breath as her body lay still. The creature looked ahead with its golden moon's for eyes. Catching Alenia and David walking away. It smiled as it continued to follow them.
"How do I know that you won't hurt me?" She asked him. He was silent for a moment. "You are just going to have to trust me as you always have." He replied back to her, bringing her into a loving hug. Surprised by this action but soon melting into his strong bronze colored arms, This was such a happy moment, She never wanted it to end. For once in her life she felt as if her world was finally complete. They had been friends for many years, They shared everything together. David was patient with Alenia's doubt upon him. He knew that she loved him with much passion. He never needed to question why she doubted him. He knew that she was afraid to love or let anyone in. She always told him that she felt a bad presence around her whenever she thought to let anyone in. David would only continue to wait for her. Because he knew he already had her love, Just not on the spoken word.
The pitch began to drop in the sky. The village lights began to dim as the sun vanished. No one really knew how the light came and went.
The pitch was not guided by any light. There was no stars, no moon. Idor's moon failed many years ago, Only the sun remained. Alenia and David were still out in the pitch. Beside a fire to light their way. "Aren't you afraid of the night?" She asked him. He looked at her, "What is night?" he asked back curious,
"Night is what I called this darkness where I come from.." She said looking into his eyes. He was intrigued by her mysterious ways. David was patient with her, He sighed curling up beside her. Suddenly a rush from the darkness startled them. David got up, "Who's there!" He shouted his voice echoing back. Footsteps were moving swiftly towards them. He was frightened but he remained strong in the sight of Alenia. "Well let's go check it out," She said getting up. David stopped her, "No, The men scout, you know the rules of the village Alenia, It could be something dangerous. The women are supposed to be protected." He said bravely.
Alenia huffed, "You are not a soldier of the village, you are a cleaner. You don't even have a sword.." She said holding onto his hand. "Don't go.." She begged him. David smiled at her. "I would rather die to protect you, then to have you die. You are special." David replied to her as he kissed her lips softly. Before she could protest he vanished into the pitch. She stood there for a moment smiling grabbing a nearby stick. "There is no way in heaven, I am letting him go alone. He is such a fumbling fool." She said smiling.
Lighting the end of the torch, she made her way in the direction that he ran. "David!" She yelled through the forest. Her voice bounced off the trees all around her. "David come out! Let's just go back to the village! It's not even that far!" She yelled.
Suddenly there was an agonizing scream. Alenia was instantly filled with fear finding her legs were running into the direction of the scream. "David!..David!..David!.." She screamed. The screams continued as she tried to find her way through the darkness. She tripped over him and he grunted. "David..?" She asked.
He softly cried out, "Alenia, you shouldn't of come..I can't feel my legs.." He said. She shone the light on his hips to find his legs completely torn off. She screamed in horror, Shining the torch on his face. "No, Why does this always happen to me whenever I open up..I should of left you alone. You would of been okay right now." She cried. David shook his head, " I meant what I said..I would rather know you then not know you at all.." He said with a loving tone.
She sobbed, "But now you are going to die because of me.." She sobbed harder. "This is why I don't open my heart to anyone." She cried. He smiled at her, as his eyes rolled in the back of his head. David looked as if he was going to say something. But he was out of time and was gone.
She sobbed until the first light of dawn. The torch burned out hours ago. "Why did it have to be you David. You didn't deserve my curse." She cried out ripping the earth beneath her feet. The dark figure watched from the shadows with his large yellow eyes. He padded deep into the forest where he met a dark figure. "It is done, her heart has been broken." he said to the creature. The creature only sneered as a breath of mist came from its hood. "Good.." it only said before vanishing
Alenia was baffled at the death in front of her. She didn't know how to process the information. It seemed that no matter what she touched or did. It all resulted in death. David's death was unfortunate. Likely before his time as well, She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Tears streamed down her face as her heart broke in two. "I will never open my heart again." She said softly as she walked away to alert the town of David's death. As she was walking she came upon Maribel's mangled corpse. "What..? Maribel?.. " She asked herself as she began to sprint towards the village. She alerted the town of the death of David and Maribel. She lied saying she wasn't near them when they died. The town began to process the deaths of David and Maribel.
As morning approached, another day in the small town that Alenia had called home but this day was not like any other day. Her heart broke, they lowered both bodies into the ground. Not able to bear another look, she ventured back to her cottage.. This was all her fault. She believed a curse had been struck upon her. Venturing to grab a few items before she left to think by herself.
Alenia sighed as she relaxed on her favorite tree limb. Thinking of her ancient home. It had been many moons since she had found this land. Everyone called it Idor, but the name she had given was simply home. Her dark past was never revealed to another living soul, after David's death. How she traveled to this land would remain a secret to everyone. The sky was even different than what she once knew. Instead of one sun there were 4 as well as a large green sphere in the sky. At night there were no stars or even a moon, it was just darkness. The people here didn't even call it a night. The name for it was pitch. You were never to go out in pitch. At least without some sort of light to see your way. There were tall tales of creatures that roamed in the pitch.
Reports were scattered around as the years went by of a terrifying black beast. Who was as dark as the pitch. You could never see it coming, only its growl would warn you. But Alenia never believed these tales. She was sure they were made up to keep young youth to listen. It was dangerous work she got herself into. The creature with amber eyes was like a shadow, hovering in her mind, in her life, always present. Alenia was aware of him, she didn't know that it was the terrifying black beast that had murdered her love.
Taking in the sweet air around her. She let go of all her stress. Trying to forget about the handsome man. She would never tell a soul how she really felt about things. Not even Anya, she couldn't trust anybody. How would they know what a moon is, or stars. The thought almost crossed her mind that she wasn't even in her realm anymore. How she got here was a mystery to her. She had heard of portals as a young child. That they come when one needs them most. "Was it possible?" She thought to herself. Rolling her eyes and laughing at the thought. "No couldn't be, that magic doesn't even exist." She mumbled quietly.
Within the village panic rose, Alenia left before the attack came upon the village scattering them in all directions. Anya took up a sword as she gutted a few Elves that were attacking the cottage. Anya sprinted calling for Alenia. But she was too far away to hear her. Anya was frantic, and panicking as the elves poured in by the thousands. "Where are they coming from father! and why now, After David's Death?" She asked as they ran. Bernard was unsure "I am not sure my child, I know it has something to do with the tales of the black beast. The elves follow this creature like shadow. I am not certain as to why.." he said as he ushered Anya and several other villagers out of the village. The elves massacred everyone that was left behind. Taking their dead bodies with them as trophies. They cleared the town as ordered to by the black creature.
Hopping down from the tree she started to make her way back. Her feet scuffling across the dirt path. Golden blonde hair waved in the wind as she made her way back to the village. The black creature watched Alenia as she made her way back to the cottage. Vanishing into the woods it caught up with the elves. "Good work my soldiers, we have split them all apart. Now the real work begins.." he said as he smiled. Vanishing over the hills with the army of elves.
Alenia continued to walk through the pitch with only a small lantern to light her way back to the cottage. It was far too dark for her to see the pools of blood around her. She wasn't aware of what had happened.
A sudden growl came from the darkness of the forest. Alenia jolted her head towards the tangle of underbrush. A pair of sapphire glowing blue eyes could be seen from the shadows. In the heat of panic she sprinted towards the cottage. Just as pitch began to set in. .creatures she didn't know existed began to come out of the darkness. Panting as fear washed over her. Her breath loose and had escaped from her. The cottage was quiet. Alenia knew Anya was asleep so she thought. She went to sleep just as dusk set in. Everyone in Idor fell asleep just as dusk sent in. Idor was a very strange world, she had many sleepless nights before. Looking out the window, unable to see anything out of it. The blackness was almost too unbearable to deal with. Laying down on her hay filled cot. She snuggled into the warm soft hay-filled bed. Sleep came upon her heavily.
Dreaming of the large pair of blue eyes staring back at her softly. Why didn't it attack her? Why did it just stare at her? If Alenia wasn't so afraid she may have given into the curiosity of the eyes, And investigated. But being the way she is fear was a constant. Awaking the next morning to the cottage being silent. It didn't occur to her that Anya was missing. The vision she had didn't occur to her either.
