A few months later
Marry and Albert are out enjoying a dinner together in the early afternoon. They both enjoying a nice steak with a cup of black tea, Marry takes a sip of her tea " So I was thinking of seeking out the Ackerman's if they are still around that is" Marry tells her husband. Ablert raises a brow "You sure that's a good idea?...Also why may I ask?" He asks before taking a bite of his meal. Marry gives a sideways smile "Well I don't see the harm in talking, besides I was hoping to see if one of the would...well help project Evelyn, in case something happens to us" Marry explains. Ablert tilts his head to side "Well I suppose it couldn't hurt I suppose...after all this peace won't last forever" he says plainly. Marry nods "That's exactly why, it wouldn't hurt to have a little help after all" she says.
Meanwhile in the underground
Kennys at a bar talking to a hooded man at the bar while drinking a glass of brandy "So we got a deal?" Kenny asked the hooded man sat next to him, the hooded man nods "Yes, me and my man accept. We'll meet you at the spot at the time the specified" the hooded man says before geting up and making his exit. Kenny smirks and continues to drink is beverage.
Later on that day, Evelyn meets Levi and Kenny outside a bar "Hey Levi" she smiles at Levi "Oh and you of course" she glares at Kenny. Kenny waves her off "Whatever kid, anyway we got places to go today...so move your asses" he mutters. Kenny starts walking down a path and Levi and Evelyn follow closely behind. Kenny leads then down several allyways before stopping suddenly "Alright we are here" he says. He points to whats seems to be a rotten old abdoned factory "Theres some trash in there that needs to be taken care of" he explains. He walks off towards the building Levi and Evelyn follow, When Kenny reaches the entrance he stops and turns around to look at Evelyn and Levi "Okay me and Levi are going in and Evelyn you going to stay here and be a look out" Kenny explains. Evelyn tilts her head to the side "Hmm...okay" she says not trusting him at all.
Kenny opens the door and slowly steps inside looking around. Levi looks at Evelyn sadly "Eva you going to be okay on your own?" He askes concerned for his friend. Evelyn nods "Yeah I'm good..." she trails off. Kenny grabs Levi shoulder pulling him in the building "Get here runt" he mumbles. Evelyn patiently waits outside leaning against the wall (I have a bad feeling about this...why would he leave me on my own...) Evelyn then hears what sounds to be multiple peoples foot steps. She slowly steps out into the open and concerningly looks around. She closes her eyes listening to the sounds, she then dodges an attcker swiftly back flipping away put her arms up in defence. She's then altered by another on coming attacker with a sword. Her face in sheer panic, she leaps out of the way of the attacker. She continues to dodge her attackers skillfully.
Meanwhile in the old factory Kenny looks at his watch "Ah it's time" He smirks. Levi looks confused as they entered the building at it was completely empty. Kenny pulls out his knife and turns to Levi "Okay kiddo time for my last lesson" Kenny says then hands the knife to Levi. Levi takes the knife and looks at Kenny confused "What's this for?" Levi asks. Kenny smirks and crosses his arms and points the towards the entrance door. Levi walks over to the door and opens it slowy, he sees Evelyn getting attacked by two guys with swords. Evelyn gets grabbed by one of them from behind and can't escape, the other guy approaches her with his sword at the ready to execute her. Evelyn struggles to escape the guy holding her is too strong for to break the hold he has on her.
Levi watches in horror, his look suddenly turns to furry and he graps the knife tightly feeling a surge of power run through his body. He speeds towards the guy pointing a sword towards Evelyn, Evelyn closes her eyes. Levi shoots past. The huy holding the sword slowly collapses to the ground and dies. Levi then spins around and slices the guy holding Evelyn neck. The guy releases Evelyn, Evelyn slowly opens her eyes wondering why she's not dead. She looks to see her two attackers have been killed and Sees Levi brutality just stabbing one of her dead attackers. At this point people had gathered around to see the events. Evelyn stays in shock for moment, she then realised that the mp's would soon be on the way. She quickly gets up and pulls Levi off the dead man "Levi its okay he's dead now...we have to get out of here now!" She yells. Dragging Levi off down a silent non busy ally.
She continues to run with Levi for a good fifteen minutes before stopping. They both catch thier breaths, Evelyn looks at Levi whos covered in blood "Are you hurt at all?" Evelyn asks her friend. Levi shakes his head "Yeah...I'm fine, are you okay?" He asks. Evelyn collapses to floof and gives Levi a thumbs up. Levi sits next to her "Levi...thanks for saving my life back there" she says giving a half smile. Levi leans in resting the side of his head on Evelyn shoulder "I won't let anything happen to you...your my best friend" he says. Evelyn sighs "We need to clean you up and get you somewhere safe" Evelyn says.
Within an hour they find an old abdoned house to hind inside. They get in through the window, Evelyn starts to look around for possible clean clothes for Levi she ckecks all the old dressers and wardrobes. She eventually found some old clothes for him to wear. She sits Levi down on the floor with a rag and a bowl of water, she washes the blood off his face and hands as he sits quietly "There, you don't look like some kind of crazed loon anymore" she says quietly. She stands up off the floor and picks up the bowl and blooded rag and puts them on the side. She turns to Levi looking at him sadly "Hey, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to go soon...will you be okay on your own" she askes. Levi continues to sit on the floor quietly, he nods "...yeah" he says quietly. Evelyn walks over to Levi and jumps onto him with a big hug "Hey...things will get better at some point" she says quietly. Levi hugs her back tightly happy that he managed to safe her today.
The next week
Marry went to underground to seek out Kenny Ackerman for his help. After searching the bars she eventually found the man in one of the bars. He was sat at the bar alone drinking whiskey, Marry sat next to him and ordered a white rum. The bar tender quickly poured her drink and handed it to her and taking her money. Marry sipped her drink before turning her head to Kenny "You're Kenny Ackerman aren't you?" She asked. Kenny looked down the bar to Marry "Depends on who's asking" he mumbles. Marry looks him dead in the eyes "Do you know of the old Scarlet family?" She asks.
Kenny raises an eye brow "Vaguely...that's its some old Ackerman legend of some sort, but whats it to you?" He says sounding annoyed. Marry continues to look him dead in the eyes "I'm one of the last living members of clan Scarlet...I'm here to ask for your help. I'll pay you of course" Marry explains in a serious tone. Kenny let's out a laugh "Well I'll be damned, the old man was telling the truth" he continues to laugh. Marrys face drops from serious to confused "Uhh" she mumbles. Kenny stops his laughter and looks to Marry seriously "So what do you want?" Marry takes a sip of her drink "I came seeking protection for my daughter Evelyn. I can't say much about the matter of why" Marry explains looking down at the bar. Kenny raises an eyebrow in surprise "Evelyn hmm? Sorry but I don't do baby sitting" he says going back to his drinking.
Marry sighs sadly "I'll pay you whatever it takes" she says quietly. Kenny looks towards the sad looking Marry (Damn she must be desperate...but why) "Look lady I'm sorry but thats not my style...but if it makes you feel any better, my nephew will surely look after her" he explains taking gulp of his whisky. Marry turns her head to look at Kenny "Your nephew?" She asks, Kenny nods "Yeah believe it or not but I've already met ya daughter, she's good friends with my nephew. They are about the same age too" he explains. Marry gives him a frustrated look "You want a 10 year old boy to look after my daughter!! Are you insane or just drunk!" She angrily says. Kenny shrugs "They are both very capable brats, besides my nephew Levi seems to have imprinted on your daughter" he explains. Marrys face drops in horror "What! He's far too young for that and with my daughter?...he better not get any funny ideas when his older!" She says in frustration.
Kenny burst out in laughter "Jeez calm down women, they are just kids right now. There's no need to get so worked up" he says. Marry huffs in frustration. She quickly finishes her drink and stand up to leave the bar. Before exiting the building she gives Kenny one last look "Thanks for the information...it's nice to know she's got someone to watch her back...even if its a kid" she says before swinging the doors open and leaves. Kenny is left to continue his drinking alone at the bar in silence.
