It was a dark and stormy night, when a young girl looked out her window from her room. The sound of thunder, the flash of lightning, and the millions of droplets crashing onto the ground was blurred due to the window's protection. A sigh escaped from the smile upon her lips, as she stared in peace at the scenery before her.
An idea popped up in her head, and slowly she looked out of her door to see if anyone was present. Luckily, nobody was there. With a giggle she turned off her lights and pushed her rug closer to her bed, which was right next to her door.
With a grin, she prepared herself. Woosh! The window was now open.
The rain landed forcefully inside her room, the sounds intensified, and her views were cleared. It was a beautiful storm. The young girl danced around the mini falls and laughed like an angel.
Cool droplets soaked into her short, dark hair, the remnants soaking into her blue nightgown. She took off her glasses and placed them onto her bed, and then continued her rain dance.
She skipped, she twirled, she hopped, and she leaped. All of her movements moving in tune with the thunder, lightning, and water. Her joyful laughs were blocked out by the storm's roars, and she loved it.
The way it sounded, the way it felt, the way it smelt like, and the way it looked. It was all so beautiful. How was she able to describe it? It was... natural. Nature. It was too overwhelming.
Her hands reached out into the dark clouds and she yelled for all to hear, "Let it pour!" her laughter mixed into the thunder's clap and the drums of rain, made the most enchanting melody.
The young girl fell on her knees, closed her eyes, and faced the window. With calm breaths she felt the water slide down her cheeks and the rain fall upon her face. The strong breeze entered her room and brushed across her soft skin.
It was as if she was in a whole other world. Her mind was filled with nothing but peace, and yet the storm made her feel a sort of thrill. Such wonders the storm held. Within its grasp was death among many, but within its heart it held life.693Please respect copyright.PENANAX6vPlCJYJm
"Heather!"
With a gasp, Heather turned to look behind her. There stood her mother with the most worried of expressions.
"Oh dear, what are you doing!? You could catch your death of cold with the window open like that, and at this late time?!" quickly, she banged the window shut, closing off all of the sounds that she loved, "Go prepare yourself a hot bath! I need to stay in here and clean up." It was only until her mother yelled at her that she realized that she was freezing cold, cold enough for her teeth to start chattering and her skin to have goosebumps.
After obeying her mother's orders, Heather sat on the tub. Her cheeks pink from the warmth and her eyes glazed with happiness.
She giggled, "I love storms."
