Donald Trump is winning the U.S. presidential elections. How?
Realistically, the guy is seventy eight years old. Him who said that Joe Biden was old, how can he talk? I'm sorry, but the guy is older than my grandpa. Maybe he should consider retiring for his health.
But apart from his age, he is worthy of a documentary at this point. Not only does he do everything for his own interest, but he is also racist, misogynistic and incredibly homophobic.
First off, he is against abortion. I know he changed his policy and says that states should choose, but that's basically being against it, because I think he knows perfectly well that states like Texas will vote against abortion. How can he have a say on this? Is he a woman? No. Then how can he place a ban on our bodies?
Secondly, he is against immigration. I think that has been said enough, and whilst I am not the biggest fan of illegal immigration, many people are trying to escape from poverty. The least he could do would be to create a policy where the U.S. keeps migrants who have a particular competence in one field.
Thirdly, have I talked about how misogynistic he is? He is the epitome of a white supremacist in the 21st century, and yet so many women are voting for him. My dad suggested that it was a form of Stockholm Syndrome, and I agree. Although Stockholm Syndrome was originally used to describe a woman falling in love with her kidnapper, I think it can apply to Trump. The guy is obviously against gender equality, and yet women are voting for him, blinded by his lies. How? It's a form of Stockholm Syndrome. They will be victims of his policies, and yet choose to vote for him. Really, I don't understand.
Fourthly, he is obviously motivated only by himself. He is the living embodiment of selfishness. Why? He has changed parties repeatedly. Republican, to Democrat, back to Republican, to Independent and then finally back to Republican. This proves that he is only motivated by the political party that supports him and his selfish decisions. Once the Republicans had had enough, he went knocking on the Democrats' door, only to find that they didn't like him either. So he went to the Independent party, but they obviously didn't like him, so he came back to the Republican party when it was at his first. And please, let's be honest. There is no Republican party anymore. It's solely Trump's party.
I mean, he lost the 2021 elections, and usually a candidate that loses an election does not represent their party again. It's a common rule in politics. But the Republican party is in such a bad state that he is the only candidate that can realistically win a presidential election. Let's be real here, most people are voting for Trump and his anti-system ideas. Not for the Republicans.
It's not just Trump's fault, though. The Democrat party has fumbled things from start to end. As soon as Biden was elected in 2021, they should have started to prepare another younger candidate for the next election. They should have said that Biden was only a transition president. But instead, when clearly the guy was going senile, he tried to run again for president.
I think that badly damaged the image of the Democrat party. Showing that an 82 year old who is slowly losing his marbles is the only possible candidate for one of the two major parties in the U.S. badly damaged their reputation. Kamala Harris is a great candidate, don't get me wrong, but people barely talked about her after the 2021 election. She was in the shadows when she really shouldn't have. If the party genuinely wanted her as a candidate, they would have prepared her and their voters to campaign for this year's election. Instead, they waited until the whole world knew that Joe Biden was going senile to quickly look for candidates amongst the Democrats. Of course, Harris was the best choice because she was and still is vice-president, but it was obvious that she was quickly thrust into the role of candidate.
Honestly, it's a bad loss for the Democrats and a crazy win for Trump. There are still some states yet to be counted, but he is announced to be the expected winner. Even the polls don't argue on this run, and they usually do.
The people who have voted for Trump have proved to have a very poor critical judgement, and this will change world politics. The U.S. are the key superpower with China, and I fear that Trump winning this election will make some of their key allies look at the U.S. like they are crazy. I know for a fact that France is not particularly happy with Trump and his policies of removing soldiers from Ukraine, potentially helping Putin to win the war.
And anyways, if he wins, he will affect both of the biggest wars going on. Ukraine and Russia, and Palestine and Israel.
He will remove troops from Ukraine. This will potentially have a positive impact on Russia, and will help Putin win the war. This also means that Ukrainian refugees will stay in various European countries. France, for example, has a lot of Ukrainian refugees, and many people are starting to get angry. There are too many refugees, and countries cannot keep them for long. If Russia wins, Ukrainians will not only be deprived of their free country, but will also have to stay in Europe, turning popular opinion against them as people are tired of having to help refugees as well as themselves.
He calls for an agreement to be settled between Israel and Palestine. Now, this one is more uncertain, but it will probably end up in the U.S. removing their troops from Israel, leaving the conflict to be dealt with between Israel and countries like Iran and Lebanon. This will provoke an even stronger response from both sides, potentially killing an even greater number of civilians in the process. Looking at how bad the war is in Gaza, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the U.S. removing their troops from Israel only worsens the conflict.
Let's hope that Kamala Harris gets a miracle.
And if she doesn't, let's hope Donald Trump gets smarter and wiser like most people do in their old age. But he isn't most people, so that's a futile thought and a futile idea to hold on to.
