As Oscar was returning to his house, he sensed someone was following him. Oscar turned around and no one was there. He kept glancing over his shoulder every few minutes.
He suddenly stopped dead in his tracks. He could feel someone breathing behind his neck. Again, he turned around to find that no one was there. He decided to run to his abode instead. He jogged down the pavement and finally reached the front door of his house.
He rang the doorbell. After a few moments, Aunt Leona answered it.
"Oscar, where were you all this time? she asked studying the startled expression on her nephew's face.
"The graveyard." Oscar muttered and walked past her.
"The graveyard?"
Aunt Leona closed the door.
Oscar rubbed his hands together. He entered the living room to find two familiar figures sitting next to each other on a two-seater sofa.
"Your friends are here, Oscar." Aunt Leona told him.
Abdullah and his sister stared blankly at Oscar.
I'm not letting him off so easy this time, Oscar thought.
Abdullah got up from his seat to greet his friend. Oscar furiously held Abdullah by his jacket collar.
"Came to ask for forgiveness!?" Oscar shrieked shaking him so hard that his spectacles fell off.
"I'm sorry for what I said yesterday." Abdullah said trying to get Oscar off of him.
"You're not going to apologize for breaking into my room?"
"When did that happen?"
"Don't lie to me!" Oscar yelled.
He shook Abdullah even harder. Amna tried to pull Oscar away from her brother. "Stop it you two!"
"Calm down!" Aunt Leona assisted the teenage girl.
"Do you have proof?" Abdullah asked his best friend.
"Yeah. You know that Aunt Leona always forgets to lock the door at night." Oscar replied
"Is that all?"
"And I found this in my bedroom."
Oscar let go of Abdullah and took out the red shiny stone out his pocket.
He showed it to Abdullah and waved it around across his face.
"Then explain this." Abdullah took out something from his jacket pocket.
Oscar's eyes opened in shock. Abdullah was holding a similar ruby in his palm.
"You guys are so immature." Amna said rolling her eyes.
Oscar didn't seem to hear her as he was lost in thought.
"Then if this isn't your stone. Whose is it?" Oscar asked.
Both of their eyes lit up in realization.
