Hello Writers. In a little over 2 weeks I start my first day of my Senior (Last) year of high school! And I'd like some stories from amazing writers like you to start my school year off with.

You don't even have to be a senior right now. You can right about

-What you think it's gonna be like

-What you want it to be like

-What is was like

-or anything you want really including senior activities like Prom, senior trip, graduation, ect.

Fiction, Nonfiction, poem, story, the type doesn't matter at all. It's completely up to you as long as it takes place during senior year of high school.

This contest is a a little different because I would like the winner(s) to collaborate on a Harry Potter fan fiction I've been working on. I have ideas but I would love a different perspective. If you are interested please enter this contest. All you have to do is write a fanfic about Harry Potter and the only difference is Harry was raised by Snape and not the Dursleys. You will have to write about whatever chain of events you think that may change/ cause.

Rules/ Requirements:

Snape is his main guardian just like the Dursleys are in the original.

Please only use characters from the series, No OC characters for this fic.

You can do it based off of any scene/ event/ moment from any HP book or movie

That said I don't care if you use the book or the movie.

You can continue or re-write where I left off if you read what I have so far and want to use that as a basis. That's totally fine.

If you just want to do a HP fanfic contest and not collab with me you are more than welcome to, just please let me know before the contest is over.

My 16th birthday is the day this contest ends. For my birthday I would like to read something fantastic. I don't care what it's about, but no poems, please. I feel like reading a well-written piece of work will really make my big day even more special. Genre, length, characters, etc. don't matter, just make it creative and fun!

Required:

An adventure or event of some sort (doesn't matter what it is)

Excitement/adventure, romance, or comedy (or all three!)

A happy birthday message somewhere in the story.

For example, if your name is WolfPerson then your story should have to do with wolves. If your name is InvisiblePaint then you should write about invisibility or paint or invisible paint! New Years is right around the corner. Usually, there is a countdown, champagne, laughs, hugs, kisses, the dropping of a ball (or something else depending on where you live}, fireworks, and all that other good stuff. Well, what if New Years was different this year? Some ideas are:

The World Ending (or people believing it will & freaking out)

The year being strange - going back in time or forward, skipping 2018

Being stuck in 2017/ 2017 starting over again

Deja Vu- after the countdown the events of the New Years festivities keeps repeating

Or whatever else you can come up with! Put a spin on New Years!

First it was 1, 2, 3, now it’s A, B, C.

You guys are going to be writing a story 1 sentence at a time, but each sentence must start with the next letter of the alphabet. Entry 1 is A, entry 2 is B, and so on.

Rules are pretty much the same:

-You can’t enter twice in a row

-Your sentence must flow at least slightly from the last. If it doesn’t, I will revert the issue.

-Keep it PG-13, no cursing or sexual stuff

I want you to write a story about a royal figure.

A queen, a king, a princess, a prince, etc, whatever type of royal figure you want.

Sounds simple enough right?

No.

Your story has to involve a plot twist. It could be about a forced marriage, a love triangle, a corruption in the monarchy, whatever you want it to be as long as it's an unexpected twist.

Rules:

~No graphic sexual talk or actions.

~Minimal cursing.

~Must include the theme of royalty (romance too is suggested but not required).

~One entry per contestant.

~No world limit.

~Use trigger warnings as needed.

~Must include an unexpected twist.

Write your own version of the classic story, Cinderella. Make any twists you like, just make sure it's as close to the original as possible!

Just one specification: It must include some sort of birthday theme or message, one or the other.

It's time once more for the  Penana Character Talent Show! Bring your best characters and put them to the test! Displays of grandeur and extreme skill are welcome, but beware, the readers are your judge! Appeal to their curiosity and you may just take home first place, but too much personality and you might just lose favor. The stage is yours...

In this contest, authors will write up an entry as to what your character's talent would be, should they ever enter a talent show! Get creative, and aim to please the audience! Here are the rules:

Authors:

-You may go into as much detail as you'd like about your character's act or talent, however, you may not describe the audience's reaction, as that will be the readers' jobs!

-Try to keep entries short enough to be no more than a 5 minute read.

-You may also react to other characters' entries, however, negative commentary and insults are not welcome! The entire point of this contest is to have fun, and salty people aren't fun. Encourage others to join and perform! :)

-Don't be afraid to use this as a way to promote your stories! You can shamelessly add a plug at the end of your entry to let readers know where they can find the rest of your character's adventure on your profile. :)

-Your comments and likes will be the figurative reaction of the audience to the author's act. You are encouraged to display your enthusiasm through the comment section of each entry, and be sure to let the author know exactly how their act made the audience react!
