The sound of explosion kept echoing in his ears. They were extremely loud, but artificial. They repeated in a consistent pattern.
"Boom! Tik Tik Tik.......Boom! Tik Tik Tik......Boom! Tik Tik Tik......"
"Quiet!"
Lizard tried to cover his ears to mute the sound, but to no avail. He was laying on the shore of an unfamiliar beach, with his head half buried in the sand. His breath come in with uneven gasps. His lips were dry and numb, and his stubborn legs are out of his control.
He felt the heat of the sun on his back, penetrating through his skin like millions of ants crawling rapidly up and down his blood vessels.
"Where am I?"
"Why I am paralysed?"
When he finally recalled what had happened, a huge wave splashed on the shore and pushed his body upside down.
The cold water washed off the numbness from his body and helped him regain consciousness. He slowly sat up, shook his head a couple times, and opened his eyes.
He was on a mysterious island alone. His jacket is no longer with him, but he still had the yellow backpack he used to put his explosives, which is now empty. Both of his shirt sleeves were badly torn off, however, not a single wound was found on his body. The sky was clear and the ocean was coral blue. He could not put himself into any deep thoughts, and decided to just stare across the ocean under the red-tinged sky.
"It's beautiful."
"I guess I have lost Jacob."
Putting his emotions aside, he stood up, stretched his legs, and continued to stare at the fascinating scenery. He missed his Marlboro cigarettes. After a few minutes, a morning object not far across the ocean caught his attention. He rubbed his eyes and took a second look.
"Is that a person waving at me?"
Without any further thoughts, the carried his yellow backpack, ran into the ocean, and started swimming towards what he just saw.
The water resistance was strong and he soon became exhausted. Fortunately, the water was shallow enough for him to stand and rest.
He took another look across the ocean to reconfirm. This time he saw a black figure standing on a floating construction in the middle of the ocean.
