Worst of all, you can't even trust yourself. The unprecedented part of living in this zombie infested world? Remaining sane when the line distinguishing man and monster is blurred beyond interpretation.

Hopelessness was not something Fairy Tail mages were used to feeling, Levy thought. But there wasn't much else going through her mind as she sat chained in the dark cell. Without Gajeel and Lily there, she was feeling more alone than ever. If only she hadn't come across that damned book, than perhaps they'd still be back in Magnolia, remaining blissfully ignorant...Gajevy-centric.

Escaping the Doctor and Viper, I'm quickly learning, was the easy part. Out in the real world, there are no rules and no one to trust but yourself. I will write down my life story through this journal to the best of my ability on the slim chance that someone out there actually cares. This notebook, Madeline's final gift to me, is now my gift to you, dear reader. Companion to 'TLIL.'

Life as a slave for the world nobles wasn't easy, especially for a pretty girl like Beth. She'd always dreamed of freedom. But after a certain stubborn, red-headed pirate captain frees her from bondage, she's not altogether sure this was the saving grace she'd been praying for...

This poem was originally written for the story 'Memories,' where my OC Summer is kept prisoner in a lab for several years of her life. Cruel experiments are performed on her, causing her to be suicidal and psychotic. This is the product of her desire to end it all.
