The Grandfather quickly scrambles for a way to cancel the Spark hole, but is unfortunately not able to sap out enough Ether energy in time.
"Guess you're going with us."
"Where are we?" Kataya asks.
"My universe."
"Every Ether and every Ethered, or another word for Ethered are spirits, have the ability to do spark holes. Spark holes teleport you throughout universes to a universe where you are a god. However, whenever you are teleported through a spark hole, you are not a god, but the version of you in this world that is a god sets up the world that you stand on to the perfect one for the other worlds version of you."
"Grandfather, I am still very confused." Kataya says.
"I know you are. Another way to explain it is you're teleported to a world where your alternate version makes you the ideal territory to fight in for your strengths and abilities."
"That makes... a bit more sense. But it isn't any less shocking."
"Grandson, I have no clue why the spark hole took you too. You don't have an extra soul. But what I do know, is that you're in my territory, so I won't let you be hurt." In a moment's notice, the old man with blinding speed, blazes towards the spirit.
"What you may notice, is that every rock on this planet is constantly in motion, vibrating quickly. That is that humming sensation you're feeling. So since every rock on this planet is in motion..."
"Spark: Injection."
"Your velocity is increased, since EVERYTHING around you is in motion. Meaning your velocity is, at the least, multiplied by 3." As he speaks, the Spirit is sent flying into a rock wall, with the only patch of non-vibrating rock being around the 50-meter radius that the old man was on.
"You've gotta be kidding me." The spirit says.
"But if you think that is all that this planet does for me, you are most definitely mistaken." The old man says.
"Son, watch out."
"Soul Bond: Multi-directional."
SHINK. SHINK. SHINK.
That noise repeated until it visually looked like the spirit had been turned into a porcupine.
"Those are all nails, that using nutrients from the ground are grown and stabbed directly into you at all directions, so that I can simply do this."
"Spark: Injection."
From every single direction, the spirit experiences the velocity of a missile.
"And that right there, is why I told you to run son." The old man says as he starts to chuckle.
"That tickled old man." He says, seemingly unharmed. "You hit me so hard that it felt like I had a physical form."
"What does he mean by that?" Kataya asks.
"Spirits don't have a physical form. The only people on the planet that can see and hit them are people like me. The only time a regular human can hit or be hit by a spirit is if their life is in danger. So a simple way to phrase it, is if you can see a Spirit, they are given a physical form for you and no other regular human."
"The old man has some experience I see." The spirit says.
"You're right." The old man replies. Before the old man can react, the spirit is already in front of him, with a punch geared up.
"Damn-"
Like a rocket, the old man is sent flying into the sky before a spherical force field stops him from going into outer space. He places his feet against the force field and launches himself at the spirit, finger first.
"Did I forget to mention every single world in a spark hole is surrounded with a force field so that you don't attempt to escape into the rest of the universe!?" He yells as he goes flying towards
"No you didn't grandpa."
As he lands on the spirit, with his nail lodged into the spirits bicep, he says,
"Spark: Release Gathered Velocity."
Rocks go flying past the spirit as its body is sent into the ground, at speeds faster than a missile, hitting all the still vibrating rocks.
"That ability is one where when I encounter a spirit and use a move called 'Spark: Combine,' I take its current velocity and keep it contained, until I use the move I just did to release it all at once at insane speeds."
Kataya starts feeling an insane pressure in his chest as he looks up towards his grandfather, who is, along with the spirit, also holding their chest.
"We're alright. This happens when a Spark hole is about to end and send us back home."
All they see is a black darkness for a few minutes before they start to fall out of the spark hole and can see that they are plummeting towards the ground.
"Wait, Kataya! I can't do anything to help you, I can only stop myself!"
"What?!" Kataya looks up to see that both his grandfather and the spirit are suspended in air while he continues to fall.
"I'll try and come get you!" He yells.
He attempts to go downwards to reach his grandson that's plummeting towards earth, but is then grabbed by the ankles by the spirit.
"You're not going anywhere." The spirit says as he throws the old man slightly in the air and punches him in the gut, sending him flying. He then, in a blur, dashes towards where he sent Kataya's grandpa.
"I'm dead." Kataya says, as he looks towards the ground.
"Wait, but. What did Grandpa say?" "I have no clue why the spark hole took you too"
"There has to be something that caused me to go with them. Maybe I do have two souls. There's something. And if I do, how do I channel it?"
As Kataya starts plummeting towards earth he does anything he can to stop his fall. He imagines he has two souls, he imagines he has magic powers, he tries to channel his soul, but nothing seems to be working. He is inches away from plummeting towards the ground.
"There's gotta be something, something!"
"Maybe, come on, MAYBE, IMAGINE I HAVE MULTIPLE SOULS? MAY-"
Kataya stops speaking.
He stops moving.
He may be breathing.
But he is grasping on the little bit of life he has after he crashes into the ground.
The old man, after the punch from the spirit, hears a loud smack! before he fully acknowledges that he has just smashed his back into a building. He starts screaming in pain from the glass shards of the window, as he starts plummeting towards the ground.
"Old man, you're not in your world now, you're in the world that contains every universe's gods now. This world isn't designed after you."
"...Spark...Velocity Sphere.."
The old man created a sphere next to the building that in an instant, created a gaping hole in the building, only leaving about 7 humans that started falling as everything that was there previously disappeared.
"That.. ability doesn't kill. It destroys every object in its ball that isn't alive by having the atoms within the objects increase in speed so quickly that they all disintegrate. If humans die from the fall, that's too bad. Of course, humans will die that are in the building collapsing on you."
The spirit turns his head at the exact moment before impact. As he stares up, part of the wall falls off and smashes into his leg, and then a few seconds later, the rest of the building hits him, causing the rest of his body to follow his leg.
After the impact, he starts falling and starts to dive directly towards the still falling old man, with his arms extended.
"You wanna play old man? Let's play then."
The spirit continues, "Spark: World Manipulator"
If you were to be stabbed, it would not be from a giant spike, cutting through the road below, suspended, no longer falling.
"You're.. injured."
"So are you old man. Just worse. Your stomach is on a spike that just came from the ground, you're much worse off."
"If this is where I die, I might as well give up on living and contribute."
When it comes to ethers and ethered, the one special aspect of them is that the less larger or important limbs they have, the stronger they become. Some of these can be the eyes, full arms, full legs.
"Speaking of injured old man..."
"Spark: World Manipulator."
The spike came from the ground this time, directed directly at the old man's head. So as quickly as he can, he moved his head and instead put his shoulder in the path of the spike.
"What?" The spirit says, as he watches the man's arm fly off his body.
The old man points his one remaining hand up towards the spirit.
"Soul Bond: Materialization Of Velocity."
His arm disappears into thin air, and the spike in the middle disappears, with a thin line going straight through the now gaping hole, and directly towards the spirit.
"I can... Turn anything into velocity. Just at the expense of an important body part. Why do you... I think I was... originally missing my eye... So thanks for the giant spike..."
Just imagine if you will. A human being, with a bullet sized whole in the middle of their forehead. Now, imagine a thin line flowing through that hole and out the back of their head.
"Now, you're... joining me."
Both bodies, now plummeting towards the ground, the spirit dying from the physical embodiment of velocity, that immediately destroyed its brain the moment it entered the body. the moment it entered the body, it dispersed throughout the rest of the body, destroying every part of the body that was keeping it alive.
The old man, still alive, but plummeting towards the ground and bleeding out.
"Sorry Grandson. I don't even know... if you survived the fall. But I won't survive this one... If you truly do have another soul... somehow... don't turn out like me..."
"Be a normal human in society like you were before you showed up to my house today."
"Just be happy with the fact that I won."
But before the grandfather falls, he sees to his right a blinding light, and then feels his body move at an insane speed to the right. He was no longer falling. He was being held.
"Good job. Grandfather."
"My Grandson-"
"I heard you earlier. I learned everything about myself. I have chosen to become like you."
Kataya says as he slides slowly down the windows of the building.
By the time they eventually landed, there were cops and civilians surrounding the spikes that had cut through the ground that had now disappeared. Everyone had been staring at Kataya and his grandfather as they had been sliding down the wall of the building.
Kataya gently laid his grandfather on the ground and put his arms over his chest.
With guns drawn the cops ask,
"Who are you?"
complete and utter silence, the cops don't get an answer.
"Who are-" They stop for a moment in shock as they look at his face, and look down at the old man. The two arms were covering the gaping hole in his chest.
They didn't speak for a moment.
Then Kataya finally spoke.
"He's.. He's dead."
