I step out of my car as it stops in front of the restaurant. Olivia is standing outside the door waiting for me. She is covered in the same coat and scarf she had on earlier. I walk up to her; she turns and look at me while rubbing her hands together.
"you're not cold, are you? It's almost summer" I chuckle, feeling the cold air, and she smiles at my small joke. We walk over to the door together and I open it, holding it for her. The host comes straight over when we walk in.
"Good evening Mr. Parker" She says, her eyes first checking me out then falls over to Olivia.
"Can I take your coats" she asks and Olivia smiles taking her coat off. My eyes immediately trail down her body. Her heels make her look taller than she really is. She is wearing a black leather pencil skirt that makes her ass pop, jeez! That ass! I thought I was a boob guy, but her ass, it was all I could think of today. Her skirt stops at her small waist going over to a grey shirt that leaves the rest to my imagination. The perfect amount of sexy. I hand the host my coat as well and she leaves with them before showing us to the table. Nick Cornwall isn't here yet, and I'm almost hoping he is not coming, so I can have her all to myself tonight.
"So, what have you been up to?" she asks, and I chuckle, remembering my activities. How funny would it be to see the look on her face, oh you know, fucked my wife while thinking of you.
"I did some work"
"Oh, so you went back to the office?" she continues and I just nod. Easier than explaining.
"What about you?"
"I also went back to the office, researched Nick Cornwall" I stare at her as her lips goes up into a smirk and her eyes tells me she knows I just lied. I decided to just ignore it. For all she knew I was at the office. It is big enough.
"What did you find out?" I question, her eyes change, and I don't understand the emotion, is she hurt, or angry or both? One thing is for sure, she is not happy. But just as she is about to answer I see Nick Cornwall come walking over. I get up from my seat as he approaches. He is tall, almost a head taller than me, lean, but muscular. Even though he retired from basketball he is still in top shape. His light brown skin and blue eyes makes women mad for him. Olivia's eyes follow mine and she gets up as well. I can see Nick's eyes move from me and over to her, his eyes trailing down her body stopping at her behind. My jaw clench and I take a deep breath as she turns around to meet Nick. I take his hand and shake it, then he turns to Olivia.
"Hello, I'm Nick." he says, his eyes flirting shamelessly, and Olivia smiles a swooning smile back at him.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Olivia." Nick repeats her name as he goes in for a kiss on the cheek. What the hell! Womanizing bastard! I don't like this plan at all, fuck having him as a client. No fucking way would he so shamelessly play with her. She lets him kiss her on the cheek then she pulls away and move to my side of the table to sit down beside me. I'm not really sure why, Nick looks a bit confused as well, but we sit down.
"So, you heard I'm looking around"
"No not really" I snap, Nick looks surprised and a little thrown. I feel a foot kicking me.
"He is kidding" Olivia steps in flashing a seductive smile at Nick, and he bites, turning his attention to her.
"So, if I sign with him, will I get you in the deal as well?" that sentence has double meaning, and he means it both ways.
"Of course, you will" she says winking at him, and he sits back in his chair and smiles.
"Then we have a deal." Olivia looks surprised at him. I know he is easy, but that easy... I had no idea he would be so easily persuaded. What shocked me, shy, sweet, head strong Olivia just did a 360 and became a completely different person. Is this her outside of work? We eat dinner and talk, or rather, Nick flirt, and Olivia flirt back, while I'm sitting here uncomfortable and irritated for almost 2 hours.
When the night finally comes to an end, I set up an appointment for Nick to come in and sign some papers. We shake hands and then he moves to Olivia kissing her cheek again before walking off. Asshole! I sit back down and motion to the waiter that I needed a refill of my whiskey. Olivia moves back to the other side of the table, sitting across from me. I look at her and her eyes are burning with anger.
"What?" I ask confused. I can see she is taking a few breaths trying to calm herself down.
"I'm a fucking good paralegal" she cursed, and I look at her even more confused now. I start to say I know, but she holds her hand up stopping me from speaking and continues.
"I did a little research on our boy wonder; he never does anything with men... literally never. And do you know what his type is? Brown hair, blue eyes and curves... I am a fucking good paralegal, and this is the fucking last time you pimp me out to sign a client" she hisses with a low voice. I'm a little stunned at the way she talks to me, but I kind of like it.
"No one asked you to throw yourself at him, or flirt with him" her mouth presses together and I can tell she is doing everything she can not to scream at me.
"Oh, so this wasn't your plan, I wasn't eye candy for him?"
"Eye candy yes, but I never told you to pimp yourself out to him"
"Oh please, it's the same fucking thing and you know it!" She rolls her eyes at me, about to get up from her chair.
"Sit down!" I say, my voice stern again and she looks at me shocked, it was like I told a five-year-old to go to her room. But she sits back down waiting for me to speak.
"It was a bad idea, and I'm sorry" I say a bit surprised by myself, I usually don't apologize for anything. She still doesn't say anything, she just looks at me with narrowed eyes.
"Anything ells you want to get off your chest?" I question and she looks like she is considering it.
"I want a cut" she shoots, and I tilt my head chuckling a bit. She actually deserves a cut, but I want to see how far I can drag this, I like her when she is angry.
"You want a cut? You're not even a lawyer"
"So what? You wouldn't have him as a client if it wasn't for me, and I can just refuse to work with you." I chuckle again.
"It's a little hard to refuse to work for one of the name partners at the firm"
"I will manage" she answers determined.
"We don't allow paralegals to choose who they work for"
"To bad, I could sue you for a hostile work environment" I grin, and nod.
"10%" I offer, and she laughs a sweet laugh.
"20" she shoots back, her eyes searching for my response. I like the negotiation we got going now, not ready to give in just yet.
"12"
"20" she insists sticking to her first offer.
"15, last and final offer" I lie. She looks me in the eyes trying to read me. Her eyes making my heart beat faster, and I swallow as she reaches her hand out to me over the table.
"Deal" She say sounding pleased. I take her hand, and she looks down as I lock my hand around hers. I can tell she is blushing. I feel my erection, so I pull my hand back moving in my seat readjusting myself.
"I would have gone with 10 you know" the playful tone of her voice not helping right now. But I can't help but reciprocate.
"I would have given you 20" I smirk, and she giggles, our discussion is over.
"Why did you move to the other side of the table when Nick came?"
"Well it's easier to flirt when you sit opposite someone" she answers, her tone completely changed, her eyes lustful and her body leaning towards me in a subtle way. I breathe in, her perfume hitting me. She smells amazing. She slowly bites her bottom lip while looking at mine. The erection I was just trying to tame was on fire. Then she sits back up, her eyes back to normal.
"See, easy." she jokes, and I sit there speechless, trying to understand what she had just done. She had been toying with me. I think I'm about to go insane. She makes me insane! It's probably just because she is new, and no one can deny that she is smoking hot. These feelings going on will probably disappear as fast as they arrived.
We stay for a little while longer talking before we go. This had been the best night I had had in months.
