Olivia
"Olivia you have no idea how bad it was!" Helena shouts through the phone. I put the phone on speaker as I run around the small apartment trying to get everything I need for work.
"All he was interested in was sex, and not just sex, he wanted me to join him and his GIRLFRIEND for a threesome. WHAT THE HELL!!!!" I grab my phone and put it back to my ear again.
"Are you serious? What did you say?" I gasp into the phone
"I got up and left of course" Helena cries. She loves dating, but for some reason she always seem to find the most horrible men. I try to button my blouse and put on my heels at the same time as I'm balancing my phone between my shoulder and cheek. It's not a flattering look. My morning workout had taken longer than usual, and I was late out the door.
"I'm running late; can we talk at lunch?" I ask as I close the last button on my shirt.
"Sure, I'm just about to walk into the office, talk soon."
I hang up, throwing the phone in to my purse, grabbing it before packing myself in to my long winter coat and run out the door.
I cross the street, covering some of my face with my wool scarf. I loved New York in the winter but this week it had been crazy cold and windy. I walked up the steps to the office building, these steps always make me feel really important. Everyone that walkes around is in their suits and always in a hurry to get somewhere, including myself today.
Working as a paralegal for one of New York's biggest law firms, Parker & Smith, was a dream come true. I hadn't believed it when I got the offer. It has been a little over a month since I started, and I'm loving the job more and more for every passing day. Connor Smith hired me after my old boss gave the best recommendation anyone could ever ask for. I loved my old job, but after my breakup with Nate I needed a new start, in a new city, and what better city than New York? I was feeling kind of nervous for today; Daniel Parker had been out of the country since before I started working there, and today was his first day back. I would have to prove my worth once again. I walk inside the tall building and say good morning to Alfred, one of the buildings security guards. As I scan my card, he looks over at me
"Big day today" he states as I walk past him.
"Really big, wish me luck"
I answer, not sure why I need luck, but I feel like I do. What if Mr. Parker don't like me? As I rush over to the elevator, I hear him yelling good luck after me, and I smile. Alfred knows everything that goes on in this building, including all the juicy gossip. If you want to know anything at all he is the guy to talk to.
I look at the time as the elevator passes the 14th floor. Letting out a sigh of relief seeing I still have 15 minutes until the welcome back meeting, or whatever this is, starts. I grab my phone from my purse and look at it. I have 2 missed calls, one from my mom and one from Tanya, my best friend from back home. I will have to call them back later. The offices are in the top of the building; 35th to 40th floor was only Parker & Smith. The door opens as we come to the 40th floor and five people, including myself, step off and walk over to the reception area, where everyone scatters in different directions. It is a big open space with windows looking out at Manhattan, the warm lights and wooden interior makes the room seem smaller than it actually is. I see Helena sitting at the front desk as usual talking to someone on the phone. As she sees me, she covers the phone and whispers
"Just in time, people are starting to gather" She smiles at me.
"Thank you, talk later"
I whisper back as I rush past her, half running over to my small office. I put my purse down on my desk and rip my coat off throwing it on one of the chairs, not bothering hanging it up right now. I look down and straighten my skirt before grabbing a small mirror making sure my makeup isn't smeared all over my face. My long brown hair was a mess from the wind, I grab a brush from my purse and try to tame it the best I can before walking out. Just as I step out of my office, I crash right into someone.
"Oh, I'm so sorry."
I gasp, before taking a step back, looking at the man standing in front of me. He is wearing a 12000-dollar suit that is tailored perfectly to his well-built body, I look up at him. my icy blue eyes meeting his dark brown once. I blink a few times taking in the picture-perfect man standing in front of me. He has light brown hair that is pushed back in a combed way, not a hair out of place. His face looks strong; with a defined jawline any male model would envy. His lips fit his face perfectly, I could only imagine he is a great kisser. He looks like the perfect lawyer I think right before my eyes trail down to his hand noticing the gold ring. Is he married? I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed.
"Are you ok?"
he asks, his voice low and husky, sending shivers through me. He put his hand on my shoulder for a second making sure I am steady. His hand makes my hart skip a beat before he removes it and I feel a small sting. My eyes follow his hand as it falls beside him, then I look back up. His eyes on the other hand were now wandered down to my feet, making me glad I put on my new jimmy choo's today. His eyes slowly goes up my tan legs, lingering at the hem of my skirt before moving further up, stopping for a brief second at my hips. I take a deep breath; he isn't shy about what he is doing at all. His eyes move again going further up my body, to my small, but perky breasts and then again moving up to my lips. The whole situation probably only lasted about 3 or 4 seconds, but it felt like minutes. The way he scanned my body gave me a tingling sensation between my legs. Before I knew what I was doing, I bit my lower lip slightly and his eyes darkened as they moved up and met mine.
I have gotten used to men checking me out, and I don't mind. If they kept it classy there is nothing wrong with one person checking out another. I knew how to dress for my body to show of my hourglass figure. I wouldn't dress like I this if I minded having people looking at me. Don't get me wrong, in my eyes I dressed classy and appropriate for my job, but still I liked showing off my curves. Sometimes though, certain men think it is ok to take the looking one step further because I'm just a paralegal, and apparently that means I of course want a big shot lawyer as a boyfriend. In moments like that I would put them in their place. I'm not afraid to stand up for myself. There was something about him though, I wanted him to take it further, I wanted him to touch me, to push me up against the glass wall to and put his hands all over my body, rip my clothes off and kiss me everywhere before fucking me hard. I can feel myself about to blush from my thoughts, so I swiftly move away from the gloriously perfect, probably married man standing in front of me.
"I have to go, sorry again" I say before walking down the hallway, feeling his eyes on my back.
Mostly everyone has arrived when I enter the conference room. I am happy that neither Mr. Smith nor Mr. Parker Is here yet, I don't like to be late. The room is bussing with people talking. I look around, glad to see someone I know at this meeting, I sig sag past a few people moving to the back of the room where Sam is standing. He is one of the senior partners and has become one of my good friends. He is a slim man, a bit nerdy, but in a cute way. He is dangerously smart and can really give me a run for my money. He pushes his glasses up his nose and smiles at me when he sees me walking towards him.
"Your late"
he whispers handing me a cup of coffee. I smile back at him and take a sip, feeling the Columbian brew run down my throat. The coffee in this office is amazing. Sam is really attentive towards me, sometimes to the point that some people think we are a couple. It makes me a bit uncomfortable at times. I know he never means to make me feel that way, but when he puts his arm around me in front of co-workers and other people, it feels like a dog marking his territory. I don't want to ruin a new friendship, and maybe this is just his way of being kind and friendly, but in the back of my head I know that's not the case.
"I know, everything just took a lot more time today" I sigh
"Time to kiss some ass again" he stutters as his eyes move to the front of the room, and just as he said it, Mr. Smith walks in with him! The guy I just crashed into, the perfectly handsome, possibly married, guy. He couldn't be? Could he? He was way too young to have his name on the door, right? I look at him with fascination. His eyes are scanning the room quickly, he smirks a little when he sees me, but his eyes wandered away before I can even react.
