When the heroes got home, they dashed straight for Storm_wolf's room and ran to his desk where his laptop was set up. "Wow, you guys sure are rushing." Said Storm_wolf. "Well... Yeah! I want to know what the heck is on this hard drive!" Replied Toxicity.
"I'm actually kind of curious as to what's on here." Stated Void_wolf. "Well... Do you think there may be stuff that might need to be de-cyphered? Because you would think most bad guys would code their plans?" Replied Storm_wolf.
"I suppose so... But there are hundreds if not thousands of ciphers. So I doubt I can get this thing cracked soon..." Muttered the clone. "Speaking of which, how did you learn how to hack stuff?" Inquired Toxicity. The clone replied with, "Despite his betrayal, Dr. Omni was able to teach me some stuff." Then, his eyes lit up in surprise. "Actually. We're in luck... He used a simple code. Perfect." The others looked on. And what they saw was weird, very weird.
There were files all about this weird silvery substance. "What is that? Paint? Molten silver?" Inquired the hero. "No... It says it's called Rift Platinum... It's a naturally underground chemical compound of Pt, Sulfur, and Fe." Suddenly he was interrupted by Isaac. "Could you... Maybe explain more simply? I'm a little confused."
Roman shot him a dirty look. "Sorry, sorry, I zoned out." Replied the hero, nervously blushing. "Okay... So... Basically. This stuff is a combination of other elements... And... What the..?" Roman tried to finish, but he noticed something else. "It... Has traces of... Stardust..." He muttered.
"Why would it have stardust if it's found underground?" Inquired Lilly. "I don't know... That's what is weird about this ****." Stated the clone. "Language!" Exclaimed the hero impulsively. "Oh, brother." Responded Roman. "Huh... Looks like this stuff can... Transmit energy to people." He said.
"So... People can get powers because of this stuff?" Inquired Lilly. "Wait... How do you not know? Didn't your boss not tell you?" Questioned the hero. "He didn't... He... He keeps a lot of secrets... Ironic... Since he is my dad..." Muttered the girl in response.
"He's your dad?!" Exclaimed the hero. He was about to say "Why didn't you tell me?" When he realized that because of DeadRift's whole killing people thing, he realized Lilly might be embarrassed about that. If only Isaac knew that wasn't the whole truth.
But, as they stood there in silence they heard footsteps. It was Isaac's mom. "Crud, hide!" Exclaimed Storm_wolf in a hurried whisper. As Roman and Lilly dashed into the closet, the hero's mom walked in, not suspecting a thing (by some miracle).
"Hey, mom! Is something the matter?" Inquired the hero nervously. His mom gave him a look. This is the exact look that every mom gives their child whenever she suspects something is fishy. "Nothing... I need you to get ready because we're gonna play laser tag today. We'll leave in about 30 minutes."
The hero nodded his head. "Okay, will do. I'll also make sure to help Eden get ready." His mom left but not before saying, "You'd better not be sneaking something you aren't supposed to." The hero nodded his head before closing his door.
The other two came out of the closet surprisingly calmly. "Well. That was a close call!" Exclaimed Roman. "You know. For an edgy guy, you are pretty good at making last-minute escapes." Said Lilly. "Well. Thank you. For once, you aren't being a little *****." "Shh! Holy crumbs, be careful! If my mom hears, she'll think it's me and be furious!" Exclaimed Isaac.
Void groaned angrily but didn't say anything else. "Look. I'm about to go play Lazer Tag with a few of my friends. So I need you to be on the watch for any supervillain crud. I'll have a duffle bag with me to take my supersuit without my mom noticing." Said the hero.
"Okay. Well... How do we contact you? You only have one phone." Questioned the clone. "Hang on... Give me a second..." Said the hero as he began to dig under his bed, looking for something. "Bingo! I found it!" Exclaimed the hero. "Found what?" Inquired the clone.
"My old tablet! This thing can contact people." The tablet was a small one, with a large black case around it. It had several slightly faded stickers on it. "That thing can contact people?" The clone laughed sarcastically, "I'll believe that when I see it!" He exclaimed.
"Well, regardless of how old this thing is... It will work. If any incidents may require my help... Call me. And if I need you two... I'll contact you." Stated Isaac. "Sounds fine by me. Just... Don't do something stupid." Replied the clone. Lilly nodded in response and winked flirtatiously at Storm_wolf (Who blushed and rolled his eyes).
As the hero left, he grabbed the duffle bag he stuffed his suit into and a pack of mint gum. "See you soon." He said.
As the hero's mom pulled into the parking lot of the Lazer-Tag arena... Isaac felt excited and was roaring to play. When he went inside, he had to wait for some other people to finish playing their match, so he decided to get an arcade card to play some games.
He decided to play the racing game Cruis'n Blast but as he did, he thought he saw something in the distance. It was smoke and not the clear kind you would see at a Bonfire, it was black, as black as coal. "Oh, crud." Thought the hero, "Well... Guess my life is like most superheroes... I can't catch a dang break!"
But, despite his annoyance... The hero texted his mom, saying, "Hey, I'm heading to the bathroom. I'll let you know when I'm done." His mom replied with, "Okay. Just... Your laser tag game is in an hour. So, don't be too long in the bathroom." The hero texted back, "Okay. Got it!"
Once the hero got into the bathroom. He made sure no one was around and then got into a stall. When he exited, he came out with his costume. "Alright." He thought, "Let's get to the bank." But as he tried teleporting to the bank, it didn't work.
"Huh?" He questioned. "Why can't I teleport? Is it-" He realized something. "Oh crud, I can teleport places I've been before!" He groaned angrily. "Well, that sucks. Guess I have to super speed my way there. But, it's more fun that way, so I guess it's not too bad."
So he snuck his way out of the Laser-Tag arena to avoid being bothered by fans (Because when you're famous, you never can be too careful). And he made his way towards the bank. When he came there, it was worse than he could've imagined.
There were overturned police cars and parts of the bank were on fire! The windows were smashed, and the bank door appeared to have been kicked down. "What in the sweet and sour heck happened here?" Muttered the hero.
Then, he noticed someone. It appeared to be a woman in her early 20s. But her attire was not normal. It wasn't revealing, however, it wasn't something a civilian would wear. The outfit consisted of an orange and black hazmat suit, with fire patterns. And the woman had a gas mask with some of her hair hanging out behind it in a ponytail.
And even worse, this woman appeared to have something glowing in her hand. Then the hero's eyes widened when the woman turned towards him. "Well, well, well. Right on cue." As she said this, the glow from her body started to glow brighter. And the hero realized in horror, that the glow was fire. The woman had fire in her hands!
"Wh-What the crud?!" Exclaimed the hero. "How did you... Do all this damage? And to a bank! Normally most criminals rob banks and leave a small mess. But you... YOU'VE BURNED THIS BUILDING ALMOST TO THE GROUND-" Before the hero finished, he got hit in the face! This then caused him to fall backward in a near-comical manner.
"Ow... Dang. I know a lot of women can hit hard. But HOT DARN!" He chuckled at his pun, but to be truthful, he was in pain. "Tsk, tsk hero. You really shouldn't play with fire." The villain giggled evilly, "You'll get burnt worse than a Denny's burger."
The hero smirked, "Huh... I didn't think you could agree with me about how terrible that place is..." He rambled, "But, enough talk. Just, turn yourself in for Arson and any other charges, and we won't have a problem."
The woman, however, had no intention of doing so. "You want me to turn myself in? HA! I'd rather barbeque myself." She exclaimed. "Wow. The things people do to avoid justice. Welp, I warned you Miss... Who now? Dang, most villains have a name..."
The villain only charged up a fire in her hands. "Kerosine Girl? HotShot?" Pondered the hero, not noticing the imminent danger. "The name is PyroTech!" Shouted the villain, as she began to attack the hero. However, by some miracle, the hero dodged the fire.
"Holy crud! Wow, you take the phrase "As hot as fire" literally!" Exclaimed the hero. The villain chuckled manically as she began throwing attacks. "Well... Maybe I do... But at least I don't make terrible puns and are friends with a traitorous b****!" The hero's eyes widened in anger. "Excuse me?!" He exclaimed.
"Aw... Am I flaming up your temper?" Replied PyroTech sarcastically, but before she could say anything else, something hit her, hard. The hero looked and smirked. "Looks like my plan worked." "Huh?" Questioned the villain.
"This is why you should work on your aim. If you had hit me, I wouldn't have been able to text my allies and get back up. That's the problem with you villains, you don't know the importance of teamwork!" As the hero said teamwork, he, Lilly, and Roman all punched her at once from different angles. This disoriented and then knocked the villain back into a wall.
"D*** you..." Muttered the villainess. "Fine... You may be good at fighting... But While you, Storm_wolf may have your team with you... But I have an allegiance... But more importantly... I have a backup plan!" She exclaimed. Suddenly, she threw a blaze of fire towards a gas tanker! The hero tried to stop the attack, but it was too late.
There was a huge explosion and fire all around. Isaac was knocked out. When he came to, the hero was horrified; even worse, he had lost sight of both Void_wolf and Toxicity. "Guys!? Where are you?!" Exclaimed the hero. "Over here!" He heard a voice. It was Lilly! The hero ran towards the voice and found her and Void tending to some civilians.
"You guys alright?" Inquired the hero. "Yeah. Everyone is safe." Replied the girl, "Also, you may want to fix your suit, it's a bit crisp." She chuckled. Then, everyone had a good laugh. "Yeah... I guess so... At least everyone is safe." Said Roman with a smile on his face.
"Wow. I didn't expect you to be happy." Remarked Isaac. The clone realized what happened and scoffed, "Well. Don't expect it to last long. I guess you... Affected me."
"Well, whatever the case... PyroTech is still out there." Said the girl. "About that. Is there a name for that little gang you used to be in? Or is the group just a collection of villains, lackeys, and r*****s?" Questioned the clone. "And don't say anything about my swearing Storm, I don't want to hear it!"
The hero nodded reluctantly. "Well... So here's the thing... So the group... Has a name... They call themselves... The Rift Society." Said Lilly.
