As he endures the harshness of Miss Grayson, the tyrannical caretaker, his curiosity leads him to the forbidden garden—a wild, overgrown realm harboring an ancient malevolence eager to ensnare him.

As Elias delves deeper, he becomes entangled in a web of manipulation spun by a restless spirit, promising freedom and revenge. The once-innocent whispers transform into a nightmarish reality, blurring the lines between innocence and corruption. "Whispers in the Ashes" is a chilling tale of longing and the perilous cost of listening to the wrong voices, where silence reveals more than it conceals.

Follows a college student struggling with a newfound drinking problem who has befriended a ghost in the local tavern bathroom.

I know I have to be grateful to my family for all that they've done for me. I have to be grateful. I have to be appreciative. But why, why do I constantly feel like something is wrong?

This is a short story that i made for school about a kid named Collen who learns to deal with the loss of someone close to him as he unravels a mystery that proves that nothing is ever as it seems.
