In the early days of humanity, conflict had always existed. it took thousands of years and a lot of bloodshed before the idea of a unified people came to be.
However, unification of all humankind was proved almost impossible due to man conflicts that happened.
But eventually they did.
They managed to cast aside their differences and worked together, united as one.
This proved very beneficial as their advanced through leap and bounds, eventually achieving the Golden Era.
But that all changed with the creations of the Hybrids, everything went downhill since then.
And now the Hybrids face a similar problem. When they became independent most of the Hybrid races fought for whatever that was left of human civilization. Their differences and past is what ultimately prevents Hybrid unification.
Castle was in his office, listening to some unsettling rumors that have been spreading around recently.
Being a slave to the Union Council had some benefits at least.
Apparently, many of the Union Council members have been at odds with each other recently due to the arms race and other things.
Castle sees this as a problems as if they decided to have a full scale war, the Hybrids would join Humanity. Another civilization forgotten and ruined.
But he has other things to deal with for now, like the missing squad of Newcastle Agents.
Then suddenly his door opened and council representative walked in. Among the many representatives, Castle has good relations with this one.
A young Half Dragon Hybrid woman by the name of Jyll'Hyr. She was an old friend as well as one of the Union Council's best scientist.
"Oh hello," Castle greeted, "Didn't expect to see you,"
"Hey, Castle" Jyll'Hyr greeted in a low voice, "How are you?"
"Well, the council has been riding on me for the past few days," Castle answered, "Want I fail what they want, they get mad at me, And when they actually get what they want, I'm making the rift between them larger by making them fight who gets what,"
Jyll'Hyr frowned a little at this statement.
"But I'm fine," Castle lied smoothly, "So what brings you here?"
"I'm here to see the... Primordial," Jyll'Hyr answered, "Council want an extensive study on it,"
"Why so they could reverse engineer it, and destroy each other?" Castle asked.
"More or less," Jyll'Hyr sighed softly, "I don't know what Council wants with the... Primordial,"
"This why I lose faith in my race," Castle said.
"What will it take for you to have faith in your own kind?" Jyll'Hyr questioned.
Castle didn't answer. Instead, he just smiled at her. Then, he sat back, crossed his legs and waited patiently for Jyll'Hyr to speak up again.
"So, how's the kid doing?" He asked.
"She's doing fine," Jyll'Hyr answered, "You know, she's been asking to see you,"
"That's cute," Castle responded.
"She's also been asking about her real parents," She added.
"Her biological one or her adoptive one?" Castle asked.
"Her adoptive parents of course," she sighed, "She... likes to talk about the times when they would argue and you would be there to stop them for killing each other,"
Castle laughed at that memory, remembering his past.
"Alright that enough reminiscing about the past," He said as he stood up, "Come on, might as well show you where we keep it,"
Castle led Jyll'Hyr to the room where they contained the Primordial. When they got there, the Primordial was still inside, frozen in ice.
"Amazing..." She muttered under he breath, "It's remarkably well preserved,"
"You could say that it's a... 'Prime Example' of human ingenuity," He joked.
"Heh, that was terrible..." Jyll'Hyr chuckled, "But in all seriousness, the things we could uncover study this..."
"I'm not sure about that," Castle said, "Don't think you would get anything from a carcass of a long dead race..."
"Assuming it is dead," He added.
"...Yeah, assuming," Jyll'Hyr said as she walked closer towards the glass window of the cell, "But even if it is dead, the information in its body should be useful in figuring out what made it this way,"
"Let's hope so," Castle replied, looking away as Jyll'Hyr kept her gaze on the Primordial.
Then he received a message, as soon as he read it, he quickly left the room.
"Wait where are you going?" Jyll'Hyr asked.
"You just stay here and look at it!" He shouted back, "I got lives to save!"
Back at the frozen surface of Earth, deep underground, The 4 Newcastle Agents just managed to send a message to call for help. With the aid of the Cherubim, Vulcan, they built a makeshifts beacon that was strong enough.
"Thanks Vulcan," Alysia said, "I just hope that he gets it,"
"Happy to be of service," Vulcan responded.
The group continued following Vulcan through the infested tunnels. The Infestation runs deep her, some even coming out of the ice.
"So, tell me" Xel'Ryah asked curiously, "What's an orbital Cannon?"
"A large planetary weapon capable of shooting large high-explosive missiles at the speed of mach 50, built upon the surface of the planet and fortified to withstand the force of recoil," Vulcan explained, he then made a buzzing sound before continuing, "It was widely used during the event 'Falling skies disaster'"
"Falling skies disaster?" Alysia thought, "What's that?"
"An event that showed the united will of humankind," Vulcan explained, " When a large amount of meteors were spotted heading towards the Solar System, they build these Orbital Cannons on every planet with a solid surface,"
"Many didn't survive the first wave..." Vulcan said.
"So, can we use this break the ice above and escape?" Sparrow asked.
"That's an insane idea," Kel'Zal sighed.
"Why? we could just blast the ice with it and climb out, easy!" Sparrow defended.
"That... might work," Xel'Ryah said.
"I give up..." Kel'Zal let out a long frustrated sigh.
The group continued on.
Meanwhile back at the secret hideout of the rebel group the Humanitarians, Aryn'Val along with the rest stood infront of the Cherubim that was uncovered.
"Alright," Aryn'Val took a deep breath, "Turn it on,"
Tech nodded, he kneeled down and 'woke up' the Cherubim.
It began to glow and hovered up in the air.
"Ah! back again, I see!" It said in a broken voice, "You want those blueprints for world ending weapons or what?"
"We're not here to ask for your blueprints" Aryn'Val said, glaring at the floating sphere, "We're going to ask questions here,"
"I assume you're the big boss here with that attitude," It said, "Go ahead and ask, I got all day anyways,"
"To start, why don't you tell us what are you and what do you do?" She asked it.
"Sure, whatever you want," The floating sphere responded, "I am a Cherubim, depending on who you asked, we are undoubtedly the more superior creations of humanity,"
"Are you trying to insult us?" Tech asked with wide eyes.
"Of course I am " The Cherubim said, "Your kind is the perhaps the greatest mistake, in all of human history,"
The Cherubim continued, "Anyways I was designed specifically to collect and preserve data," it said, "Every plan, every event, every data is stored within me,"
"Good you just may be the things that I need," Aryn'Val said.
"And what do you need hmm?"the Cherubim asked, "What purpose do you have for me?"
"I need... insight," She said.
"Insight?" the Cherubim asked curiously, "What for?"
"To unite all the Hybrids" She answered, "One way or another,"
The Cherubim stayed silent for a while. Pondering about her answer.
Suddenly it fell down on the ground, the glow it emmited now faded away.
"Damn it! What happened?" Aryn'Val stared at Tech.
"Calm down, let me check," Tech kneeled back on the floor and inspected the sphere.
He looked around the sphere before turning to look back at Aryn'Val.
"I'm not entirely sure but I think it's out of power," He told them.
Aryn'Val sighed, frustrated and annoyed.
Vendetta however was laughing quietly at the back.
"I'll leave this to you," Aryn'Val said before leaving, "Report to me if you succeed in turning it back on,"
After Aryn'Val left, along with her bodyguard Tower, Naiyan and Vendetta approached him.
"Well that was a... very insightful conversation," Vendetta chuckled, "She is really committed to the whole 'Unite everyone and be happy thing',"
"She's either very determined or delusional," Naiyan said, "How can we convince our own to stop killing each other,"
"We kill them first!" Vendetta answered enthusiastically, "At the end of the day, the only happy people are the living people,"
"I would prefer no bloodshed please," Tech said, "There's been enough deaths,"
"You know she really does remind me of a... friend," Vendetta said.
"Let me guess," They both said, "They're dead?"
"How did you know?" Vendetta giggled.
"Oh shut up..." Naiyan sighed and left.
"Alrighty then, see ya Flooftails!" Vendetta said before waltzing away.
Once again Tech was left alone with the sphere on the floor. And now the most important question of all.
"Where the hell is the charger?"
