The power of illusion, the time when we lose our self-ability to keep control over our senses, the inner strength, what we call willpower.
Once I faced it, delusions taking over my conscience. I never had much strength to surpass my inabilities, which are always coherent and allergic for my decisions- to choose the right way of serving my duties.
These days life feels like an ocean of death, scrambled fears building blocks concrete and rigid that stand high around my soul. I will be wrong to call it just an illusion, cause they affect me eternally; physically weakening my strength of self-control, pushing me closer towards destruction. They are real, surreal; grown from the rage and fury of humankind; my kind. They keep their eyes fixated on your movements, a single step wrong and you will be engulfed by such rage.

In this barren land of Tyros, I have been managing my system to pull up their strength and let me live until I bring back the lost glory of my clan. These sculpted, outrageous demons grown out of the cruel hunger of man-kind always make attempts to drag me under control and be what they are today- the peinasmèno thirìo(hungry beasts). Hungry to take over the last patent piece holding the symbol of royalty. As they get control over me they move outside our world to the Singletons – who are said to be a part of our history (a history of the world prevailing outside the world of Tyros)
This planet is endless with smithering beauty and phenomena unseen. These stories were always kept hidden from the clan and from the family of royalty, to keep us safe inside the Grammi Asfaleias (Line of Safety), made by our ancestors after they realized that some indignant power of the Badlands never let anyone out once they step on its rock.
Same as the rituals- the predominant norms, I was kept away from this ancient secret until I discovered it myself.
My yáyá taught me to be a good person rather than a good ruler. As, a ruler only thinks of his people and can even destroy the good to serve his nation. She showed me such paintings of our ancestors fighting in battles of survival. How they rose each kind of development for Tyros which sprouted its seeds and bloomed into roses, still engraved with faults to be healed. Among such paintings lied a wooden chest bounded in chains and thorns. I was the type to get fancied by weird and rare objects and was easily driven towards its scarce beauty. But, my yáyá stopped me before I could get hurt.
“Atakto, perìergo korìtsi. Ti tolmàs na ècheis!(You naughty, curious girl. What a dare you have!) Behind your yáyá sneaking out of business and without her permission attempting to touch the Kako sentoùki (Evil Chest)”
I pull back as my yáyá shot her warnings from behind my back and slid under her arm giving her a grinning smile.
“Sygnòmi(Sorry)”, I said with much regret.
She threw her arms around my shoulder and rubbed my head laughing haughtily as she rose her stick and pointed towards the painting situated right above the chest.
“You see this picture Aza? So dull and dirty, covered with dust. You won’t realize what it is about, neither did I. But there are several ways of clearing your doubts, which are now all closed by weapons and armors. Do you know what this means? This means the world doesn’t want us to know about this. But that doesn’t mean you don’t have the right for so.”
She chuckled and pulled me closer towards her chest and tighten her grip around my shoulder.
“O chrònos therapevei ta pànta(Time heals everything). When the time comes you will know everything, korìtsi(girl). All you need to do is be who you are and never change.”
Her words were enough complicated for my ungrown mind as I was unable to resolve hard words and their true meanings, with very little knowledge of life caused for attending classes only once or twice a week.
She kisses my forehead and went out of the room leaving me among the pictures of sanity, screaming their words at me. I felt a strike of pain in my chest as my heart sank down with the guilt to be not like my ancestors who served all their life harboring the future of our clan’s prosperity. I looked around and tighten my grip as I walked hurriedly out of the room.
The moment left a mark deep enough to be embedded as a scar.

I jump over the shrine engraved with the landmark of Tyros clan and land directly on my feet, taking a wider step running faster than the lead of my capability. The sand perforated beneath my feet as I search for oxygen which is almost empty to choke my lungs with the greatest pain I ever had. I try to run faster and fight like a warrior, but I am not so dreadful or trained to make such attempts or to have enough courage to fight back these daìmones(demons). I try to look back and from around the corner of my ear, I see them approaching closer with each lap. I get scared and with much of luck, I triple over a rock and fall directly on the ground.
I cannot look up.
I don’t have such strength.
I don’t want to die today, I cannot!
I sweat as I take heavy breathes to master some courage and sit upon my back, my legs immovable for the cut, blood all over the ground. I keep my eyes closed, eyelids pressed down, and wait for the daìmones to strike me dead and transform me into one such hideous monster. I wait for a second, then for a minute, my mind filled with awful thoughts of death, when the emptiness in my surrounding starts to feel dull and strange. I gather some courage and try to peek into the moment. As I open my eyes I see some black footings a few centimeters away. I move my eyes shifting my vision from the ground towards their face. I stagger and gasp being stunned by the scenery created in my front. I inspect up and down, side by side, from every way it is unbelievable. The daimones are turned into stones! All of these don’t make sense, but it’s worth it.
Finally, I shied in relief still feeling weak from all the struggles I faced for the whole day, and put my head down with fallen hair around my face making my vision blurry. I open my eyes and gaze down on the ground when I see a seedling all green and small, sprouting its leaves with all strength and bravery to remain alive even in this barren land with no hopes. I chuckle, suddenly feeling positive for my life, and bring it along to my house, the savior who saved my life.
