Chapter Four
May 8, 1860
Margot swished along the dim hallway.
She focused on the closed door.
She heard the sound of voices.
She went inside, and she saw three vampires.
'Lady Margot, please come towards us. I am Lord Abrahamson'.
She bowed, and walked near the warm fireplace.
'My hands are cold', Margot said.
'They're dead, my Lady. Death is the beginning', Lord Abrahamson said.
'I attended my daughter's marriage to Daniel. I...'.
'Daniel is my cousin. His bloodline is good. Her bloodline, as it is, is not tainted; is not tainted because the darkness is part of New York itself. America is not a Kingdom like England; America is involved in the Civil War now. I escaped London, and am an immigrant to the United States. My passport is from America, and I am a citizen. Of course, human wars are full of blood, and loss. My wife, Anne Abrahamson, is in the Drawing Room. Would you like to meet her, my Lady?'.
'Yes, I'd like to, my Lord', Margot said.
And he waved at a servant, who opened the doors, then she smiled, and glided towards the Drawing Room.
